First Poster For Simon Pegg’s Absolutely Anything

February 18, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

absolutely-anything-promo-posterWe’re never going to have another proper Monty Python movie, but we’re getting close, as Absolutely Anything will feature the voices of John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin & Terry Gilliam, although it will centre around Simon Pegg’s characters.

With shooting starting next week, a promo poster has arrived, via Collider.

Pegg will play Neil Clarke Clarke, “a disillusioned school teacher who suddenly finds he has magical powers, bestowed upon him by aliens.” Those extra-terrestrials are voiced by the Pythons. Robin Williams is also onboard as the voice of Neil’s dog.

Dan Stevens Bringing Sir Lancelot To Life In Night at the Museum 3

November 11, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Dan-StevensThe Night At The Museum franchise is coming to the UK, and as a result it needs a few British actors. Now it’s got one in the form of former Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens, whose star is certainly on the rise.

Ben Stiller is set to reprise his role as night security guard Larry Daley, with Robin Williams also coming back as Teddy Roosevelt. This time, it turns out the it’s not just US museum exhibits that can come to life at night, as Larry and Teddy end up in action in London. Dan Stevens will be Sir Lancelot, who is apparently the main villain in this new adventure.

Shawn Levy returns to direct, from a script by franchise scribes Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. Night At The Museum 3 is currently due for release on December 25th, 2014. (Source: Variety)

Robin Williams May Be Back For Night at the Museum 3

October 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

robin-williamsThey like to keep a few years between Night At The Museum movies. As there was three years between 2006’s first film and the 2004 sequel, and now a third film is on the way, due in cinemas Christmas 2014.

With shooting due to kick off in February, the filmmakers are starting to get the cast confirmed, with THR reporting that Robin Williams is in negotiations to reprise his role as Teddy Roosevelt in Night at the Museum 3.

Ben Stiller is also set to return as museum security guard Larry Daley. It’s been reported previously that he sequel is set in London as well, although it’s not known exactly which museum(s) will be involved – the city certainly has some great ones to choose from, including the Natural History Museum and British Museum.

Shawn Levy is once more directing.

Joel McHale, Lauren Graham & Robin Williams Find A Friggin’ Xmas Miracle

February 11, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Joel-McHaleCommunity star Joel McHale is hoping to make a splash in the film world, as he’s moving up from supporting roles to starring with A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle, according to THR. Also up for the film are Lauren Graham and Robin Williams, working from a script by Wreck-It Ralph’s Phil Johnston.

Tristram Shapeero, who’s previously worked with McHale on Community, will direct the movie, which ‘follows Boyd Mitchler (McHale) and his wife Luann (Lauren Graham) as they spend a dreaded Christmas with Boyd’s father Mitch (Williams) and his family of misfits. Upon realising that he has left all of his son’s gifts at home, Boyd hits the road with his father and younger brother in an attempt to make the eight-hour round trip before sunrise.’

Hopefully it’ll be better than most Christmas movies. Shooting is set to begin in late March in Atlanta (which hopefully will look suitably Christmassy, even if it is Spring).

The Big Wedding Trailer – Robert De Niro & Diane Keaton pretend to still be married

August 1, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Hollywood adores movies about weddings, even though most of them are god-awful. However at least The Big Wedding has a decent cast, even if the trailer doesn’t make it seem all that good. Robert DeNiro, Katherine Heigl, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, Susan Sarandon and Robin Williams star in what’s described as ‘an uproarious romantic comedy about a charmingly modern family trying to survive a weekend wedding celebration that has the potential to become a full blown family fiasco. To the amusement of their adult children and friends, long divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (De Niro and Keaton) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding after his ultra conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend. With all of the wedding guests looking on, the Griffins are hilariously forced to confront their past, present and future – and hopefully avoid killing each other in the process. Screenplay by Justin Zackham. Directed by Justin Zackham.’ It hits UK cinemas November 9th.

Robin Williams Joins The Butler As Dwight Eisenhower

July 19, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

As The Butler is about a man who served eight US Presidents, there are plenty of roles to cast of former leaders of the free world. Now the movie has got another one, as Robin Williams has signed up for gay director Lee Daniels’ film, playing Dwight Eisenhower, according to Variety.

The movie is a biopic about longtime White House butler, Eugene Allen (Forest Whitaker), began his White House employment in 1952, under President Harry S. Truman, and retired in 1986, during President Ronald Reagan’s second term in office. In that time the African American rose through the ranks and was there as the Civil Rights struggle played out in the halls of power.

Other Presidential roles include John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Liam Neeson as Lyndon B. Johnson, and Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, with Jane Fonda playing Nancy Reagan. David Oyelowo will play the title role. Danny Strong co-wrote the screenplay with Lee Daniels, with production scheduled to start in the very near future.

Happy Feet Two (Blu-ray)

March 22, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Pink, Sofia Vergara
Director: George Miller
Running Time: 95 mins
Certificate: U
Release Date: March 26th, 2012

In 2006 Happy Feet was a surprise hit, grossing almost $200 million in the US, but sadly this follow-up was a surprise flop, making just a third as much in North America as its predecessor. Many have suggested the problem is the amount of time between parts one and two, with six years being an age in the world of kids’ film. Whatever the reason it’s a great shame, as just like the first film, the initial sense of the whole thing being utterly ridiculous soon gives way to feeling entertained and charmed.

Mumble (Elijah Wood) is now grown up – although rather inexplicably still looks like an overgrown juvenile penguin – and has a chick of his own, Erik, a rather strong-willed youngster who unlike his father, isn’t that good at dancing, and hasn’t shown a huge amount of aptitude for anything else either, barring having a temper and getting into trouble. Great New Happy Feet Two Trailer

November 16, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

I would have loved to have been at the meeting where they asked Brad Pitt and Matt Damon if they’d mind playing prawns in Happy Feet Two. However it went, they agreed, and now the movie is due in UK cinemas on December 2nd. But with the film out in the US on Friday, a great new trailer has arrived! In the film Mumble’s son, Erik, is struggling to realise his talents in the Emperor Penguin world, but is excited when he thinks he’s found a penguin that can fly. Meanwhile, Mumble and his family and friends discover a new threat their home – one that will take everyone working together to save them.
