Ralph Break The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 Trailer – The videogame ‘baddie’ is back & headed for the net

February 28, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Before the release of Wreck-It Ralph, there were plenty of people shaking their heads and saying it was evidence that Disney animation had lost its way. However, it turned out to be the beginning of a critical and box office rennaisance that’s continued with the likes of Frozen and Moana. Its $470 million worldwide gross also means we’re getting a sequel.

Here’s the brief synopsis: ‘Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) navigate the vast and dynamic world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s game, Sugar Rush.’

The film is currently fue out November 30th, 2018 in the UK. Take a look at the brand new trailer below. [Read more…]

New Battle Of The Sexes Trailer – Emma Stone’s Billie Jean King struggles with her sexuality as she takes on Steve Carell

June 24, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The 2013 documentary The Battle Of The Sexes reignited interested in a moment in tennis history that electrified the US back in 1973. Indeed, the doc sparked rival movies to go into development, with Fox Searchlight backing one starring Emma Stone and Steve Carell, while HBO was planning their own movie about the event. While the latter doesn’t look like it’s happening anymore, the trailer for the former has now arrived.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the wake of the sexual revolution and the rise of the women’s movement, the 1973 tennis match between women’s World #1 Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) and ex-men’s-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell) was billed as the BATTLE OF THE SEXES and became one of the most watched televised sports events of all time, reaching 90 million viewers around the world. As the rivalry between King and Riggs kicked into high gear, off-court each was fighting more personal and complex battles. The fiercely private King was not only championing for equality, but also struggling to come to terms with her own sexuality, as her friendship with Marilyn Barnett (Andrea Riseborough) developed. And Riggs, one of the first self-made media-age celebrities, wrestled with his gambling demons, at the expense of his family and wife Priscilla (Elisabeth Shue). Together, Billie and Bobby served up a cultural spectacle that resonated far beyond the tennis court, sparking discussions in bedrooms and boardrooms that continue to reverberate today.

BATTLE OF THE SEXES also stars Sarah Silverman (‘Masters of Sex’), Bill Pullman(The Equalizer) and Golden Globe® nominee Alan Cumming (‘The Good Wife’).’

The film is due out in the UK on October 20th. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

The Book Of Henry Trailer – Colin Trevorrow moves from dinosaurs to drama/thriller territory

March 31, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Colin Trevorrow had a monster hit with Jurassic World, but rather than staying in the world of dinosaurs or immediately making another mega-budget movie, he decided to helm The Book Of Henry. Not the trailer has arrived, which starts off suggesting this will be a quirky family drama, before veering into surprisingly dark thriller territory.

The Henry of the title is an 11-year-old boy, living with his mother (Naomi Watts) and brother. He realises the girl living next door, Christina, may be in danger from her stepfather, and so starts writing a book about how he’s going to rescue her. Eventually his mother gets involved, but they know it will be difficult to do anything, as Christina’s stepdad is the police commissioner.

Jacob Tremblay, Sarah Silverman and Lee Pace also star. Take a look at the trailer below. The Book of Henry will be in cinemas this summer. [Read more…]

Sarah Silverman & Lee Pace Join Colin Trevorrow’s The Book Of Henry

September 27, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

sarah-silvermanColin Trevorrow is a busy man. He’s just coming off the mega-success of Jurassic World, and he’s attached to direct Star Wars Episode IX. However before then he hopes to make the much smaller, The Book Of Henry, which has just added Sarah Silverman, Lee Pace, and Dean Norris to its cast, according to TheWrap.

They join Naomi Watts and child actors Jaeden Lieberher and Jacob Tremblay. Unfortunately though the new casting doesn’t come with any more info about the plot. All we know is that Gregg Hurwitz wrote the script, which has been described as “remarkable” and “a true original.”

Between Jurassic World and Star Wars, Trevorrow also hopes to make Stealing Time, which has added Pixels Timothy Dowling as a screenwriter. The film, which has been likened to a 1980s Amblin movie, is about a man who invents a time machine but gets lost in the past. His son and grandson have to fix the device in order to rescue him.

Jon Hamm, Kevin Hart & Sarah Silverman In Talks For The Incredible Mr. Limpet

July 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jon-hammNow that Richard Linklater’s 12-year odyssey to make Boyhood is out of the way, he’s moving full steam ahead with the long-gestating remake of the 1964 animated comedy The Incredible Mr. Limpet.

Zach Galifianakis is already attached to star, but he now likely to get some impressive company, as TheWrap reports that Jon Hamm, Kevin Hart, Danny McBride, Sarah Silverman, Josh Gad, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele are all in talks for the movie.

The part live-action, part animated 1964 original starred Don Knotts as a man who wishes he was a fish (doesn’t everyone?), which then becomes true. The first version is set during World War II, where Limpet goes off to fight the Nazis, although this new version will be told in a contemporary setting.

Zach Galifianakis will play the lead role of Henry, with Jon Hamm as the main villain. Danny McBride and Sarah Silverman are likely to get live action roles, while Kevin Hart, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele are expected to voice sea creatures.

Many thought Ted sounded like a premise that was never going to work, but the R-rated talking teddy movie became a major hit. It’s the same with Seth MacFarlane’s follow-up, as A Million Ways To Die In The West, which doesn’t sound like a big grosser on paper, but could surprise us on its summer 2014.

Now a set of character posters have arrived, featuring MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman and Liam Neeson.

The movie is about a cowardly sheep farmer (MacFarlane) backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend (Seyfried) leaves him for another man (Patrick Harris). When a mysterious and beautiful woman (Theron) rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw (Neeson), arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.

Sarah Silverman Joins Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West

March 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

sarah-silvermanSeth MacFarlane is busy putting together the cast of his comedy western with A Million Ways to Die in the West, with MacFarlane set to star alongside Amanda Seyfried, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, and Giovanni Ribisi. Now THR reports that Sarah Silverman is in negotiations to play a prostitute in the movie.

The film is about a timid farmer (Seth MacFarlane) whose girlfriend (Amanda Seyfried) leaves him for another man after he runs away from a gunfight. In the hope of winning her back, he enlists the help of the wife of a notorious outlaw’s wife (Charlize Theron), to teach him to become a better gunman. However, his skills are severely tested when the woman’s angry husband (Liam Neeson) comes riding into town.

Sarah Silverman will be involved in a subplot as the town’s prostitute, who ironically won’t have sex with her fiancée (Giovanni Ribisi), because she wants to wait until they are married.

Seth MacFarlane is set to direct from a screenplay he wrote alongside Ted co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. Shooting will start later this spring.

Take This Waltz (Cinema)

August 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Luke Kirby, Sarah Silverman
Director: Sarah Polley
Running Time: 116 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: August 17th 2012

I still can’t quite believe the little girl from 1980s Canadian TV import Ramona is now all grown up and an accomplished actor, director and writer. Take This Waltz is Sarah Polley’s third movie as a director, following All I Want For Christmas and the excellent Away From Her. In some respects it’s a rather standard story – someone is tempted to cheat on their spouse when something seemingly more exciting than the dullness of everyday marriage comes along – but what make it slightly unusual is that in this one it’s the woman who’s thinking of playing away.

Michelle Williams – who’s fast become one of the most fascinating and accomplished actresses of her generation, and also oddly interested with starring in movie about the breakdown of relationships – plays Margot, who meets the dashing and rather good-looking Daniel (Luke Kirby) while on a research trip to a living-history colonial fort. New Wreck-It-Ralph Photos Show Off Videogame Cameos

June 6, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Wreck-It-Ralph is a risky but potentially brilliant idea from Walt Disney Animation, with John C. Reilly voicing the title character, an old-fashioned 8-bit videogame villain who wants to be the good guy.

The plot gives plenty of scope for cameos from various videogame characters (Roger Rabbit style), and a new batch of images show us Ralph with Q*Bert and his former enemies Coily, Slick, and Ugg, while Street Fighter characters Chun-Li and Zangief can be seen in the background. It also shows the different animation styles the film will use, mimicking the different eras of videogames.

If you’re wondering why there’s a picture of a lot of plugs, it’s because this acts as a king of Grand Central Station for the videogame characters, allowing then to move from one to another. Take a look at the pics above and below, and a synopsis of the film is at the bottom of the post. (Images via USA Today)

Here’s the synopsis: Here’s the synopsis: ‘Wreck-It Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his video game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?’

Take This Waltz Trailer – Michelle Williams & Seth Rogen star

April 5, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Michelle Williams is fast becoming the queen of indie cinema, and it appears Seth Rogen want to increase his indie credentials as he’s starring opposite Williams, Sarah Silverman and Luke Kirby is Sarah Polley’s Take This Waltz. Williams plays 28-year-old Margot, who’s happily married to Lou (Seth Rogen), a good-natured cookbook author. However, when Margot meets Daniel (Luke Kirby), a handsome artist who lives across the street, their mutual attraction is undeniable. No UK release is currently set.
