Crush Of The Day: Matthew Lewis Banishes Thoughts Of Neville Longbottom By Stripping To His Undies

May 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Matthew-Lewis-attitude-slideSometimes the only appropriate response to something is, ‘Holy crap’, and I think this is one of those times. We were already aware that Matthew Lewis had long laid to rest the ghost of Neville Longbottom by winning puberty amongst the Harry Potter cast.

However now he’s taken part in a photoshoot for Attitude where he sheds his clothes and shows he is hot all over – including one underwear pic that may make your eyes pop out by leaving very little to the imagination.

He took part in the cover shoot to help promote his new movie role in the film Me Before You, which included an intense physical workout regime that’s ensured he looks as good as he does. It’s certainly worked for him, even if he doesn’t think he’s particularly hot himself, saying of the attention that he got at the premiere of the final Harry Potter movie, “I was excited I guess to go on the red carpet on the release of the last film and be me, and not to have to have the fat suit under my t-shirt. It was quite an exciting buzz. I was 21, I was like ‘Yeah, this’ll be cool!’ It was never meant to be a “hey everyone, look at me!” but it was nice to be able to go and be myself. And then obviously a lot of attention focused on it, which I didn’t expect at all. I’ve never considered myself to be good-looking at all. Just average.”

The new images even seem to have caught JK Rowling off-guard, who tweeted:

.@Mattdavelewis Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close. Warn me next time, for God's sake. https://t.co/r8EUd1GKqT

Jane Fonda Says She Once Mistakenly Assumed Warren Beatty Was Gay

May 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

warren-beatty-youngNowadays Warren Beatty is known for being one of cinema’s greatest ladies men, but it appears he didn’t always come across that way to everyone, as while talking to W Magazine, Jane Fonda says that at one point her gaydar went a bit wonky as she thought he was gay.

And as a blow to his manhood, her assumption didn’t come from looking at him from afar, but was partly due to a 1959 screen test they had together where it appears his kissing didn’t convince her of his love of the ladies. She says of the test that they “were thrown together like two lions in a cage and kissed until we had practically eaten each others’ heads off.”

She admits she doesn’t remember much else about it, but adds, “I thought Warren was gay. He played piano, and all his friends were gay.”

She’s not completely wrong either, as it’s known that his friendships with gay playwrights such as William Inge and Tennessee Williams helped his early career and his transition from the stage to Hollywood, although with the likes of Annette Bening, Natalie Wood, Joan Collins, Julie Christie, Madonna and Diane Keaton as notches on his bedpost, it seems clear his reputation as a ladies man isn’t undeserved.

Fonda was being interviewed about her new Netflix show Grace & Frankie, which sees her and Lily Tomlin playing women dealing with the fact their husbands (Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) have both come out of the closet and run off with one another.

Tomorrowland: A World Beyond (Cinema Review)

May 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie
Director: Brad Bird
Running Time: 130 mins
Certificate: 12A
Release Date: May 22nd 2015 (UK)

I love sci-fi and to say I was looking forward to this film is an understatement. I am a huge fan of Brad Bird’s previous work, The Incredibles (2004), and his first live action film, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), is one of the best entries in the franchise.

His films have a trademark sense of kinetic fun and action, mixed with well-formed characters and witty dialogue, which is the perfect mix for any summer blockbuster.

Tomorrowland tells the story of Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) a highly optimistic girl with smarts who has dreamt of travelling to the stars. She is arrested whilst trying to sabotage the dismantling of Cape Canaveral’s Launchpad, and upon release she discovers a mysterious pin which by touch transports her to the scientific and artistic wonder that is Tomorrowland (think Epcot designed by Apple and Syd Mead, complete with a hoverrail (hover meaning hover, rail meaning rail)). Magic Mike XXL Gets A Shirtless New Poster

May 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

magic-mike-xxl-new-posterI know this will come as a surprise to most of you, but in Magic Mike XXL, Channing Tatum and his cast-mates will be taking their shirts off! To make sure we’re aware of this, following previous shirtless posters and a very shirtless trailer, a new poster has arrived, where once more the poor guys don’t have enough money to afford clothes to cover their nipples.

Take a look at it above (and it has to be said, Matt Bomer is looking really good!).

Here’s the synopsis: ‘“Magic Mike” stars Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias are reuniting for the hotly anticipated sequel “Magic Mike XXL”. Joining the returning cast, in brand new roles, will be Elizabeth Banks (“The Hunger Games” franchise), Donald Glover (“Community”), Amber Heard (“The Rum Diary”), Andie MacDowell (“Footloose”), Jada Pinkett Smith (“Gotham”) and Michael Strahan (“Live with Kelly and Michael”).

‘Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.’

It’ll be in cinemas in July.

Batkid Begins Trailer – The true story of a little boy whose dream became a feelgood viral sensation

May 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Batkid-beginsSynopsis: It’s November 15, 2013.Twenty-five thousand people descend on San Francisco. Online, two billion others join in. This massive crowd erupts with a collective display of public emotion rarely seen. With a Beatlemania-like intensity, people take to the streets and screens. They are all united to fulfill the wish of 5-year-old Miles Scott, who is recovering from Leukemia. It is his dream to become Batkid and save Gotham City. Untitled BatKid Documentary chronicles the making of the overnight international phenomenon that is BatKid.

The film reveals what happens when an event goes unintentionally viral. Will the San Francisco Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfill its mission to help Miles reclaim his childhood after battling disease for more than half his short life? Or will the event itself spiral out of control; consume the organization, scare Miles and shut down an entire city?

Audiences will come along as Patricia Wilson, executive director of the San Francisco Make-A-Wish chapter, and her team – in true superhero spirit – tackle the monster they created.

Before BatKid, the largest crowd Patricia had organized was 300. She posts an RSVP on her website. Immediately 7,000 sign up. Soon the number is growing at 1,000 people a day, overwhelming Patricia’s team. Will the young boy’s dream
get lost in a nightmare?

This film shows what can happen when people come together in the spirit of “Yes! And….”

Everyone Patricia and company approach say “Yes!” And even take the request a step further.

Featring exclusive illuminating interviews with all the main players including executives at Twitter and Apple, the film reveals surprising truths about what happens when a nerve is touched in our digital society.

The film looks at the “why” of this phenomenon. Why did the intense outpouring of spontaneous support for a five-year-old reverberate around the world? In the end, the film leaves audiences to decide; did Miles need the world for inspiration? Or did the world need Miles? [Read more…]

Peter Sarsgaard Will Be The Magnificent Seven Remake’s Villain

May 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

peter-sarsgaardThe cast of Antoine Fuqua’s remake of The Magnificent Seven is nearly complete, with Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Luke Grimes, Wagner Moura, Byung-hun Lee and Vincent D’Onofrio as the titular septet, and the likes of Haley Bennett and Matt Bomer joining.

What’s been slightly more difficult is getting the bad guys, as while Jason Momoa was supposed to be one of them, he’s now out, but Deadline reports that Peter Sarsgaard is now in final talks to play the main villain in the movie.

In this new takes on the classic tale, seven gunslingers are hired by a young woman (Bennett), to protect a town and it’s nearby gold mine from a wild west villain (Sarsgaard) and his henchmen, who have killed the woman’s husband (Bomer).

The film shoots soon for a January 2017 release.

Chris Pratt Simply Can’t Understand Why Anyone Would Be ‘Offended By Me Just Taking My Junk Out’

May 19, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

chris-pratt-gq-pic3-slideIt seems Chris Pratt likes being naked, and for that we can only say, ‘hooray’. The only upsetting thing about this fact is that while he’s keen to let the world know that he’s not very good at wearing clothes, we’ve yet to see evidence of this on-screen (unpixelated, at least).

While talking to GQ about the upcoming Jurassic World, he says of his youth, “I was a jokester, I had a dirty mind, and a dirty sense of humor. And I was naked a lot. I was naked all the time. It was just recently, in the last few years since I’ve become an adult, that I’ve learned to keep my clothes on. And even then, I really haven’t. I got yelled at by NBC for getting naked.”

The yelling happened during a scene in Parks and Recreation where Pratt was supposed to appear naked in a doorway, but for filming was meant to wear something to cover his modesty. However for one take he didn’t bother.

It turns out NBC weren’t impressed though, “They sent me a letter,” Pratt says, “HR sent me a letter. Someone obviously must have complained about it or something. I guess now that I don’t work for them, I can make fun of it, but part of the letter was saying, like, ‘Also, don’t mock this. Just so we’re clear, you’re being reprimanded, and don’t go around talking about how this is funny.’ [It was] the take they fucking used, by the way, that made the air, and was hilarious, so I was totally right, but apparently if you want to get naked there’s certain protocols you have to take to prevent people from being offended—you have to give them the opportunity to not see it”

However that wasn’t the only trouble he’s gotten into due to for his penchant for nudity, saying “I got suspended from the track team in high school for getting naked on the track bus. I was always getting naked. I thought it was hilarious. I didn’t understand how somebody could be so offended by me just taking my junk out.”

Neither can we Chris, neither can we.

You can take a look at a few pics from Chris’ GQ shoot below (and is it just me, or is he looking surprisingly like he’s been melded with Paul Rudd?). [Read more…]

The New Hedwig Has Been Chosen In The Form Of Taye Diggs

May 19, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

taye-diggsEvery few months it’s time to announce a new actor to play the title role in the Broadway production of Hedwig And The Angry Inch, and now it’s happened again – and they haven’t disappointed. We’ve had Neil Patrick Harris, Andrew Rannells, Michael C. Hall, John Cameron Mitchell and currently Darren Criss, and next up it’s time for the former Mr. Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs.

While Diggs is best known to many for his roles in TV’s Private Practice and Murder In The First, he has a great musical theatre pedigree, having first really been noticed as part of the original cast of Rent (and it’s quite scary that he doesn’t look like he’s aged a day since then) and also appeared in the likes of Chicago (both on stage and in the movie version). However this will be his first Broadway role since briefly appearing in Wicked 12 years ago.

Diggs is the first African-American actor to take on the role of the East German title character, who was left with an angry inch after a botched sex change operation that she had in order to get into the US with her American GI lover. Hedwig then started dating young Tommy Gnosis, who left her behind when he took her music and became a rock star – leaving her understandably bitter (but still very funny), and ready to recount her tale for the audience.

Taye has signed up for a 12 week stint in the show, starting July 22nd.

We Are Your Friends Trailer – Zac Efron sets out to be a DJ

May 19, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

we-are-your-friendsI thought a miracle was going to occur and they were going to manage to make a trailer for a Zac Efron movie where he didn’t take his shirt off once, but then it gets towards the end and there he is in bed and then jumping into a pool with his nipples on show once more.

Those Hollywood marketeers just can’t resist it!

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The film marks Max Joseph’s (MTV’s “Catfish: The TV Show”) feature film directorial debut, and stars Zac Efron (“Neighbors”), Emily Ratajkowski (upcoming “Entourage,” “Gone Girl”) and Wes Bentley (“Interstellar,” “The Hunger Games”).

“We Are Your Friends” is about what it takes to find your voice. Set in the world of electronic music and Hollywood nightlife, an aspiring 23-year-old DJ named Cole (Efron) spends his days scheming with his childhood friends and his nights working on the one track that will set the world on fire. All of this changes when he meets a charismatic but damaged older DJ named James (Bentley), who takes him under his wing. Things get complicated, however, when Cole starts falling for James’ much younger girlfriend, Sophie (Ratajkowski). With Cole’s forbidden relationship intensifying and his friendships unraveling, he must choose between love, loyalty, and the future he is destined for.

The movie is due out in August. [Read more…]
