Tak3n Trailer – Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills becomes a pacifist (not really)

October 1, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Taken-3-QuadIn Tak3n (or Taken 3, for those who cringe at bringing numbers into words) Liam Neeson becomes a Buddhist monk, has tea parties and teaches people that hugging bunnies is better than violence. Ok, no he doesn’t, he kicks a lot more ass and does his best impression of Richard Kimble in The Fugitive by going on the run after being framed for the murder of his (ex-)wife. Did a one-armed man do it?

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.’

The movie is out in the UK on January 8th. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Liam Neeson Back For Taken 3 & Being Paid $20 Million For It

June 25, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

liam-neeson-taken-pic120th Century Fox and EuropaCorp are obviously very keen to make Taken 3, as they’re in the process of closing a massive deal that will give Liam Neeson $20 million to return as Bryan Mills, according to Deadline.

The first murmurings that Taken 3 was in the works came last October when it was revealed that Taken and Taken 2 writers Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen were working on the script. However at that time Neeson wasn’t signed up, and it’s taken a lot of money to get him.

The first Taken earned over $225 million worldwide from just a $25 million budget and followed Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills as he frantically tries to get his kidnapped daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) back from her captors. While last year’s sequel, Taken 2, was critically trashed, it nevertheless grossed $376 million worldwide, making a third movie very much worth making.

No director has been attached to Taken 3 yet, but it is believed that Taken 2 filmmaker Olivier Megaton may return to the helm. The studio is eyeing to hoping to shoot in February 2014 and are also keen to get Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen to come back too.

New The Wolverine Trailer – Hugh Jackman gets haunted by Famke Janssen

May 22, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While director James Mangold has said The Wolverine is a stand-alone movie, this trailer certainly plays up the links both the X-Men movies (Logan being haunted by the death of Jean Grey) and Origins: Wolverine, while still ensuring this looks like something new.

It also gives up our first look at the rather fearsome Silver Samurai in action.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

The Wolverine opens in cinemas on 25th July 2013.

Taken 2 (DVD)

February 3, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, Liam Neeson
Director: Olivier Megaton
Running Time: 94 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: February 4th 2013

I’m not entirely sure what it was about Taken that made it a $200+ million grossing film around the world. It was a decent enough action movie, but nothing particularly amazing. However its success ensured we’d get a Taken 2, and it’s not surprising Liam Neeson was keen to return, as the first movie gave his career a real shot in the arm. [Read more…]

New Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters NSFW Trailer

January 4, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

We might have had to wait quite a while for the release of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, but it’s not long now until the film’s February 22nd release. To help up the anticipation, Paramount has released a new red band trailer, showing this fairytale is going to be pretty violent.

The film sees Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as grown up versions of Hansel & Gretel, who now work as bounty hunters tracking down witches. If you were thinking this was going to be all buttercups and fairytale prettiness, think again, as it’s going to have plenty of blood and guts, along with a dark sense of humour. Tommy Wirkola directs.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters – Red Band Trailer

October 30, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

If all had gone to the original plan, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters would have hit cinemas last spring, but it got delayed (some have suggested because it’s not that great, others have said that movie was waiting for Jeremy Renner to get more famous). Now it’s set for release early next year (March 15th to be exact), and the a new red band trailer has arrived, giving us a look at the movie, which sees Renner and Gemma Arterton as grown up versions of the fairy tale characters, who now work as bounty hunters tracking down witches. If you were thinking this was going to be all buttercups and fairytale prettiness, think again, as it’s going to have plenty of blood and guts, along with a dark sense of humour.

Which X-Man Is Rumoured For A Wolverine Cameo?

October 22, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Okay, we’d better start off with a spoiler warning, as if you want everything about The Wolverine to be a surprise, stop reading now, but if you want to know which of the X-Men from the Bryan Singer film series might be appearing in the upcoming movie, keep reading.

The Wolverine has been in production for quite a few weeks now down in Australia, and all we’ve heard so far is that it will be a stand alone movie that sees Hugh Jackman’s adamantium skeletoned mutant heading to Japan. However We Got This Covered says the movie may have some crossover to earlier X-Men films, as they report Famke Janssen headed Down Under last week and headed to the set to shoot a cameo.

While we saw what we presumed was the first meeting between Famke’s Jean Grey and Jackman’s Wolverine in X-Men, it’s possible they had met before and memory challenged Wolverine simply can’t remember it. However it’s also possible this rumour is untrue or that Janssen wasn’t in Australia for The Wolverine.

She’s also been rumoured for a cameo in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, as part of the time-travel elements of that film, and a Wolverine cameo may be part of Fox’s attempts to make their various superhero properties more like Marvel’s interconnected universe. We’ll have to wait and see if she does pop up in The Wolverine when it’s released next July.
