Book Club (DVD Review) – A cast of living legends reads Fifty Shades of Grey

For decades four female friends have been getting together for a monthly book club. However, while this started when they were in their youth, they now all facing the fact they’re aging. Diane (Diane Keaton) is a relatively recent widow being pressured by her daughters to move to nearer to them in Arizona, as they think she’s too old to manage by herself. Carol (Mary Steenburgen) is stuck in a rut with her husband, while federal judge Sharon (Candice Bergen) has completely given up on the idea of either love or sex. Finally there’s Vivian (Jane Fonda), a woman who’s never had a problem finding sex but has always disdained the idea of settling down with one person.

Rather than their typical book club novels, the quartet decide to read Fifty Shades Of Grey. After discovering the Red Room shenanigans that Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele get up to, the four women start to shake up their own lives. Book Club Trailer – Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda & Candice Bergen get into 50 Shades Of Grey

You’ve certainly got to hope that with a cast including Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen, Book Club will be a lot of fun. It’s also got a potentially fun concept, with the quartet of actress playing friends who’ve started a book club to improve their minds.

However, they get more than expected when they start reading 50 Shades Of Grey, which opens their minds to new possibilities. Craig T. Nelson, Andy Garcia and Don Johnson also star in the movie, which is due in cinemas in May.

New Home Again Trailer – Reese Witherspoon ends up with an unexpected chosen family

Reese Witherspoon returns to the genre she’s had the greatest success with – the rom-com – with Home Again. However, she’s grown up a bit since Legally Blonde, as she’s now playing a woman who’s recently become a single mom and decides to change her life.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘HOME AGAIN stars Reese Witherspoon (Wild, This Means War, Legally Blonde) as Alice Kinney in a modern romantic comedy. Recently separated from her husband (Michael Sheen, Passengers, Nocturnal Animals), Alice decides to start over by moving back to her hometown of Los Angeles with her two young daughters, and struggles to get her fledgling design career off the ground whilst also navigating the family’s new life. During a night out on her 40th birthday, Alice meets three young, charismatic filmmakers (Nat Wolff, Pico Alexander and Jon Rudnitsky) who she decides to take in while they try their hand in Hollywood. An unconventional family dynamic emerges, leading them all on an unexpected journey of discovery.

Home Again Trailer – Reese Witherspoon heads back to rom com land

Reese Withspoon saw much of her early success in a string of rom coms, and now she’s headed back into the genre with Home Again. Michael Sheen, Candice Bergen, and Lake Bell also star.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘HOME AGAIN stars Reese Witherspoon (Wild, This Means War, Legally Blonde) as Alice Kinney in a modern romantic comedy. Recently separated from her husband (Michael Sheen, Passengers, Nocturnal Animals), Alice decides to start over by moving back to her hometown of Los Angeles with her two young daughters. During a night out on her 40th birthday, Alice meets three aspiring filmmakers (Nat Wolff, Pico Alexander and Jon Rudnitsky) who happen to be in need of a place to live. Alice agrees to let the guys stay in her guest house temporarily, but the arrangement ends up unfolding in unexpected ways. Alice’s unlikely new family and new romance comes to a crashing halt when her ex-husband shows up, suitcase in hand.
