Transformers: Age Of Extinction Set Pic Shows Off Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor & Nicola Peltz

Transformers-4-pic3
A couple of days ago a new pic of Michael Bay on the Transformers: Age Of Extinction set emerges, and now we’ve got another one. This one shows off the new main human cast, Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor & Nicola Peltz, looking moody in front of an old gas station.

Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, Han Geng, Titus Welliver, T.J. Miller, and Kelsey Grammer also star, and while we’ve been promised Dinobots, there’s not been too much info on the plot, other that it features young woman (Peltz), her dad (Wahlberg), and her racecar driver boyfriend (Reynor).

It’s out next summer.

Transformers 4 Behind-The-Scenes Pic Promises Big, Michael Bay Action

In the run up to the Transformers: Age Of Extinction shoot, it seemed that it was all change. The movie’s got a completely new human cast, with Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz stepping into the fray, while Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel have gone elsewhere.

However the shot above shows many things are staying the same, not least that Michael Bay is in the director’s seat and things are gonna get explosive.

Transformers 4 Will Be Age Of Extinction, And There’s A Poster To Prove It

September 4, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

transformers-4-poster1
While the logo for Transformers 4 was released a few months ago, one thing it was lacking was a subtitle. We’ve already had Revenge Of The Fallen and Dark Of The Moon, so it was a good bet the fourth outing wouldn’t just be Transformers 4.

Now we now it’s going to be called Transformers: Age of Extinction, as revealed on the first teaser poster, which includes the Decepticon insignia merged with a four, set against a desert landscape. There are still few specifics about the plot, although it will feature an all-new human cast. The new title has many thinking it’s a reference to the dinobots, who it’s been confirmed will be in the movie.

Grimlock (Tyrannosaurus rex), Slag (Triceratops), Sludge (Apatosaurus), Snarl (Stegosaurus), Swoop (Pteranodon) and Paddles (Elasmosaurus) will appear, alongside human franchise newcomers Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Nicola Peltz, T.J. Miller and Sophia Myles.

The film is already shooting, with a June 2014 release set.

Transformers-4-pic1
Transformers 4 has been shooting for a while now, and Michael Bay has decided to give us our first look behind-the-scenes at the movie with a pic of him and some of the rest of the cast and crew on the set (there have been previous pics, but they’ve just been of vehicles that will become Autobots and Decepticons.

Pictured left to right are Jack Reynor; Mark Wahlberg; 2nd Assistant B-Camera Casey “Walrus” Howard; 1st Assistant B-Camera John Kairis with back to camera; B-camera Operator Lukasz Bielan; Director Michael Bay; and Director of Photography Amir Mokri.

The movie is set five years after the last one and features an entirely new human cast. Mark Wahlberg plays the father of Nicola Peltz, who is dating Reynor’s race car driver. The film’s out June 27th, 2014.

T.J. Miller Up For Transformers 4, Plus Two New Autobots In Car Form Revealed

May 29, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tj-millerMichael Bay is busy filling out a new human cast for the next Transformers movie, with Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Sophia Miles, Fan Bingbing and Kelsey Grammer already signed up.

Now the director has added one more actor, TJ Miller, according to THR, while two new Autobots have been revealed, in their car forms.

Miller is a stand-up who’s popped up in movies such as Cloverfield, She’s Out Of My League and How To Train Your Dragon. He’ll play the best friend of Mark Wahlberg’s character in Transformers 4.

With production kicking off on location in Monument Valley near the border of Arizona and Utah, Yahoo! Movies also has our first look at two new Autobots, in their car form – a C7 Corvette Stingray and the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse (the latter of which costs $2.4 million!).

There’s no info on which bots these are, although I’m sure fans will have a few guesses. A June 27th, 2014 release date has already been set.

Bingbing Li On For Transformers 4

May 20, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bingbing-liHollywood is very excited about China at the moment, due to the fact it’s fast become one of the biggest markets for cinema in the world. As a result there’s been a rush to include Chinese content in films, such as Iron Man 3, which even got a special cut for the country with extra Chinese scenes.

Transformers 4 is also keen to get in on the action and has promised to include a large number of Chinese actors, including one who’s being found via a reality TV contest. However now the first proper actor from China has been cast, Binbing Li.

There’s no news on who she will play, or indeed how China fits into the plot of the movie. The country is believed to play a fairly large part in film and scenes will be shot there. Bingbing Li will also be seen next year as Blink in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, so she’s going to have quite a blockbuster 2014.

The non-Chinese cast for Transformers 4 film includes Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles.

Brit Actress Sophia Myles Joins Transformers 4

May 7, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

sophia-mylesBritish actress Sophia Myles is one of those people who’s seemed on the verge of breaking big for years, thanks to roles in everything from Thunderbirds to Underworld. Now she’s got what may be her biggest break yet, as she has signed on to star in Transformers 4, according to TheWrap.

Paramount and director Michael Bay haven’t commented on the casting, but insiders claim the actress will play a scientist. She joins a cast that already includes Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, and Kelsey Grammer.

Michael Bay is set to direct from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, with filming starting this summer in Chicago, Detroit, and China.

Kelsey Grammer To Be Transformers 4’s Human Villain

May 2, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

kelsey-grammerIt seems that the Autobots won’t just be battling Decepticons in Transformers 4, as the movie has just cast its primary human villain in the form of Frasier himself, Kelsey Grammer, according to Variety.

The Boss actor will play counter-intelligence agent Harold Attinger, although no details are known about exactly what he’ll be doing in the movie, or how he’ll be causing the sort of trouble that Optimus Prime and co. need to sort out.

He joins a cast that includes Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, and Stanley Tucci.

Michael Bay is directing from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, with shooting scheduled to begin this June. A release date of June 27th, 2014 has already been set.

Transformers 4 Plot Details Revealed, With A Detroit Spring Shoot Announced

March 21, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

transformers-4-logo
Previous reports had suggested that Michael Bay’s was set to shoot Transformers 4 this summer in Chicago, but it’s now been revealed that the action sequel will actually start shooting in Detroit this spring. One of the main reasons for this is that The Michigan Film Board has granted a $20 million incentive on the proposed $81.9 million Paramount plan to spending in the state.

The Film Board has issues a press release about getting the production to their state, which includes the first info on the plot of the movie, which will see a complete overhaul of the human cast. Here it is, ‘As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.’

2007’s Transformers and 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon were both shot in Detroit. It isn’t known how long the production will remain in Michigan, although it does appear the movie will probably also shoot in Chicago, presumably for exteriors and big action sequences. The story, written by Ehren Kruger, will be set four years after the events in 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor are the only confirmed cast members at this point.

Josh Duhamel May Cameo in Transformers 4

March 11, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Josh Duhamel in Transformers

Josh Duhamel in Transformers

Michael Bay has long suggested that Transformers 4 would see a complete overhaul of the human cast (and perhaps new looks for the robots), but Josh Duhamel has now suggested that there may be room for him to return as Major Lennox, as least for a cameo.

Josh told THR, “[Michael] said he wants to put me in it someplace. I don’t know if he was just saying that because he had me on the phone and he felt obligated or what, but you know what? I got to do three of those. It changed my career, it changed my life getting to be a part of something that big, so I’m grateful for even doing the first three of them.”

Last month, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura also said that a Shia LaBeouf cameo may be possible, if something within the story evolves naturally. However, with LaBeouf off being angry and arty, as well as suggesting he’s left Hollywood behind, it seems unlikely he’d want to come back.

At the moment the only confirmed cast members are Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor, with shooting due to start later this year.
