Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built Trailer – Helen Mirren plans to lock up ghosts!

January 7, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Helen Mirren may not have been cast in the female reboot of Ghostbusters, but that’s not going to stop her trying to bust some ghosts – and get historical while doing it. She’s starring in Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built, which has just dropped a new trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Inspired by true events. On an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco sits the most haunted house in the world. Built by Sarah Winchester (Academy Award®-winner Helen Mirren), heiress to the Winchester fortune, it is a house that knows no end. Constructed in an incessant twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week mania for decades, it stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms. To the outsider it looks like a monstrous monument to a disturbed woman’s madness. But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece (Sarah Snook) or for the brilliant Doctor Eric Price (Jason Clarke) whom she has summoned to the house. She is building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, and the most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters…’

Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built is released in UK cinemas 2nd February 2018. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

October 16, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Despite the success of World War Z, reports of major problems on the set certainly hit his reputation. Now he’s returned with something rather different and on a smaller scale than either World War Z or Forster’s James Bond movie that preceded it, Quantum Of Solace.

Here’s the synopsis of All I See If You: ‘Gina is a beautiful young woman who’s still haunted by the accident that took her sight years earlier. Living in Bangkok with her husband, James, she undergoes a cutting-edge operation that restores the vision to her right eye. Now that Gina can see again, she slowly starts to realize that her newfound independence makes James feel jealous, threatened and insecure.’

Blake Lively, Jason Clarke, Yvonne Strahovski, Danny Huston, Ahna O’Reilly and Wes Chatham star. It’s due out in the US on October 27th. No UK date is currently set. [Read more…]

Damien Chazelle has the world at his feet following his Best Director Oscar win for La La Land. He’s decided his next project will be a biopic of Neil Armstrong, called First Man. March 22, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

As they make their way higher up the mountain, Rob decides it’s going to be best to team up with a rival company, led by Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal), in the hope of keeping things as safe as possible.

After facing illness and other issues that prevent some of them getting to the top, a group of them make it, only to be hit by an extremely nasty storm, which threatens to ensure that none of them will make it back down again. Terminator Genisys (DVD Review)

November 6, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Dayo Okeniyi
Director: Alan Taylor
Running Time: 126 mins
Certificate: 12
Release Date: November 2nd 2015 (UK)

Having spent $10s of millions on buying the Terminator franchise, the backers of Genisys had a lot riding on the movie. The film was planned as the first part of a new trilogy, although it seemed that was in major doubt after it only made $89 million at the US box office. However worldwide it did much better, grossing $440 million overall. As a result we’re likely to see more Terminating, even if the original plans change.

It’s both a continuation and semi-reboot, with Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) sent back in time to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) from an evil Terminator (a CGI’d young Arnold Schwarzenegger), but once there it turns out events have changed since the first time we saw things, as Sarah is well aware of what’s going on, as she’s been protected by her own Terminator, which she calls Pops (a non CGI, aging Arnie), since she was a child. New Everest Trailer – Jake Gyllenhaal, Sam Worthington & Jason Clarke go mountaineering

August 5, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

everest-poster1-slideThere’s no doubt that things are dangerous when you go mountaineering, and that’s certainly true in Everest, which follows the events of what was the biggest tragedy on the mountain until the recent Nepal earthquake.

Now a new trailer has arrived, which certainly highlights those dangers.

Here the synopsis: ‘Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival. The epic adventure stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal.’

Everest Trailer – Jake Gyllenhaal, Sam Worthington & Jason Clarke head for the Himalayas

June 4, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

everest-poster1Following the recent tragedy on Everest caused by the Nepal earthquake, the marketing for San Andreas was deliberately toned down. You have to imagine there were a lot of serious conversations about this one, which is based on the true story of the greatest disaster to hit the mountain until this year.

This first trailer certainly highlights the danger while saying little about the tragedy, and the synopsis glosses over it too.

Here it is: ‘Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.
