Snatched Trailer – Amy Schumer & Goldie Hawn find getting kidnapped a bonding experience

February 9, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Goldie Hawn hasn’t been seen on screen since 2002’s The Banger Sisters, but now she’s getting back in the game and starring alongside Amy Schumer in Snatched. Wanda Sykes, Ike Barinholtz, Christopher Meloni, and Randall Park are also along for the ride.

The Lego Ninjago Movie Trailer – The Lego film franchise is expanding even further this year

February 9, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Lego Movie turned out to be a much better movie and a much bigger hit than anyone expected. That got Warner Bros. excited and they didn’t just put a sequel in the works, they also developed The Lego Batman Movie, which hits cinemas this week, and also The Lego Ninjago Movie.

The trailer for the latter has now arrived, suggesting this will keep the rather tongue in cheek tone of the franchise so far, while introducing new audiences to a part of the Lego world that’s previously only been the preserve of youngsters.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd (Dave Franco), aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders.  Led by kung fu master Wu as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon (Justin Theroux), the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.’

The film will be in cinemas in October. [Read more…]

February 9, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Based on a Dave Eggers novel, The Circle is a film that’s vaguely science-fiction, but actually far closer to reality than we might like to admit. After all, Google and Facebook already know more about us than even our closest friends.

The likes of John Boyega, Karen Gillan, Patton Oswalt, Bill Paxton and Glenne Headly also star. Take a look at the trailer below. The film will be in US cinemas in April, but no UK date is currently set. [Read more…]

Aftermath Trailer – Arnold Schwarzenegger really, really wants an apology

February 9, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Post governator Arnold Schwazenegger has been a rather different actor to the man we knew beforehand. While he’s made another Terminator, largely he’s looked for movies that offer more complex characters than we’re used to from him, and he’s been surprisingly good in the likes of Maggie and Sabotage. It looks like he could be back at it with the fact-based revenge drama, Aftermath.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The remarkable true story of the events that unfolded when a Russian passenger plane collidedwith a cargo plane over Germany in 2002. 71 people die. Roman Melnyk, whose wife and two children were killed in the accident, struggles to cope with the tragedy and desperately searches for answers, and cannot rest until he finds the person responsible for his loss.

‘Jake, the air traffic controller on that fateful day, also finds his life in pieces. Forced to take on a new identity, his marriage crumbles, he loses his job, and he becomes a ghost of his former self. The story builds to its tragic conclusion 478 days later when the two strangers finally meet.’

The movie is in cinemas on April 7th. [Read more…]

Want To Get A Virtual Selfie With A Film Star? The EE BAFTAs May Be Your Chance

February 7, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Each year, EE, which sponsors the BAFTA Film Awards, tries to find something innovative do on the red carpet. This year things are getting more interactive than they have before, giving movie fans the chance to get a virtual selfie with a movie star. This will be made possible thanks to innovative, custom-built camera technology featured in the EE Roboselfie: a high-tech, selfie-taking robot.

By submitting a headshot on Twitter using the hashtag #EEBAFTAselfie, film fans will have the chance to be featured in one of the superfast selfies that the EE Roboselfie will be creating at record speed whenever an A-lister stops by for a picture. It uses facial detection, built-in time codes and custom software to synchronise the camera to its display, simultaneously capturing fan images next to real-life celebrities to capture five different fan selfies per second.

The EE Roboselfie then pairs the new images – complete with their A-list cameo – to the Twitter handle of the person who submitted the original photograph and even includes a personalised message – all live on the night.

As you can see in the pic above, Whitmore has been testing the technology out, which the help of the host of this year’s ceremony, who will be taking the reins for a 12th time.

Whitmore comments: “I can’t wait to be a part of this year’s EE BAFTA red carpet and introduce the brilliant EE Roboselfie to this year’s nominees. Make sure you tune in to the red carpet action on EE and BAFTA’s social media from 4:30pm to see how I’m getting on.”

To be in with a chance of appearing on the EE Roboselfie, participants can tweet a front-on colour headshot (no sunglasses) using the hashtag #EEBAFTAselfie.

First Official Look At John Boyega In Pacific Rim: Uprising

February 7, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

As Pacific Rim wasn’t quite a big a hit as the studio had hoped, you’d have thought that if they were gonna make a sequel, they would do it quickly. However, they’ve taken their time, with the movie almost being a reboot, with most of the main characters getting replaced and a story that is reported to jump forward in time.

This time around, we won’t be following Charlie Hunnam’s Raleigh Becket, with the central role instead going to John Boyega. Now, thanks to a tweet that gives us our first official look at the actor in character, it’s been confirmed he will be called Pentecost – Stacker Pentecost to be precised, the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first movie.

Not a vast amount more is known about the plot, although it known Boyega will be a Jaeger pilot, and presumably will be using his giant robot to take on more giant monsters spilling out of the ocean. Steven S. DeKnight directs the movie, with Guillermo Del Toro just producing this time. [Read more…]

Baywatch Super Bowl Spot – Zac Efron’s star-spangled speedos steal the show

February 6, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

For people who aren’t that interested in American Football, probably the most memorable moment from the Super Bowl wasn’t on the field, it was in the ad break, when a spot for the big screen version of Baywatch featured Zac Efron in some very small stars and stripes speedos. I’m not sure whether that would be classed as patriotic or not?

Here’s the brief synopsis: ‘BAYWATCH follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan (Dwayne Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit ( Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.’ Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario, Jon Bass, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera also star.

You can take a look at the Super Bowl spot below. The movie will be in cinemas in May. [Read more…]
