Grown Ups 2 Trailer – Taylor Lautner goes for laughs alongside Sandler, Rock and co.

April 4, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Is Taylor Lautner funny? Well, it seems like he might be, as he doesn’t do too badly in the trailer for Grown Ups 2.

The movie sees the cast from Grown Ups returns – Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maria Bello – for more summertime laughs. Lenny (Adam Sandler) has relocated his family back to the small town where he and his friends grew up. This time around, the grown ups are the ones learning lessons from their kids on a day notoriously full of surprises: the last day of school.

As you’d expect from Sandler, half the jokes seem to be about potentially gay things, because apparently anything that could even possibly be construed as gay is absolutely hilarious! Let’s hope the actual film is laughing with rather than at homosexuality.

Lautner, Milo Ventimiglia and various others join the franchise, which is due to hit cinemas in July. [Read more…]

I’m sure many of you will be wondering why on earth they’ve made a Grown Ups 2, however the first film grossed $271 million around the world, so Sony obviously thought a second go around was worth it.

This time around Lenny (Adam Sandler) has relocated his family back to the small town where he and his friends grew up. Now the grown ups are the ones learning lessons from their kids on a day notoriously full of surprises: the last day of school. Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade and Kevin James are joined by the likes of Taylor Lautner, Andy Samberg, Milo Ventimiglia and Alexander Ludwig.

Taylor Lautner In Talks For Grown Ups 2

April 5, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s a big swing from 18 months ago when Taylor Lautner fever made it look like the young actor was going to take over Hollywood and he was asking massive amounts of money despite his lack of experience, as now the Twilight star is in talks for a supporting role in Grown Ups 2 for Sony Pictures and director Dennis Dugan.

THR has the news, but little is known about the part he will play, although it is said to be an important and fun role, which sees his character squaring off with Adam Sandler’s Lenny Feder. The actor does have some comedy under his belt, with roles in Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl during his pre-werewolf career.

Original Grown Ups cast members Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, and Maya Rudolph, are all expected to return for the seuqel, although it isn’t certain when it will shoot.

Adam Sandler Breaks The Razzie Record With 10 ‘Awards’

April 2, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s safe to say that this year’s Razzie voters are not Adam Sandler fans. The actor already broke Eddie Murphy’s record for having the most nominations in a year, and now he’s gone one better (worse?) by sweeping the board and receiving a record 10 gongs for filmic awfulness.

Admittedly not every single award went to him personally, but it does mean Jack & Jill, which Sandler both produced and starred in, is the first film in the 32-year history of the Razzies to sweep all 10 dishonourable categories. Sandler won for both Worst Actor and Worst Actress, an impressive feat in itself, while co-stars Al Pacino and David Spade also picked up gongs in the worst supporting actor and actress categories.

It’s actually a pretty impressive achievement and Sandler ought to be oddly proud, while feeling extremely ashamed at the same time!

While the Razzies are normally given out the day before the Oscars, this year it was changed to nominations were announced as Oscar time, with the winners announced on April Fools Day. Voting was also expanded from just Golden Raspberry members to the users of the Rotten Tomatoes websites, so it really was a popular vote deciding Sandler’s film was the absolute worst!

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (DVD)

November 2, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Kevin James, Adam Sandler, Jessica Biel, Dan Aykroyd, Ving Rhames
Director: Dennis Dugan
Running Time: 110 mins
Certificate: 15

When red tape prevents firefighter Larry from naming his kids as his pension beneficiaries, he asks friend and colleague Chuck to pretend to be his domestic partner in order to get around the bureaucracy. However their charade gets increasingly complicated.

I’ve got a high horse and I’m going to get on it. Universal may have screened I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry to GLAAD (the Gay And Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and other gay groups to try and prove it wasn’t homophobic, but you can’t get around the fact that it trades on every homosexual stereotype imaginable.
