Go-Go Boy Interrupted: S2, Ep4 – Danny finds out about drag queen dilemmas

April 26, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

go-go-boy-interrupted-s2-ep4As you’d hope for a web series called Go-Go Boy Interrupted, Jimmy Fowlie’s show is often good at flashing some flesh. For this episode they bring in a master of it with Andrew Christian boy Pablo Hernandez showing off his acting skills – while only wearing some bulge inducing undies of course.

The ep also features Drew Droege, who lets us into some of the problems of drag queens, while being very bitchy. There’s also time for Danny to get a blast from the past when he meets someone he used to go to school with.

It is all slightly random, but it’s a fun episode, so take a look at it below. And if you need to catch up with early episodes of Go-Go Boy Interrupted, you can click here to find them. [Read more…]

Apropos Of Nothing: Hunky Aussie Firefighters Take Off Their Shirts & Pick Up Puppies

April 25, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

aussie-firefighters-puppiesI think I need to learn the rules of sexism a little more, because I’m pretty sure that is the pictures below were of women we’d be decrying them as sexist and offensive. However, when it’s guys with puppies, it’s ok – or at least that’s my argument, and I’m sticking with it!

The pics are for the Firefighters Calendar Australia, which has raised over $1 million over the years by showing the world just how gorgeous many Aussie firemen are. This year, just in case a ridiculous amount of chiselled chins, defined pecs and rippling six-pack weren’t enough, they’ve upped the ante by bringing puppies and kittens into the mix. And to make the ‘awww’ factor go off the chart, they’re rescue animals from the Safe Haven Animal Rescue.

This year the calendar is raising money for the Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Westmead Children’s Hospital’s burns unit. You can buy a copy here. Take a look at some of the pics below, which shows how great the guys look with or without animals. [Read more…]

#Adulting Episode 2 – Ben Baur’s comedic, gay-themed web series returns, & it needs your help

April 25, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

adulting-s2Back in January we posted the first episode of Adulting, featuring Hunting Season’s Ben Baur and hi friend Thandi Tolmay as gay and straight friends having to deal with the fact they’re now grown ups – whether they want to be or not.

Now, with a Kickstarter campaign running to raise money to finish the season, comes Episode 2. The episode, called Hipster Hell Hail Mary, sees Faye (Tolmay) out on a date which quickly starts to go hideously wrong. Luckily, Max (Baur) is literally on call to help her out – or at least to make things a hell of a lot more dramatic!

Tolmay comments, “We kind of take a swing at a wide variety of things in this episode.. But internet dating and hipster culture definitely take the hardest hit. My character Faye is not a classic ingénue leading lady. She can be a little rough around the edges and has very low tolerance for pretention and b.s. You see her take her best optimistic try at dating and fail.”

Baur and Tolmay created, write and star in the show, which is directed by TJ Marchbank . The three have been friends for going on 10 years after meeting at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where they all graduated together.

Take a look at #Adulting Episode 2 below. And if you want to see more, go help out at the Kickstarter campaign. [Read more…]

Final X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer – Can a mutant destroy the entire world?

April 25, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

x-men-apocalypse-slideIn just a few weeks the mutants are returning and facing the awesome power of Apocalypse – an ancient mutant who is so powerful he has been worshipped as a god, and who isn’t impressed with the modern world. The final trailer is here to suggest this is going to be pretty epic.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.’

It’ll be in cinemas on May 18th. [Read more…]

Four Moons (Cuatro Lunas) (DVD Review)

April 24, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Alejandro de la Madrid, Antonio Velázquez, Cesar Ramos, Gustavo Egelhaaf
Director: Sergio Tovar Velarde
Running Time: 110 mins
Certificate: 18
Release Date: April 25th 2016 (UK)

It’s taken a while for Four Moons to get to the UK, but now it’s here and it’s worth the wait. The film is based around a concept that could have overwhelmed the movie itself, but thankfully it works due to care that’s taken with the stories it tells.

Four Moons follows four separate gay-themed tales, each focusing on a different time in life and the stages of relationships. The ‘New Moon’ is an adolescent who is just figuring out his sexuality and isn’t sure what to do with his feelings for his cousin. However, acting on those feelings may backfire and cause him major trouble. There are also two young men, one straight and the other closeted but just out of a relationship with a man. These old friends end up sleeping together and embark on a relationship, but tension quickly arises due to the fact one of them is adamant that no one else should ever know about what is going on, as he is terrified of what others will think and whether it will hurt his family. Starring: Jane Anderson, Tess Ayers
Director: Michelle Boyaner
Running Time: 74 mins
Certificate: NR
Release Date: April 26th 2016 (US)

When she was a girl, artist and director Jane Anderson’s mother found a hoard of art packed away in trunks in an attic. It was the work of Jane’s great aunt, Edith Lake Wilkinson, and as a result Jane grew up surrounded by Edith’s painting, which helped her find her own visual sense.

Decades later Janes sets out to find out more about Edith, as well as to discover her place in the world of early 20th Century Provincetown art. The main thing they know about Edith is that she spent the last years of her life institutionalised, but they don’t know why. They also know she had a female companion, Fanny, who they presume was actually her lover. [Read more…]

New Independence Day: Resurgence Trailer – Once again, no landmark is safe from the aliens

April 24, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

independence-day-resurgence-slideHaving talked about it ever the first Independence Day became a gargantuan hit in 1996, we are finally getting a sequel, Resurgence. Many of the old face return, including Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox and Brent Spiner, along with a new generation, led by Jessie Usher and Liam Hemsworth.

Will Smith isn’t returning, but the aliens sure are, and this promo certainly wants to be a bit dark and moody, although right at the end suggests it will retain the humour that helped make the first one a hit. They’re also certainly keen to suggest that things are getting bigger.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale.  Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet.  But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force.  Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.’

Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Cafe Society Trailer – Jesse Eisenberg & Kristen Stewart star in Woody Allen’s latest

April 24, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

cafe-society-slideEven when Woody Allen doesn’t star in his own movies, there tends to be a stand-in for him, and it has to be said, he’s picked a good on for Cafe Society in the form of Jesse Eisenberg. Re-teaming him with the often wooden Kristen Stewart may not have been as good an idea, but we will see.

Ahead of the movie’s debut at Cannes, the first trailer has now arrived.

Eisenberg plays Bobby, a young man who relocates to Hollywood in the hopes of pursuing a career in film. Once there, he falls in love and becomes captivated by the lush Hollywood scene. Steve Carell, Blake Lively, Parker Posey and Jeannie Berlin also star.

Interestingly, after holding out for years and suggesting he’s always stick with digital film, Cafe Society marks Woody’s first film shot on digital. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Win James Franco In True Deception On DVD!

April 24, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

TRUE_DECEPTIONTo celebrate the release of TRUE DECEPTION – available on DVD 25th April – we have a copy to giveaway.

A stellar ensemble cast of James Franco (127 Hours), Ed Harris (Snowpiercer), Amber Heard (The Danish Girl), and Christian Slater (True Romance) stars in this semi-autobiographical story about a writer’s obsession with his own past and a real-life murder case. An unnerving thriller packed with stunning performances, shock twists, and psychological tension.

Director Pamela Romanowsky has also done a fantastic job in her feature debut, crafting a film that’s equally dark and complex as the source book, Stephen Elliot’s acclaimed memoir ‘The Adderall Diaries’.

With its flashbacks and non-linear narrative, True Deception will have you second-guessing Elliot’s story every step of the way and promises to be one of the year’s most psychologically affecting thrillers. Not to be missed.
