Winona Ryder must have enjoyed being involved in the weirdness of Black Swan, as it seems she wants to make her own version, although with less of a budget, and James Franco making one of his lightly random appearances. Winona stars as a playwright, who begins to mentally unravel before premiere night. She is plagued by dreams and visions of being watched, but cannot decide if she is at the centre of a manipulative plot or simply losing her grip on reality.

For Ellen Trailer – Paul Dano & Jon Heder head for an indie drama
Paul Dano is more interested in making interesting movies than chasing stardom, and that certainly seem true of the indie For Ellen. In the movie he stars as, ‘Aspiring rock star Joby Taylor, who has wanted nothing more than to “make it”, having flirted with fame but never crossed over into true success. In the midst of a low period in his life, he agrees to sign divorce papers with his estranged wife (Margarita Levieva) in order to see money from the sale of their home, only to discover that by signing the papers, he will forfeit all custody of his six-year-old daughter, Ellen (newcomer Shaylena Mandigo). With a good-natured lawyer (Jon Heder) unable to make headway in reversing the decision, and a girlfriend (Jena Malone) that represents an era of his life that he might be ready to graduate from, Joby negotiates a visit with his daughter to explore whether he is able to walk away from his child, and whether it might be too late for reconciliation.’ It hits US cinemas in early September, but no UK release is yet set.

Grace Of Monaco Gets Tim Roth & Frank Langella
Nicole Kidman and Paz Vega have already signed up for Olivier Dahan’s Grace Of Monaco, and now they’ve got a bit of male company, as Variety reports that Tim Roth and Frank Langella have signed up for the movie.
The film concentrates on the time when Monaco was in a conflict with France and Grace Kelly, who by then had given up acting and was the small country’s princess. She worked to prevent a coup, after French president Charles de Gaulle handed Grace’s husband Crown Prince Rainier, a six-month deadline to reform Monaco’s financial laws and status as an extreme tax haven.
Roth will play the prince, while Langella is Father Tucker, the priest who set the couple up and became a close friend. Paz Vega recently signed up to play opera singer Maria Callas, who was having an affair with wealthy Aristotle Onassis at the time.
Dahan plan to film the movie this autumn in France.

Disney Shuts Down Henry Selick’s Latest Stop-Motion Movie
Walt Disney Pictures has decided to shut down production on the Untitled Henry Selick 3D stop-motion project, which was previously set for release in the States on October 4, 2013. The studio notified the 150 employees at Shademaker Productions in San Francisco earlier today.
Back in April 2010 filmmaker Henry Selick (Coraline) signed a deal to make stop-motion features for Walt Disney Pictures and Disney Pixar. This would have been the first movie to come out of that deal. Insiders claim that the movie was behind in production, from both a creative and scheduling perspective. Since it would likely not make its proposed release date, Disney pulled the plug altogether. Production started last summer, although they still have not hired any voice actors.
The filmmaker is now free to shop this project around to other studios. Since Disney never released any promotional materials, the chances are greater that this stop-motion flick can find a new home. The move will reportedly not affect the status of Disney’s The Graveyard Book, an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel that Henry Selick is attached to direct. (Source: Variety)
Daredevil Likely To Return To Marvel, Plus See Joe Carnahan’s Sizzle Reels For His Aborted Reboot
Last week, it was revealed that 20th Century Fox was interested in bringing director Joe Carnahan on board to direct the Untitled Daredevil Reboot. Now the director himself says that the studio shot down his take on the project, meaning the rights to Daredevil will most likely revert back to Marvel Studios.
Here’s what the filmmaker had to say through his Twitter account last night, “Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids. We shall see. Time is NOT on anyone’s side.”
While it was reported last week that Fox was seeking an extension for the looming production deadline of October 10th, before the rights go back to Marvel. However Marvel declined the extension (it’s been said they may have granted it in return for Fantastic 4 related characters like Galactus and Silver Surfer, but Fox didn’t want to give them up). With less than two months to go before the rights change hands, and no director on board, it is almost certain that Marvel will control the fate of the Untitled Daredevil Reboot.
It isn’t known if Marvel has any immediate plans to put Matt Murdock on the silver screen. They already have a full production slate with Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy hitting theaters within the next two years.
Two sizzle reels, giving us a feel for what Carnahan’s take on Daredevil would have been have also popped up on Youtube, and you can watch them below.

Robert Pattinson Joins Queen of the Desert (sadly not a Priscilla sequel)
Robert Pattinson is busy awkwardly doing press for the US release of Cosmopolis and trying to avoid questions about him and Kristen Stewart. He’s also looking to the future as Variety reports he has signed on to star in Queen of the Desert for writer-director Werner Herzog.
Naomi Watts is attached to star as British writer Gertrude Bell in this biopic. The story chronicles her entire life from being one of the first women to graduate from Oxford to her adventures as a writer, explorer, cartographer, archaeologist, and political attaché.
Pattinson will portray T.E. Lawrence, the British officer whose story served as the basis for director David Lean’s 1962 classic Lawrence of Arabia. Lawrence and Bell were longtime friends, who both helped establish the Hashemite dynasties in Jordan and Iraq. Filming is scheduled to begin this autumn.
Kristen Stewart Out Of Snow White Sequel, It’ll Concentrate On The Huntsman Instead
Kristen Stewart isn’t haven’t a good time of it at the moment. After news of her affair with married Snow White And The Hunstman director Rupert Sanders broke, it was clear that at least one of them would have to go from the planned sequel, if only to avoid endless negative press.
Well it appears it’s Kristen who’s gotten the boot, and Universal is now moving forward on a new spin-off that focuses only on Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman, with Kristen Stewart being left by the wayside.
David Koepp was hired in April to craft the sequel. Sources indicate that the studio is buying him out of his contract, since this newly altered project is vastly different than the one he had been hired to write. One insider believes that Rupert Sanders will return to direct, although that is not set in stone yet.
Universal’s original plan was to feature two movies with both Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth’s characters, before creating a spin-off with just the Huntsman. They are currently seeking a new writer, with hopes to start shooting by next July. (Source: THR)
