Ted 2 – Extended Edition (Blu-ray Review)

November 22, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Barth, Giovanni Ribisi
Director: Seth MacFarlane
Running Time: 121 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: November 23rd 2015 (UK)

Even the makers of 2012’s Ted are unlikely to have expected it to gross $550 million around the world. It ensured Universal was keen to make a sequel, although it has to be said this follow-up wasn’t half as successful, taking $212 million around the world. Not a bad number but nothing like the first.

This time around Mila Kunis is nowhere to be seen, as she and Mark Wahlberg’s John Bennett have gotten a divorce, leaving him completely lacking on confidence around women. Ted meanwhile seems to be having better luck, as he’s marrying the bold and brassy Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth).

Things come unstuck though when the talking teddy and his wife decide to adopt a child, as it suddenly make the government consider his status, and they decide that legally they don’t consider him a person, so not only won’t he be getting a baby, his marriage is invalid, he can’t keep his job and he’s now classed as property. Ted 2 Trailer – The bear is back (and Mark Wahlberg too)

January 29, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ted-2-poster1Everyone, even Universal Studios, was surprised when Ted grossed $550 million, an extraordinary amount for an ‘R’ Rated comedy, especially when only weeks before its release some where already getting out the knives for Seth MacFarlane and expecting a flop.

Now the talking teddy is back with Ted 2 and the trailer is here, which you can watch below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Seth MacFarlane returns as writer, director and voice star of Ted 2, Universal and Media Rights Capital’s follow-up to the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy of all time. Ted 2 Adds Morgan Freeman To The Mix

September 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

morgan-freemanmorgan-freemanIf you need to add an extra bit of class to your movie, casting Morgan Freeman is always a good idea. Seth MacFarlane obviously agrees as Variety reports the Family Guy creator has cast the actor in a pivotal role in Ted 2.

There’s no news on the exact plot, but Freeman is being brought in to play an iconic civil rights lawyer who helps talking soft toy Ted with his legal problems.

Mark Wahlberg is also set to return John Bennett, with Amanda Seyfried playing the new female lead. Mila Kunis will also be in the movie, but she’ll apparently have a much smaller role than she did in the first film.

Production is already underway in Boston, with MacFarlane directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. It’s due out summer 2015.

New A Million Ways To Die In The West Red Band Trailer – Liam Neeson has shadow sex with Seth MacFarlane

May 7, 2014 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

When Seth MacFarlane called his new movie A Million Ways To Die In The West, this trailer suggests he wasn’t joking. Indeed on this evidence it’s difficult to see how anyone survived more than a few minutes back then.

It’s also just a juvenile and silly as you’d expect from the creator of Family Guy (and we don’t mean juvenile in a pejorative sense).

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Seth MacFarlane directs, produces, co-writes and plays the role of the cowardly sheep farmer Albert in A Million Ways to Die in the West. After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.

‘Starring alongside MacFarlane are Oscar® winner Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris. MacFarlane reunites many of the filmmakers behind Universal and MRC’s hit film Ted including Scott Stuber (Bluegrass Films) and Jason Clark who produce, and Wellesley Wild and Alec Sulkin who co-wrote the script.’

The films due out on May 30th. [Read more…]

Seth MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson & Some Sheep Get A New A Million Ways To Die In The West Poster

February 28, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

million-ways-to-die-in-the-west-poster9
In the last 20 years, westerns have always been a hit and miss for Hollywood and they’ve had particular problems with comedy westerns. However Universal will be hoping that Seth MacFarlane can overcome that with A Million Ways To Die In The West. After all, many thought an R-rated comedy about a talking teddy sounded like a disaster until Ted became a massive hit.

Now a new poster has arrived, showing us MacFarlane alongside Liam Neeson and Charlize Theron.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Seth MacFarlane directs, produces, co-writes and plays the role of the cowardly sheep farmer Albert in A Million Ways to Die in the West. After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. Amanda Seyfried Joins Ted 2 As The New Female Lead

February 24, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

amanda-seyfriedSeth MacFarlane has been busy making his second directorial outing, A Million Ways To Die In The West, but he hasn’t forgotten about the sequel to his first, as Deadline reports that Amanda Seyfried has joined Ted 2 as the new female lead.

If you’re wondering what’s happened to Mila Kunis, who played the girlfriend of Mark Wahlberg’s John Bennett in the first film, she is likely to film a small part for the new film, however it is likely to be so minor that it could end up being cut from the film. Kunis being given a smaller role is apparently purely for creative reasons and not due to a rift between Seth MacFarlane and the actress (after all, she still voices Meg on his show, Family Guy).

Seth MacFarlane is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ted collaborators Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. A release date of June 26th, 2015, with filming expecting to start this summer. Seyfried will also be seen in MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West, which is out this May.

A Million Ways To Die In The West Red Band Trailer – Take your first look at Seth MacFarlane’s western comedy

January 31, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Yesterday we posted an octet of character posters for Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways To Die In The West, and now comes the red band trailer, which suggests this will be just as anarchic and rude as you’d expect from the creator of Family Guy. However it might be a lot more violent that you might have thought.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Seth MacFarlane directs, produces, co-writes and plays the role of the cowardly sheep farmer Albert in A Million Ways to Die in the West. After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man.
