War Machine Trailer – Brad Pitt is going to war for Netflix

March 31, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Netflix has shown they can take on television at their own game (something most thought was impossible a few years ago), and now they want to show Hollywood they can make really big movies too. This year they’ve got the likes of Bright, starring Will Smith, as well as War Machine, with Brad Pitt. The trailer for the latter has now arrived.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘An absurdist war story for our times, writer-director David Michôd (Animal Kingdom) recreates a U.S. General’s roller-coaster rise and fall as part reality, part savage parody – raising the specter of just where the line between them lies today. His is an exploration of a born leader’s ultra-confident march right into the dark heart of folly. At the story’s core is Brad Pitt’s sly take on a successful, charismatic four-star general who leapt in like a rock star to command NATO forces in Afghanistan, only to be taken down by a journalist’s no-holds-barred exposé.

‘The Netflix original film is inspired by the book The Operators: The Wild & Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan by the late journalist Michael Hastings. Joining Pitt in War Machine is a highly decorated cast including Tilda Swinton, Ben Kingsley, Anthony Michael Hall, Topher Grace, Will Poulter, Lakeith Stanfield, Emory Cohen, John Magaro, RJ Cyler, Alan Ruck, Scoot McNairy and Meg Tilly. Ian Bryce and Plan B’s Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Brad Pitt serve as producers. James Skotchdopole serves as executive producer. The film will be released on Netflix on May 26, 2017.’ [Read more…]

War Machine Teaser Trailer – Netflix show off its upcoming movie starring Brad Pitt

March 1, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Today Netflix was in Berlin, trying to woo the European market and showing off some of its upcoming wares. After releasing a trailer for Bright, starring Will Smith a couple of days ago, they decided today was a good time for the first teaser for another film they’ve got up their sleeve featuring a-list talent – War Machine, starring Brad Pitt.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘An absurdist war story for our times, writer-director David Michôd (Animal Kingdom) recreates a U.S. General’s roller-coaster rise and fall as part reality, part savage parody – raising the specter of just where the line between them lies today. New The Rover Trailer – Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce go post-apocalyptic

April 18, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Things aren’t going well in Australia in The Rover, as the country has suffered a massive financial crisis that sent many heading for desert mines in the hope of finding their fortune.

Guy Pearce stars as Eric, a drifter living outside normal society. When his car is stolen by a gang of thugs, he enlists the help of Reynolds (Robert Pattinson), a gang member who was abandoned during the chaos.

Now a new trailer for the movie has arrived.

Director David Michod previously commented, “It’s like a new gold rush. Where people from all corners of the world have come out to the desert to scrape out an existence. Petty criminals and miscreants and hustlers. The basic story is really quite elemental. You’ve got a really dark, dangerous, murderous person in Guy’s character, and in Rob’s character you have a quite troubled and damaged, but beautiful and naïve, soul.”

The movie should hit cinemas later this year. [Read more…]

The Rover Teaser Trailer – Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce are going post-apocalyptic in Australia

It’s all a little post-apocalyptic, as this teaser trailer shows.

We’re not sure about Pattinson as a gangster thug, but perhaps he’ll surprise us. The movie should hit cinemas later this year. [Read more…]

Robert Pattinson Gets Bloody At Guy Pearce’s Hands In First The Rover Pic

March 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The pic above isn’t an example of hatred of The Twilight franchise that’s gotten completely out of hand, it’s actually the first image of Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce in The Rover (via EW). And as you can see, R-Patz isn’t having a great time.

The movie is Australian director David Michod’s follow-up to his critically-acclaimed Animal Kingdom. Guy Pearce stars as Eric, a drifter living outside normal society. When his car is stolen by a gang of thugs, he enlists the help of Reynolds (Robert Pattinson), a gang member who was abandoned during the chaos.

The film is set in Australia after a massive financial crisis that sent many heading for desert mines in the hope of finding their fortune. David Michod commented, “It’s like a new gold rush.

He’s adds, “You put cars in the desert in Australia and people are going to think of Mad Max. And with all due respect to that film – and I stress that – I think The Rover is going to be way more chillingly authentic and menacing.”

We’re not sure about Pattinson as a gangster thug, but perhaps he’ll surprise us. The movie should hit cinemas later this year.
