With the shoot starting early next year, Legendary Pictures is busy filling out the cast of Warcraft, and they’ve now announced that they have closed deals with Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Robert Kazinsky, Travis Fimmel and Paula Patton to star.
Other actors such as Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Anson Mount and Anton Yelchin have previously been mentioned for unspecified roles, although their involvement isn’t known at this time. It’s particularly notable that Farrell isn’t mentioned as he’s been previously said to have been close to signing, so this suggests he may have moved on.
Duncan Jones is directing from a screenplay that he rewrote, which was originally drafted by Charles Leavitt. The movie is based on the popular multi-player online roleplaying game World Of Warcraft, which is set in a world where players take part in an epic war between the Horde and the Alliance.
Filming begins in Vancouver next month, with a March 2016 release set.
