Jon Hamm, Kevin Hart & Sarah Silverman In Talks For The Incredible Mr. Limpet

July 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jon-hammNow that Richard Linklater’s 12-year odyssey to make Boyhood is out of the way, he’s moving full steam ahead with the long-gestating remake of the 1964 animated comedy The Incredible Mr. Limpet.

Zach Galifianakis is already attached to star, but he now likely to get some impressive company, as TheWrap reports that Jon Hamm, Kevin Hart, Danny McBride, Sarah Silverman, Josh Gad, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele are all in talks for the movie.

The part live-action, part animated 1964 original starred Don Knotts as a man who wishes he was a fish (doesn’t everyone?), which then becomes true. The first version is set during World War II, where Limpet goes off to fight the Nazis, although this new version will be told in a contemporary setting.

Zach Galifianakis will play the lead role of Henry, with Jon Hamm as the main villain. Danny McBride and Sarah Silverman are likely to get live action roles, while Kevin Hart, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele are expected to voice sea creatures.

John Krasinski Joins Bradley Cooper In Cameron Crowe’s Next

October 22, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

john-krasinskiCameron Crowe is busy lining up a great cast for his next movie. He’s already got Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel and Alec Baldwin, and now THR says that he’s also in the process of adding John Krasinski.

The new movie is about a defence contractor (Bradley Cooper) who is overseeing the launch of a weapons satellite in Hawaii. He ends up falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone), and together they secretly plan to sabotage the launch. Giving things a slightly sci-fi flavour, the movie also features mysterious island forces and a talking computer.

Krasinski will apparently play “a military man married to McAdams, who is playing Cooper’s ex-wife.” Cameron Crowe is directing from his own original screenplay.

Fresh This Is The End Red Band Trailer – More fun from Seth Rogen’s star-studded directorial debut

April 2, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s tough to tell whether This Is The End is going to be as fun as it looks, or if the whole thing will be a giant in-joke that it’ll be tough for general audiences to get into.

The likes of James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson play versions of themselves in the film, who are trapped in Franco’s house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

As this new red band trailer reveals, there’s also room for Emma Watson, and Hermione is going to steal all their shit! The movie arrives in cinemas this June.

Danny McBride Plans Remake Of Danish Comedy Clown

April 14, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Danny McBride’s film career hasn’t quite hit the heights that many expected it to, but he’s had huge amounts of deserved kudos for the series Eastbound & Down, which will finish its three season run on US TV this weekend. That’ll give him time to concentrate on his movie career, and he’s now joining forces with producer Todd Phillips for a remake of the Danish comedy Clown.

The Eastbound & Down actor will write, produce, and star in the movie. The original Scandinavian movie spawned from a TV series, and follows Casper and Frank who are planning a party-heavy vacation. Their plans are thrown asunder when Frank has to take his girlfriend’s 11-year-old son with them on the trip. He’s supposed to be proving he’s a good father, but continues to party even with the young boy in tow.

The Hangover helmer Todd Phillips is only attached to produce at this point, and is not set to direct. Danny McBride will start writing the script immediately, but it isn’t know when it might shoot. (Source: Deadline)
