The Sound And The Fury Trailer – James Franco & friends take on William Faulkner

November 3, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

the-sound-and-the-fury-slideJames Franco seems to love two things, everything gay and William Faulkner. He’s back into the world of the latter with The Sound And The Fury, his second film directing a movie based on one of Faulkner’s books after As I Lay Dying.

He’s also joined by plenty of his friends, as the likes of Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Scott Haze, Tim Blake Nelson, Loretta Devine, Joey King, and Ahna O’Reilly also star.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Directed by and starring Academy Award nominee James Franco, The Sound and The Fury captures the lives and passions of the Compsons, a once proud Southern family caught in a tragic spiral of loss and misfortune. Based on the novel by Nobel Prize winner author William Faulkner and considered among the 20th century’s greatest works, The Sound and The Fury encapsulates the universal theme of the death of honor, social injustice and forbidden love.’

Tim Blake Nelson In Talks For Fantastic Four

May 1, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tim-blake-nelsonTim Blake Nelson is joining the club of people who’ve played more than one character in superhero movies. After being Samuel Sterns (aka The Leader) in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, now THR reports that he’s in final talks to star as Harvey Elder in the The Fantastic Four reboot.

He joins Miles Teller as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara as his girlfriend Sue Storm (aka Invisible Woman), Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm (aka The Thing), and Michael B. Jordan as Sue’s brother Johnny (aka The Human Torch). Toby Kebbell is set to be Dr. Doom.

In the comics Harvey Elder becomes the villainous Mole Man, but that won’t happen in this movie. Instead the reboot will set up the transformation ready for planned sequels, where he will play a more prominent role. Elder starts out as an eccentric and socially awkward scientist who is later shunned by humanity and becomes the leader of a subterranean group of monsters known as Moloids.

Josh Trank is set to direct with filming due to kick off fairly soon, ready for a summer 2015 release.

Tim Blake Nelson Joins James Franco’s Bukowski & Tommy Lee Jones’ Homesman

January 29, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Tim-Blake-NelsonTim Blake Nelson is probably still best known for O Brother Where Art Thou?, but he’s always good value for money, giving great performances in everything from Minority Report and Incredible Hulk to Syriana and most recently Lincoln.

Now he’s booked two new roles, according to THR, signing up for James Franco’s biopic of Charles Bukowski as well as reuniting with Lincoln co-star Tommy Lee Jones for the actor’s directing venture, The Homesman.

The Franco written and directed Bukowski will look at the writer’s early life as a child and teen, and how that helped shaped him as an author. Nelson will play Charles’ father, Henry, a man who dealt with the stresses of his life by hitting his son, eventually driving Charles to defend himself.

Tommy Lee Jones’ The Homesman meanwhile is a 19th Century tale about an untrustworthy man and a spinster school teacher who team up to transport three woman who are through to be crazy across the Western plains. Nelson will be a man who covets one of the women and tries to steal her. Hilary Swank and Meryl Streep also star. The hope is to shoot the movie this spring.
