Horrible Bosses 2 Trailer – Jason Bateman, Charlie Day & Jason Sudeikis try to be bosses themselves

July 2, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

horrible-bosses-2-pic1After Horrible Bosses became a hit, it didn’t take long for a sequel to be put into the works. It’s taken a couple of year for it to come to fruition, but now it’s on its way and the trailer has arrived, which you can watch below.

Here’s the synopsis: Fed up with answering to higher-ups, Nick, Dale and Kurt decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business in “Horrible Bosses 2.” But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them. Outplayed and desperate, and with no legal recourse, the three would-be entrepreneurs hatch a misguided plan to kidnap the investor’s adult son and ransom him to regain control of their company.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Prequel Shorts & Alternative Posters Emerge

July 2, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

dawn-of-the-planer-alternative-poster8There’s a 15 year gaps between Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, during which time mankind has been decimated by a terrible virus, leaving room for Caesar and his enhanced-ape army to lay the seeds of their own civilisation.

But what happened in-between the two movies?

Now three short film have emerged to give us a look at some of the events that took place, along with a set of rather cool alternative posters, all of which you can see below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.’

And here’s a little info on the three shorts: [Read more…]

Before I Go To Sleep Trailer – Nicole Kidman & Colin Firth team for a psychological thriller

July 2, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

before-i-go-to-sleep-uk-posterNicole Kidman and Colin Firth have been spending a lot of time together recently, as they played husband and wife in The Railway Man, and now they’ve re-teamed for the psychological thriller Before I Go To Sleep.

Now the first trailer have arrived, which you can watch below.

Rowan Joffe (Brighton Rock) direct the movie, which is a little bit like 50 First Dates turned into a thriller. The movie follows a woman (Kidman) with amnesia who wakes up each day and must re-start her memories by finding out who she is from a journal that she keeps. However as terrifying new truths emerge she is forced to question everyone around her.

Firth is once more playing Kidman’s husband, and he may not be telling her the whole truth.

New Foxcatcher Teaser Trailer – Channing Tatum turns wrestler opposite Steve Carell & Mark Ruffalo

July 2, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Foxcatcher-poster-slideWhen we posted a new poster for Foxcatcher a couple of days ago we noted that the focus seemed to have shifted from Steve Carell – who was the headliner when the film was first announced – to man of the moment Channing Tatum.

That’s just of true of this new teaser trailer, which pretty much suggest it’s all about Channing.

While Carell may be annoyed at being sidelined, he can console himself that following the ecstatic reception the movie received at Cannes, many were already prepared to hand him the Best Actor Oscar, and he remains the current frontrunner.

The film is based on the true tale of Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo), who was murdered by his paranoid schizophrenic friend Jon Du Pont (Carell) in 1996. Du Pont was an heir to the Du Pont chemical company, who teamed up with Dave’s brother Mark (Tatum) to build a wrestling training facility known as ‘Team Foxcatcher’ on his sprawling Pennsylvania estate. The Schultzes tried to get Du Pont help for years before the murder.

Bennett Miller (Capote) directs from a screenplay by Dan Futterman and E. Max Frye. It’s out in the US on December 20th, with a mid-January UK date set.

Take a look at the new teaser below. [Read more…]

Tina Fey Is Developing A Disney Witches Movie, But It’s Not Hocus Pocus 2

July 2, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

hocus-pocus-slideWhen we first posted this story, it was all about how Tina Few had signed up to produce and possibly star in a sequel to 1993’s Hocus Pocus – but now we’ve had to update it as her representatives have stepped forward to say, “Tina is not developing a sequel to Hocus Pocus.”

However it appears it’s a case of crossed wires rather than complete lie, as Variety reports that Fey is working on a film about Witches for Disney, but it isn’t a sequel to Hocus Pocus.

The earlier reports that said it was Hocus Pocus 2 offered a plot synopsis, but it’s not clear if that relates to the film Fey really is working on at all. It was suggested the film focuses on a housewife (who it was said was related to the Hocus Pocus witches) Sandersons who teams up with a witch hunter to save her kids when they encounter a group of resurrected witches on Halloween.

Fey is set to produce and star in the movie, but it appears that sadly it will have nothing to do with Hocus Pocus – although we think on principle they should find a role for Bette Midler.

Enchanted 2 Gets New Writers, Seven Years After The First Film Was Released

July 2, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

enchanted-poster-slideEver since Enchanted became a surprisingly big hit for Disney, taking over $300 million around the world in 2007, there’s been talk of a sequel. However with various writers and directors coming and going, it looked like it would never happen.

The House Of Mouse isn’t giving up though, as they’ve just hired The Smurfs writers J. David Stem and David N. Weiss to come up with a script, according to Deadline. Previously the likes of Jessie Nelson (Because I Said So) has worked on the screenplay, but it’s not known whether Stem and Weiss will start over of work from an already existing draft.

We also have no details about the specific plot either, although it should take us back in the world of fairytale princess Giselle and her New York lawyer beau Robert.

After Giselle ended being banished to our world by her wicked witch stepmother and fell for Robert, they hoped for a happily ever after at the end of the first movie, but they’ll get a new challenge in the sequel.

Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, The Guilt Trip) is currently set to directing, although at the moment it doesn’t appears original Enchanted stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden are officially signed to return.

St. Vincent Trailer – Bill Murray teams up with Melissa McCarthy & Chris O’Dowd

July 1, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

st-vincent-pic1With Melissa McCarthy returning to cinemas with Tammy this week, The Weinstein Company has decided it’s a good time to release the trailer for her next movie, St. Vincent, which sees her team up with Bill Murray, Naomi Watts and Chris O’Dowd.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Maggie (McCarthy), a single mother, moves into a new home in Brooklyn with her 12-year old son, Oliver (Lieberher). Forced to work long hours, she has no choice but to leave Oliver in the care of their new neighbor, Vincent (Murray), a retired curmudgeon with a penchant for alcohol and gambling. An odd friendship soon blossoms between the improbable pair. Together with a pregnant stripper named Daka (Watts), Vincent brings Oliver along on all the stops that make up his daily routine – the race track, a strip club, and the local dive bar. Vincent helps Oliver grow to become a man, while Oliver begins to see in Vincent something that no one else is able to: a misunderstood man with a good heart.’

The film is due out in the US in October, but no UK date is currently set. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

First Look At Kristin Chenoweth’s Take On Maleficent In The Descendants

July 1, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

kristin-chenoweth-descendantsWe’re presuming that Disney spent all of its money for Maleficent clothing on the Angelina Jolie. While Kristin Chenoweth’s version above looks pretty cool = and gives us our look at her as the character in the upcoming Disney Channel movie The Descendants – she does slightly look like she got the eBay knock-off costume.

The film’s synopsis gives us a taste for what to expect from this Disney Channel movie: ‘In a present day idyllic kingdom, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from Disney’s iconic “Beauty and the Beast”) is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to the trouble-making offspring of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar who have been imprisoned on a forbidden island with all the other villains, sidekicks, evil step-mothers and step-sisters.

‘These villainous descendants (Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay, respectively) are allowed into the kingdom to attend prep school alongside the offspring of iconic Disney heroes, including Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan. However, the evil teens face a dilemma. Should they follow in their nefarious parents’ footsteps and help all the villains regain power or embrace their innate goodness and save the kingdom.’

The pic shows Chenoweth as Maleficent opposite Dove Cameron as her daughter, Mal.

Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, Cameron Boyce, Keegan Connor Tracy, Dan Payne, Mitchell Hope, Maz Jobrani, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Kathy Najimy also star, with Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) directing. It should air next year.

First Pics Of Sigourney Weaver & Joel Edgerton In Exodus

July 1, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

exodus-pic5Now that most of the biggest movies of the summer are in cinemas the studios can turn their attention to their major winter offerings, and few are bigger or more of a gamble than Fox’s $200 million dollar take on the talk of Moses, Exodus: Gods and Kings.

The very first image from the film arrived soon after it started shooting last December, but it’s only now we’ve got a few more shots, including out first look at Joel Edgerton’s Pharaoh and Sigourney Weaver as his mother, Tuya.

The story follows Moses (Christian Bale) who goes up against the Pharaoh Ramses so that he can lead the Israelites out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. As Moses grew up in the royal Egyptian court, he had a close relationship to Egyptian ruler Ramses, which goes sour when he takes up the cause of his people.

In response to the inevitable comparisons to Charlton Heston in The 10 Commandments, Christian Bale says, “Charlton Heston does Charlton Heston better than anyone. But the biblical account of Moses is extraordinary, and there was lots of room for us to go to places that [Charlton Heston’s movie] The Ten Commandments never dreamed of going. [There are] No fake beards. There’s nothing mild about the Exodus or Moses.”

It’s due out in December. (Images via EW) [Read more…]

Channing Tatum Looks Moody In The First Foxcatcher Poster

June 30, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Foxcatcher-posterFoxcatcher is already seen by many as the frontrunner for the Best Picture Oscar – although there’s a long way to go and a lot of movies to be released before it gets any prizes. However it undoubtedly got a great response when it premiered at Cannes.

We’ve had a teaser trailer and some pics – both of which have had people commenting on Steve Carell’s fake nose – and now comes the first UK poster, which arrives via The Guardian.

It just goes to show how quickly things change in Hollywood, as when the film was announced, it was Carell who was the headline star with Tatum as solid support. However now it’s Channing who’s front and centre in the first poster, showing just what a box office draw he’s seen as.
