Adam Sandler has signed on to develop and produce a feature-length adaptation of Bad Toys II, a popular short film that uses a combination of live-action and CGI animation. You can take a look at the six-minute short below, which is a little bit Robot Chicken and a little bit Adam & Joe Show.
French animators Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste directed the short as an homage to Michael Bay’s Bad Boys II. The story starts out with a car chase using toys on a living room floor that keeps escalating with explosions and car crashes. This big-screen version for Columbia Pictures will centree on a grown man whose childhood imagination comes to life again while playing with his son’s toys. The man’s play becomes an homage to big-budget action spectacles.
Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste will executive produce this new adaptation. No screenwriter or director has been hired yet. (Source: THR)
