New First Man Trailer – Ryan Gosling heads to the moon for director Damien Chazelle

September 24, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Synopsis: ‘Oscar®-winning director Damien Chazelle and star Ryan Gosling reteam for Universal Pictures’ First Man, the riveting story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. A visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost—on Armstrong and on the nation—of one of the most dangerous missions in history.

‘Written by Academy Award® winner Josh Singer (Spotlight), the drama is produced by Wyck Godfrey & Marty Bowen (The Twilight Saga, The Fault in Our Stars) through their Temple Hill Entertainment banner, alongside Chazelle and Gosling. Isaac Klausner (The Fault in Our Stars) executive produces. Amblin Entertainment co-finances the film.’

New The Girl In The Spider’s Web Trailer – Claire Foy becomes Lisbeth Salander

September 24, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Ever since David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Sony has said they were going to produce a sequel, but they took a long time to decide exactly what they were going to do. Now it’s on its way, with Rooney Mara gone and The Crown actress Claire Foy taking over as Lisbeth Salander in a role that’s very different from her Netflix series persona.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller. Golden Globe winner Claire Foy, the star of “The Crown,” will play the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016’s breakout thriller Don’t Breathe; the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu.’

The movie is due out Novermber 9th. Take a look at the trailer and first poster below. [Read more…]

Unsane Trailer – Steven Soderbergh has made a horror film on an iPhone, starring Claire Foy

January 29, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Steven Soderbergh came back from his self-imposed retirement last year with Logan Lucky. Now he’s lining up his next movie, and this time he’s decided that rather than expensive cameras, he was going to shoot the entire thing on an iPhone. He’s not the first to do it as other movies, most notably the award-winning Tangerine, have done it before, but the Ocean’s 11 helmer is certainly the highest profile director to go down that route.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘UNSANE is directed by Academy Award nominated director Steven Soderbergh (Logan Lucky, Erin Brockovich), stars Claire Foy (The Crown), Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project), Jay Pharoah (Ride Along), Juno Temple (Atonement), Aimee Mullins (Stranger Things) and Amy Irving (Traffic).

‘A young woman leaves her hometown to escape a troubled past and begin a new job. But when she is involuntarily committed to a mental institution she is confronted by her greatest fear — but is it real or just her delusion? With seemingly no-one ready to believe her and the authorities unable or unwilling to help, she must confront her fears head on. With twisting perspectives and a shocking narrative, Unsane asks questions about our perception of reality, our survival instinct and the system that is supposed to take care of us.’

The movie hits UK cinemas on March 23rd. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Breathe Trailer – Love conquers adversity for Andrew Garfield in Andy Serkis’ directorial debut

July 2, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Synopsis: ‘Andy Serkis (Jungle Book, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) makes his feature directorial debut with BREATHE. Based on a script by twice Academy Award-nominated writer William Nicholson (Everest, Les Misérables and Gladiator), BREATHE is an inspirational true story of love without limits.

‘Adventurous and charismatic, Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield – Hacksaw Ridge, Silence) has his whole life ahead of him when he is paralysed by polio whilst in Africa. Against all advice, Robin’s wife Diana (Claire Foy – Golden Globe Winner, The Crown, Wolf Hall) brings him home from hospital where her devotion and witty determination transcends his disability. Together they refuse to be imprisoned by his suffering; dazzling others with their humour, courage and lust for life. BREATHE is a heart-warming and highly emotional celebration of bravery and human possibility, a love story about living every breath as though it’s your last.

‘Based on the true story of producer Jonathan Cavendish’s own parents, BREATHE shows how Robin’s handling of and reaction to his illness had a huge impact on mobility and access for the disabled.

‘The film’s supporting cast members include Hugh Bonneville (Paddington and Downton Abbey) and Tom Hollander (Jungle Book and The Night Manager) as Robin’s devoted, long-time friends. Stephen Mangan (Rush) and acting legend Dame Diana Rigg (Game of Thrones, the original The Avengers) complete the cast with a soundtrack by the acclaimed composer Nitin Sawhney.

‘The film is produced by Jonathan Cavendish (Bridget Jones’s Diary) for The Imaginarium Studios. Financing is from Silver Reel, BBC Films and the BFI, brokered by Embankment Films.

‘STXinternational release the film across the UK and Ireland on 27th October.’ [Read more…]
