The Choice Trailer – Benjamin Walker, Teresa Palmer & Tom Welling take on Nicholas Sparks

October 3, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

choice-trailer-slideThe well-spring of Nicholas Sparks movies hasn’t run dry (despite what some people may have hoped), as 2016 will bring us The Choice, which has just released its first trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘THE CHOICE tells the story of Travis Shaw and Gabby Holland, who meet first as neighbors in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen. Spanning a decade and tracing the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life’s most defining events, this story features a memorable ensemble of friends and family in Sparks’ beloved North Carolina setting, culminating in the question that every couple must ask themselves: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?’

Benjamin Walker, Teresa Palmer, Tom Welling, Tom Wilkinson, Alexandra Daddario, and Maggie Grace star, with an early 2016 release planned. [Read more…]

Teresa Palmer Joins Luke Bracey & Edgar Ramirez In The Point Break Remake

June 16, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

teresa-palmerAfter a hiccup where Gerard Butler left and was swiftly replaced by Edgar Ramirez, the remake of Point Break is back on track with Variety reporting that Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, I Am Number Four) is in talks to join the cast as the female lead.

Luke Bracey is already onboard as FBI agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves in the earlier version), who is assigned to infiltrate a criminal gang who are part of the extreme sports world. Ramirez (previous Patrick Swayze) is head of the gang, Bodhi, while Ray Winstone is set to be Utah’s veteran FBI partner.

Teresa Palmer meanwhile is in negotiations to be Johnny Utah’s love interest, taking over the role that was originally portrayed by Lori Petty in the original version.

Ericson Core (Invincible) is directing from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Total Recall). The film is due out August 7th, 2015.

Benjamin Walker in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Benjamin Walker in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

With Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter it seemed like Benjamin Walker might be poised to break out as a big star, but it hasn’t quite worked out that way. However he’s now got a new role, taking the lead in the thriller 2:22 opposite Theresa Palmer, according to Variety.

Walker is set to play ‘a man whose life is derailed when an ominous pattern of events repeats itself in exactly the same manner every day, ending at precisely 2:22 p.m. He falls for a beautiful woman whose life is threatened by these strange events, forcing him to solve the mystery of 2:22.’

The film will be sold at Cannes and presuming that goes well, it’s set to start shooting in Australia in October.

Walker has another big movie coming up, as he takes a major role in Ron Howard’s Heart Of The Sea, about the events which inspired Moby Dick.

First Look At Liam Hemsworth In Cut Bank

July 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

cut-bank-pic1 thumb
Despite The Hunger Games, Liam Hemsworth hasn’t quite got the fame of his brother Chris. He’s working on it though, with the Hunger Games sequels coming, as well as the thriller Paranoia, which is due in cinemas soon. Now we get our first look at another one of his movies, Cut Bank, where we can see him standing in a field (and unlike most of the other images of him that get released, in this one he’s wearing a shirt!).

Although it may not look like it, the film is actually a sci-fi flick. It follows Dwayne McLaren (Hemsworth ) a high school star athlete recently turned auto mechanic, who dreams of getting out of tiny town on Cut Bank, the coldest town in America, and whisking his pageant-hopeful girlfriend, Cassandra (Teresa Palmer), away to the big city.

However, his plan to leave sets in motion a deadly series of events and thrusts him into a police investigation headed by Sheriff Vogel (John Malkovich), the protector of Cut Bank and the closest thing Dwayne has to a father figure. Panic sweeps across the community in mere hours, but things are not what they seem. Cassandra’s father, Big Stan Steeley (Billy Bob Thornton), is the only one who seems to realise this. However, the damage is already done and the events that unfold change Dwayne’s life, and the life of the town, forever.

The film’s due out next year.

Director: Jonathan Levine
Running Time: 98 mins

Release Date: June 17th 2013

The zombie apocalypse has left the humans fighting against a horde of shambling corpses. R (Nicholas Hoult) is one of those zombies, except he’s beginning to wonder if there’s more to life than stumbling about groaning. When he ‘meets’ Julie (Teresa Palmer), a beautiful human survivor, R falls in love. He sets about trying to charm her, as best a rotting corpse can, and soon finds he’s undergoing more than just a change of heart.

The first zombie films had a message to deliver, the same is true here. But on top of this, Warm Bodies is refreshing, original, and one of the wittiest films you’ll find. [Read more…]

Teresa Palmer & Melissa Leo To Star In Mark Webber’s The Ever After

June 7, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

TERESA-PALMERMark Webber is an interesting guy. He’s an actor who’s popped up in the likes of Boiler Room and Scott Pilgrim, and his first movie as a director, Explicit Ills, won the Audience Award at SXSW in 2008. However he had a tough upbringing, as he lived homeless with his mum when he was a kid.

Now he’s returning to the director’s chair for The Ever After, which Variety reports has Teresa Palmer and Melissa Leo set to star. Phoebe Tonkin, Jaime King, Rosario Dawson and Kid Cudi are also in negotiations to play supporting roles.

Webber and Palmer co-write the script, ‘is about a brutal love story that explores the depths of marriage’.

Interestingly some of the film is already in the can, as the first part was secretly filmed in Australia in February, with the shoot culminating in Los Angeles and New York through July and August.
