After the end of the First World War, former soldier Tom Sherbourne (Michael Fassbender) takes a job as the keeper of an isolated lighthouse off the coast of Australia. While he’s hoping for some time alone, he’s surprised to find romance with the young Isabel (Alicia Vikander), who soon becomes his wife. Their happiness on the remote island is hampered by the fact she loses several children during pregnancy.

Fate then intervenes when a boat washes up on the shore with a dead man and a live baby in it. While Tom knows he must signal the mainland about this unexpected development, his wife realises that if they stay silent, no one is likely to question whether the child was theirs or not. The Where The Bears Are Cast Show Some Skin To Try & Get Your Money!

March 11, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A few weeks ago we posted about the fact the gay-themed web series Where The Bears Are is hoping to come back for a sixth season, and had launched a Kickstarter to raise the funds to do it. That crowdfunding campaign is still happening, and to help drum up a little more interest, some of the guys have been taking their clothes off to make fundraising videos.

That means we find fan favourite Ian in the shower – as well as in his underwear in another vid – and there’s also a bevy of the cast’s other burly, hairy guys all taking their shirts off in the hope that a bit of gay bear skin will intrigue people enough to hand over some extra cash. For your pleasure we’ve embedded a few of the vids below. While bears aren’t to everyone’s tastes, we’re sure a few of you will be swooning and thinking about marriage proposals to these furry studs, and looking forwards to the return of the gay mystery web series.

Assuming all goes well, Season 6 will be avialable via Youtube later this year. You can catch up on the first five seasons here, and then head over to the Kickstarter to help here. [Read more…]

Stupid Idiots: Episode 1 – Brian Jordan Alvarez & Stephanie Koenig don’t know what their jobs are

March 11, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Brian Jordan Alvarez and Stephanie Koenig created something special in the world of gay-themed web series with The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo. Now they’re back with Stupid Idiots, which is their take on people who don’t really know what they’re doing in life, and with impossible dreams that don’t really have much to do with reality.

In the first episode, Brian and Stephanie are working in an office, but they have absolutely no idea what their jobs are. However outside work, they’re convinced they’re on the verge of making it big with their creative endeavours.

The duo certainly have great chemistry, probably helped by their real-life friendship. Take a look at ‘Chunk 1’ of Stupid Idiots below (and by the way, if they want to make more Caleb Gallo, we certainly wouldn’t complain). [Read more…]

Deadpool 2 Gets Zazie Beetz As Domino

March 11, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Deadpool 2 will be introducing us to some more new mutants we haven’t seen on the big screen before, and one who’ll be taking a major role is Domino, the expert marksman whose abilities allow her to alter the laws of probability, allowing her to control things such as bullets that are in her field of vision. While a few name have been rumoured for the role, it’s now been revealed that Zazie Beetz will take on the role.

Beetz is best known for starring in Donald Glover’s Atlanta, but this will be by far her highest profile film role so far. Ryan Reynolds revealed the news via the Tweet you can see below.

Now much has been announced about the plot, but it is known that Domino will be a major part of the movie, teaming up with Deadpool, who isn’t likely to want to do much teaming. Some have suggested that bringing Dominio in means Fox is hoping to move things towards an X-Force movie, the superhero team that Domino and sometimes Deadpool is a part of.

Deadpool 2 is expected in cinemas in 2018.

Below Her Mouth Trailer – Take a look at the lesbian-themed film made with an all-female crew

March 9, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There’s been much discussion about the lack of decent roles written for women and about the fact few major movies have been directed by women. However, Below Her Mouth has turned the male-dominated paradigm on its head, with a movie about women, where the entire crew was also female.

It’s just been revealed, via Variety, that the movie is getting a US release on April 28 release in cinemas and on VoD, through distributor Gunpowder & Sky Distribution. It’s already playing in major cinemas in Canada, and screening at film festivals around the world, having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last September.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘BELOW HER MOUTH is a bold, uninhibited drama that begins with a passionate weekend affair between two women. Dallas, a roofer and Jasmine, a fashion editor, share a powerful and immediate connection that inevitably derails both of their lives.’

April Mullen directed the movie from a script by Stephanie Fabrizi. “‘Below Her Mouth’ offers a fresh, raw and honest look into the electrifying connection between two people through the female gaze,” Mullen comments. “I’m thrilled to share the film with U.S. audiences and celebrate love is love.” [Read more…]

First Look At Jurassic World 2 Sees A Young Girl Confronting The Dinosaurs

March 8, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While it was clear before Jurassic World was released, that plenty of people were keen for another Jurassic Park movie, but few people expected it to be so successful it would gross $1.6 billion, and become the third highest grossing movie ever worldwide (although it’s since been overtaken by The Force Awakens). It also ensured that another movie would be made, and now shooting on Jurassic World 2 is underway.

To prove it, director Juan Antonio Bayona has tweeted the first picture from the movie, which features a young girl staring down a bunch if dinosaur skeletons. It’s not known who the girl is, but some have speculated it’s a character called Lucy, due to a casting call that was put out.

Indeed, not many details have been released about the movie, although it appears the movie might deal with other dinosaur hybrids that have been developed, with the hope of weaponising the creatures, as well as those who want to liberate the dinos. The film will be in cinemas in June 2018. [Read more…]

Jason Momoa Up For Just Cause Film Adaptation, With Brad Petyon Directing

March 8, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Video game to movie adaptations may not have a great reputation, but Hollywood can’t give up on the idea that their might be a lot of money to be made from them. One of the latest that’s in the work, is a movie version of Just Cause.

Deadline reports that Jason Momoa is set to star in the film, with Brad Peyton directing. Game Of Thrones star Momoa has been on on the verge of breaking massively for quite a while, and the makers of Just Cause will be hoping that the fact he is soon to be seen as Aquaman will make him an even bigger name.

Peyton meanwhile is coming off two movie that made far more money that most people realise, Journey 2 and San Andreas. Next up he’s helming another videogame inspired film, Rampage, which will reunite him with Dwayne Johnson. The movie will come before Just Cause.

The Just Cause movie, ‘like the game, follows Rico Rodriguez (Momoa) who is an operative for an organization known as the Agency. The plot of the movie is under wraps but it is expected to deal in some way with Rico’s crisis of conscience while on a mission.’

Eva Green May Star In Tim Burton’s Live-Action Dumbo Movie

March 8, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

One of the more intriguing of Disney’s planned live-action adaptations is Dumbo, partly due to having Tim Burton in the directing chair, and partly due to the fact in the original animated movie, the main character couldn’t talk, even though various other animals could. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle it on the big-screen, and exactly what the expanded role for the human characters will be.

One of those humans may be Eva Green, as Variety reports that she’s in early talks for the movie. She would play the female lead, although it’s not known exactly how she’ll fit into the story. Disney will be hoping they can close this deal, as they’ve been having trouble filling out the male roles, as deals with both Will Smith and Chris Pine have fallen through in the past couple of months (Tom Hanks was also rumoured, but he doesn’t seem involved anymore either).

The plot of the film will revolve both around the baby elephant with enormous ears, as well as some children that befriend him. Disney is hoping to shoot the movie this year, with a late 2018 or 2019 release expected.

Misguided: Episodes 6&7 – The gay-themed web series about soap opera’s biggest fan returns

March 7, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Last year we posted the first season of Misguided, which at the time was raising funds for Season 2. Now the first two episodes of the follow-up have been released, and you can take a look at them below.

The five-part series Season 2, created by and starring, Paul Gosselin,  pairs soap opera legends, Jean Carol (Nadine, Guiding Light) and Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie, General Hospital) in its opening episode. Both Carol and Zeman were nominated alongside each other at the 1995 Daytime Emmy Awards and over two decades later the soap stars have reunited in this online comedy, soap opera spoof.

Misguided follows the adventures of Paul, a soap opera fan with aspirations of one day appearing on his favorite daytime drama, Guiding Light. Unfortunately with the cancellation of GL, his dream seemed to come to an end, until his character meets ‘Jeva Jones’ played by Jean Carol, who submits him for a role in a CBS Daytime reboot of Guiding Light. In the first episode of Misguided: Part II, Jacklyn Zeman arrives as Paul’s soap opera loving mother, ‘Mo,’ who interrupts Paul while he’s in bed with his arch nemesis, ‘Bauer McBride,’ portrayed by Christopher Robert Smith.

“Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine sitting on my couch, wearing short shorts, and acting alongside daytime royalty, Jacklyn Zeman,” said Gosselin, “it’s been an amazing experience.”

The final three episodes of show’s second outing will be released on YouTube over the next couple of weeks. [Read more…]

Gay-Themed Web Series Old Dogs & New Tricks May Return, But Only With Your Help

March 7, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

For quite a while there’s been talk about a fourth and final season for the popular gay-themed web series Old Dogs & New Tricks. Last year we got the half-hour special, ‘Where Were YOU When The Rights Went ON?’, but sadly the funding hasn’t quite been there to get the final season in the can. Now though the makers are hoping to secure the cash they need, and they’ve launched a GoFundMe campaign to help them.

The show’s creator, Leon Acord, has confirmed that the show can only go on if they raise the necessary funds. The 53-year-old gay actor/writer, who stars as neurotic talent agent Nathan Adler, also states the forthcoming five-episode season of the West Hollywood-based comedy about four middle-aged gay best friends will, “absolutely, positively” be its last.

“I thought we’d already said goodbye last year, with our special celebrating marriage equality, ‘Where Were YOU When the RIGHTS Went ON?'” Acord says. “It was a very good show, and we left the characters in a great place. But now it feels ancient. We’ve gone from giddy-over-gay-marriage to traumatized-by-Trump.”

Acord says that fan reaction is another reason for the revival. “So many told me they need some comedy, some comfort, that we have a responsibility to continue to represent LGBT in positive ways during this unnerving time in our history.”

The show also received an unexpected boost in popularity this past December, an indirect result of Acord’s very public dust-up with Brady Bunch’s Susan Olsen. Acord called out the former child star-turned-radio personality on social media for her pro-Trump views after appearing on her radio show. The former child star countered with an email in which she called Acord a “f@ggot” (among other insults). Acord posted her email on Facebook. Olsen was fired and the story went viral.

Still, despite the change in the country’s political temperature, viewer demand and new-found interest in the show, Acord was hesitant. “We created our GoFundMe page months ago, but I wanted to wait until after all the campaign furor cleared to begin fundraising. Ha! The election turned out as it did, and online outrage is now louder than ever!”

While last year’s special flash-backed to show “the boys” on that historic summer day in 2015 when marriage equality became law, the series will jump ahead to present day when it returns. Acord hints the final five-episode season will reflect the current state of the country, and the anxiety in the LGBTQ community, “without becoming heavy or preachy.” We’ll learn that Nathan is suffering from nightmares, Muscles has been inspired to volunteer for Southern Poverty Law Center, Brad was asked to perform at Trump’s Inauguration, and that one character even voted for Trump, among other revelations.

“But we’re still basically be the same show we’ve always been, about four middle-aged friends struggling with work and relationships and helping each other grow up. But this time, we’ll finally see some real growth, as we sign off with a suitable series finale.

If you you’d like to help out, head over to GoFundMe, and you can watch the previous three seasons of the series at odnt.tv. You can also take a look at the new fundraising video below. [Read more…]
