New War For The Planet Of The Apes Trailer – Caesar and the apes are taking over

May 16, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes surprised many when it turned out to be a pretty good origin story. Then the franchise really upped the game with the excellent Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. That means the next instalment, War Of The Planet Of The Apes, has a lot to live up to. And from the evidence of this new trailer, it might be a rather dark tale, but also one with plenty of action and intrgue.

Judy Greer Heads For Jurassic World

April 6, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Judy-GreerAfter years in development, numerous delays and many people thinking it would never happen, production is finally set to begin later this month on the fourth Jurassic Park film, Jurassic World.

Director Colin Trevorrow is still busy finishing off the casting though, as THR reports that the always worthwhile Judy Greer has signed up for the movie.

As Trevorrow is keeping plot and character details to himself, it isn’t known exactly show Greer will play, but she joins Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Jake Johnson and original Jurassic Park star B.D. Wong.

It’s believed this film will be set in a Jurassic Park that is up and running as a successful tourist attraction, just as John Hammond first envisioned. However I think it’s safe to say that the plot won’t involve everyone going for a visit and having a lovely time without any rampaging dinosaurs whatsoever.

Colin Trevorrow is directing from a script he co-wrote with Derek Connolly. It’s due in cinemas June 12th, 2015 release date.

Judy Greer Joins George Clooney In Tomorrowland

August 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Judy-GreerBrad Bird’s upcoming movie for Disney, Tomorrowland, starts shooting next week, but they’re still finalising the cast, with Deadline reporting that Judy Greer has signed up to star alongside George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, and Raffey Cassidy in the movie.

The movie is about a young woman who approaches a cranky inventor named Frank (George Clooney) to unravel the mystery behind Tomorrowland, a world that exists in a parallel dimension to ours. Hugh Laurie has been cast as the villain, with Raffey Cassidy playing a child robot who joins Casey and Frank on their journey. Unfortunately there absolutely no news on how Greer will fit into the movie.

Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus) came up with the script, which is said to be similar in tone to Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and a December 12th, 2014 release has already been set.

Judy Greer Joins Dawn of the Planet of the Apes As Caesar’s Love Interest

March 29, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Judy-GreerIt seems Judy Greer is soon going to be donning a motion-capture suit and channelling her best ape, as Vulture reports that the Jeff Who Lives at Home and The Descendants actress has joined the cast of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. She’s signed on to play a female ape called Cornelia, who’s a potential love interest for Andy Serkis’ super-intelligent chimp, Caesar.

The actress comments, “For so long I haven’t been able to say anything about it, so this is exciting! It’s a very different kind of work than I’m used to. I’m not going to be wearing Manolo Blahniks in this one.”

It seems she’s going to get major points from her husband for taking the role, as Greer says, “I married a man who … I’m gonna use the word obsessed. He is obsessed with Planet of the Apes. We had a chimp husband-and-wife cake topper at our wedding. At the cocktail hour, we played Planet of the Apes and Rise of the Planet of the Apes on two separate televisions in the bar area. And on the wedding gift I bought him, a vintage Rolex, I had it engraved, ‘Ape shall not kill ape.’ I was then told that, technically, it’s ‘Ape shall never kill ape,’ but there wasn’t enough space for engraving purposes.”

Greer joins a human cast that includes Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell. The film is set 15 years after Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, when smart simians are beginning to take over, but a resistance group of humans in San Francisco try to fight back. Caesar meanwhile is having difficulty keeping control of the growing ranks of apes.

Matt Reeves is directing from a screenplay by Mark Bomback.
