Into The Forest Trailer – Ellen Page & Evan Rachel Wood are post-apocalyptic sisters

May 12, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

into-the-forest-slideMovies sure like the idea of a world after an apocalypse, and now it’s Ellen Page & Evan Rachel Wood’s turn to head for a wasteland, near-future world with Into The Forest. The film debuted at the end of last year at the Toronto International Film Festival to pretty good reviews, and now we have a trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Set in the near future, this riveting and suspenseful apocalyptic drama follows two sisters, Nell (Ellen Page) and Eva (Evan Rachel Wood) who live in the Pacific Northwest with their kindly father, Robert. Nell is focused on her studies and Eva is training to be a dancer, but their peaceful lives are disrupted one day by what turns out to be a continent-wide blackout. Whereas at first the family bond together and try to make the most of their difficult circumstances, as time gone on, the challenges become more serious. In the wake of a shocking and violent confrontation that Robert has with a menacing passerby, the sisters must work together in order to survive in their increasingly treacherous new world.’

The movie will be released in the US this summer. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

December 9, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

darren-criss-bigIt’s gender role reversal time with a Big parody starring Evan Rachel Wood and Darren Criss. However it’s Wood who’s in the Tom Hanks role, while Criss takes the role that was originally played by Elizabeth Perkins.

The Funny Or Die vid will put a smile on your face and just to add a little bit more interest, the ever-cute Criss isn’t afraid to take his shirt off.

Glee star Darren isn’t a stranger to parody, as before he was dating Kurt at McKinley High, he came to the entertainment world’s attention with a comedy musical take of Harry Potter, where he took the lead role.

Ewan McGregor & Evan Rachel Wood May Join Prisoner Of Tehran

October 25, 2012 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

While we in the West have vague notions that Iran isn’t exactly the greatest place in the world, it’s fairly rare that we get stories emerging about life in the country. Now Kari Skogland (Fifty Dead Men Walking) is hoping to help remedy that, with a movie based on Marina Nemat’s memoir, Prisoner of Tehran: One Woman’s Story of Survival Inside an Iranian Prison.

In the hope of ensuring some international interest in the tale, the producers are lining up some well known names, with Moviehole reporting that Ewan McGregor and Evan Rachel Wood are in talks for the movie. Neither will be pretending to be middle-eastern, as they’re expected to take supporting roles,

Nemat was a young girl when the Islamic Revolution changed the face of Iran in 1979. During her teenage years she became increasingly interested in the Koran and politics. At her school, Nemat decided to speak out what she though was wrong, and ultimately caused a student walk out.

Her rebellion was taken very seriously by Iranian officials. She was arrested and thrown in the infamous Tehran prison called Evin. Here she was tortured and sentenced to death for her perceived crimes against the state. An unlikely chance at salvation came at the hands of a guard named Ali, who had fallen in love with her.

Evan Rachel Wood Up For 18 Wheel Butterfly

August 29, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

We haven’t seen much of Evan Rachel Wood since The Ides Of March in 2011, but she’s got The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman coming up, as well as Barefoot and A Case Of You. Now Variety reports that Wood is now in talks to star in 18 Wheel Butterfly, an indie road movie which is set to be directed by Michael Polish (Twin Fall Idaho).

Written by Christian Divine and described as a mix between Thelma and Louise and Smokey and the Bandit, the story is set in 1977 and follows Rainbeaux (Wood), a trucker on the run from the police, bounty hunters, and her fellow truck drivers after she is set up for a crime she didn’t commit.

Aaron Magnani is producing the project and currently seeking financing. There is currently no date for the start of production.

Sienna Miller Has A Case Of You With Brendan Fraser

February 17, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A few years ago Sienna Miller seemed on the way to becoming a big star, but she’s almost disappeared from major productions recently. Indeed her last big movie was G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra. However Variety reports that she and Brendan Fraser have got a new gig in a movie co-scripted by Justin Long. Unfortunately for Miller, it’s only a supporting role.

Long also takes the lead role in A Case of You, which is currently shooting in New York. The movie is about a young man who creates an online dating profile full of lies to try and attract women. It works well and he starts seeing a woman (Evan Rachel Wood), but then he realises that in order not to appear a complete liar, he needs to maintain the fiction he created online.

It’s isn’t certain exactly who Miller and Fraser will play, but Busy Phillips and Peter Dinklage also star, with Life Happens director Kat Coiro helming.
