Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has already confirmed the return of Sin City stars such as Jessica Alba as Nancy, Mickey Rourke as Marv, and Rosario Dawson as Gail, and now it’s been confirmed that Bruce Willis is also coming back as Hartigan.
Director Robert Rodriguez confirmed the news himself, telling MTV, “Bruce is back, so you’ll be seeing him.”
The director also spoke about Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s new character in the new movie, “We can’t wait for him to come play with us. It’s a new character. He plays a gambler, a very cocky gambler, who comes in and tries to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game. The story is called ‘The Long, Bad Night.’ He beats the wrong guy in a game and bad stuff happens to him.”
One of the roles that has still not been filled yet is The Dame of the title, with Rodriguez saying they have a few people in mind, “We still have The Dame. We have some choices in mind, but we haven’t finalized anything. She doesn’t shoot for a couple more weeks.”
The movie hits cinemas this autumn.
Most films finalise their cast before they shoot, but due to the green screen nature of the Sin City films – where actors don’t even need to be in the same room at the same time to shoot a scene together – Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller seem to be going for an approach which is to see who’s free and then add cast members when they’re needed.
Just yesterday we discovered Joseph Gordon-Levitt had joined the cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and now the roll call of well-known names has grown again, as Josh Brolin and Christopher Meloni have joined the film.

When Sin City was released in 2005, we were initially told two sequels were incoming and they’d both arrive within a couple of years. However its only now in 2012 that cameras are finally starting to roll on a second movie, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
