Megan Fox Reuniting With Michael Bay For Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

February 22, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

megan-foxWhen Megan Fox was dumped from Transformers 3 amid some anger over comments she’d made about Michael Bay’s directing style that the helmer took badly, it didn’t look like they’d ever have anything to do with one another again. However they must have made up, as Michael Bay has revealed on his website that Fox has been cast in the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie that he is producing.

There’s not much info from Bay, who merely writes, ‘TMNT: We Are Bringing Megan Fox Back Into The Family’

It isn’t known what role Megan Fox will play, but the speculation is that she will portray April O’Neill, the reporter who befriends the pizza-loving, be-shelled crime-fighters Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and Leonardo.

Jonathan Liebesman is directing from a screenplay by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. The movie is currently scheduled to be released May 16th, 2014, so expect more casting news soon.

Ninja Turtles Reboot Gets Delayed Due To Script Problems

June 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A few months ago Paramount Pictures set a December 25th, 2013 release date for their new live action Ninja Turtles reboot. However that’s now been pushed back until at least May 16th, 2013, according to THR, in order to work out issues with the script. Only last week plans were moving ahead to shoot the film later this summer, so this is a bit of a last minute move.

The studio has laid off pre-production staff members, with the start of production postponed for at least 10 weeks. The screenplay by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum is said to be the primary reason for the production shut down. It isn’t known if Paramount is seeking new writers or if the guys responsible for the script will get a chance to iron out the problem.

Jonathan Liebesman is still attached to, with Michael Bay producing through his Platinum Dunes production company. This is the third major production that Paramount has delayed in the past few months. Last month G.I. Joe Retaliation was bumped nine months from June 29th, 2012 to March 29th, 2013 to be converted into 3D. World War Z has also been pushed from this December into the summer of 2013, to accommodate extensive reshoots.

Don’t be shocked if there are even more delays to Ninja Turtles, especially as initial reports said the movie had been put on indefinite hiatus rather than just being delayed by 10 weeks.

New Wrath Of The Titans Trailer

February 23, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A couple of year ago Sam Worthington’s Perseus clashed with the Titans, and now he’s going to feel their wrath with the sequel to the Greek mythological hit arrives in cinemas on March 30th. Now a new trailer has popped up over at Yahoo! and we’ve embedded it here. The trailer certainly is action packed, and we’ll just have to hope the action makes more sense than it did in Clash Of The Titans. This time around Perseus embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, who has been targeted for capture by his traitorous son, Ares, and his brother, Hades. Enjoy the mythological madness below.

Jonathan Liebesman In Talks To Direct Live-Action Ninja Turtles

February 15, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

For quite a while now, a new, live action version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been in the works and now it appears its found its director, as Variety reports Battle: Los Angeles and Wrath Of The Titans helmer Jonathan Liebesman is in talks to helm the movie.

Iron Man co-writers Art Malcum and Matt Holloway and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’s Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec have both already had a go at the script for what is planned as a big budget take on the story of the walking, talking, martial arts vigilante amphibians. Michael Bay is producing but there’s no info on the direction the movie is taking, and whether the film will be pitched as a family adventure or a more grown-up movie in the vein of the original comics.

It’s not certain either where this might fit in Liebesman’s schedule, as he’s also attached to Greek epic Odysseus and a movie about Julius Caesar.

Great New Wrath Of The Titans Posters Debut

February 8, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Although we’re still waiting to see whether Wrath Of The Titans can be a bit better story-wise than Clash Of The Titans, it’s certainly got some good artwork (and the trailer wasn’t bad either). We’ve just been sent three new posters for the movie which you can see above and below. Don’t you just love Perseus’ new bouffant hairdo?

Here’s the synopsis: ‘A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year-old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

‘Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’s godly son, Ares, switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’s remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda, Poseidon’s demigod son, Agenor, and fallen god Hephaestus, Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.’ It hits UK cinemas March 30th.

Wrath Of The Titans Trailer – Sam Worthington works up a sweat

December 19, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Last year they clashed and now those Titans are going to have some wrath, with Sam Worthington returning as Perseus on March 30th, 2012. The trailer for the movie has just dropped, which suggests we’re in for more of the same, with lots of derring-do, battling monsters and Liam Neeson being a God. Hopefully though this film will be a little more coherent. Quite why Sam Worthington needs his new hairdo I’m not sure, although I suppose it does make him look more like Harry Hamlin in the original 1980s Clash. Click below to take a look.

First Images From Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters & More

December 3, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

US magazine Entertainment Weekly is in the fortunate position to be big enough that it very often gets the very first images from movies to show off. Its latest issue has a trio of exclusive first looks – Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Wrath Of The Titans and Neighborhood Watch.

The pic above, via EW, is from Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, which stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as grown up versions of the fairy tale characters, who are now in the business of hunting witches. Arterton commented, “You see a series of flashbacks with their experience of killing that first witch, which is brilliant. I remember being on set for the final few days of that. The candy house, and the witches are really repulsive and quite frightening. The make-up is out of this world. It’s this bone-chilling scene. Very dark. The girl who plays my character is brilliant, with the horrified expression she has. This (movie) is about abandonment and being lost and parents leaving you. The heart of it is that these kids grow up to be bloodthirsty witch hunters. It’s a bit tongue in cheek, really. What would Hansel and Gretel be in 15 years time?”

Take a look below for the Neighborhood Watch and Wrath Of The Titans pics, which were scanned from Entertainment Weekly by The Playlist.

Neighborhood Watch stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Richard Ayoade and Jonah Hill as guys who put together a home security group as an excuse to hang out and get away from their families. However they discover a nefarious plot to take over the world! The film’s due out August 22nd, 2012.

Sam Worthington is rocking a lovely bouffant look in the followup to Clash of The Titans. The Jonathan Liebesman directed movie is out March 20th, and sees Perseus heading into the underworld after Zeus is kidnapped.

Clash Of The Titans 3 Already In The Works

November 3, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

Warner Bros must be confident their Clash Of The Titans follow-up, Wrath Of The Titans, is going to be a hit, as they’ve already started work on a third film in the franchise. They’ve hired Dan Mazeau and David Johnson, who also wrote the second movie, to pen Clash of the Titans 3, even though Wrath of the Titans doesn’t hit theaters until March 30th, 2012.

Little is known about the story of Clash of the Titans 3, although THR says insiders claim Toby Kebbell’s Agenor, a sidekick to Sam Worthington’s Perseus in Wrath of the Titans, may feature heavily in Clash of the Titans 3. It is also believed that Wrath of the Titans director Jonathan Liebesman will return for Clash of the Titans 3, although no deal have been worked out quite yet.

However a third film is dependent on the seoncd movie becoming a hit. The first Clash flick grossed nearly $500 million worldwide, and Warner will be hoping Wrath does at least the same.
