New Masterminds Trailer – Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson & Jason Sudeikis go on a heist

July 31, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

masterminds-slideThings recently got a bit messy for Masterminds. The film should have come out last year, but when its production company/studio Relativity went into bankruptcy it got delayed. Then, when Relativity came out of bankruptcy, Netflix decided that due to their deal with the studio, they were going to start streaming the movie before it went to cinemas. That led to a court case where it looked like things were gonna get messy. However, that’s now been sorted out and a new trailer has arrived.

Here’s the synopsis for the inspired by a true story movie: ‘Zach Galifianakis (THE HANGOVER) leads a sterling comedy cast along with Kristen Wiig (BRIDESMAIDS), Owen Wilson (ZOOLANDER) and Jason Sudeikis (HORRIBLE BOSSES) in this hilarious true story in which a half-brained night guard at an armoured car company manages to pull off one of the biggest bank heists in US history.’

The movie is out in the US on September 20th. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

The Great Wall Teaser Trailer – Matt Damon heads into medieval Chinese action

July 28, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

great-wall-slideWith China now the second biggest market for movies in the world and Chinese companies investing heavily in film, Hollywood is on the lookout for ways to tap in the Middle Kingdom’s money. There’s also Legendary Pictures – makers of Godzilla and The Dark Knight Movies – which was bought by Chinese investors. That’s helped result in The Great Wall, which star Matt Damon but takes us into Chinese history and one of its most iconic structures.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Starring global superstar Matt Damon and directed by one of the most breathtaking visual stylists of our time, Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers), Legendary’s The Great Wall tells the story of an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure. The first English-language production for Yimou is the largest film ever shot entirely in China. The Great Wall also stars Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau.’

While he all know The Great Wall as looking pretty in pictures, it’s rather cool to see it being used for its original intention, as a massive defensive structure. However, we’re hoping it doesn’t give Donald Trump any more ideas.

The film will be out early next year. Take a look at the teaser trailer below. [Read more…]

New The Accountant Trailer – Ben Affleck & Anna Kendrick do some number crunching

July 28, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The-Accountant-slideBen Affleck has certainly made impressive turn-around. A few years ago his career seemed in danger of becoming a punchline, but since then he’s become an Oscar-winning director, turned in some really good performances and even convinced many who’d given him no chance that he could be a good Batman.

Now he’s returning with The Accountant.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Christian Wolff (Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of- the- art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.’

The Accountant will be in UK cinemas on November 4th, 2016. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Hacksaw Ridge Trailer – Andrew Garfield stars in Mel Gibson’s return as a director

July 28, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

hacksaw-ridgeMany thought that after his last set of outbursts a few years ago, Mel Gibson had blown it so badly that he’d never be allowed on a film set again. However, he’s has a few small movie roles, and is now returning to the director’s chair with Hacksaw Ridge, 10 years after his last outing behind the camera, Apocalypto.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.’

The movie will be out towards the end of the year. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Nick Jonas May Join Dwayne Johnson In Jumanji Reboot

July 28, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

nick-jonas-shirtlessThe planned reboot of Jumanji is fast coming together, with Dwayne Johnson set to star and Kevin Hart and Jack Black recently said to be in talks to join him. Now someone else may be joining them, with THR reporting that Nick Jonas is in negotiations for the movie.

It’s not known exactly how this reboot will handle the story, but it will still be based around the basic concept of a board game where what happens in the game also happens in real life, which causes havoc when the jungle starts to erupt into reality. How Jonas fits into that hasn’t been revealed, although we wouldn’t be shocked if he’s playing Johnson’s son.

Jor many, Nick is still best known as one of the Jonas Brothers, but more recently he’s being proving himself as an actor. He stars in the show Kingdom and has been getting great notices in the upcoming fraternity hazing drama Goat. However Jumanji would be one of his highest profile roles so far.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life Teaser – Take your first look at the return of Lorelei & Rory

July 27, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

gilmore-girls-a-year-in-the-lifeFor a while now Netflix has been bigging up the fact they’re bringing back Gilmore Girls for four new extended episodes. However, we haven’t known exactly when it would debut, and we haven’t seen any footage either.

That’s now changed, as Netflix has announced that all four episodes will be available on the streaming service worldwide from November 25th. It’ll be officially called Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, with the individual 90-minute instalments titled Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  If you need to catch up with the original seven seasons of the show, they will be available on Netflix in the run up to the new stories.

They’ve also released the first footage from the revival, which starts off being slightly nostalgic for fans by reintroducing us to the various places around the fictional town of Stars Hollow. Then it does what it absolutely needed to do, by launching into trademark quickfire, cultural-reference-laden chat between mother and daughter Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel). Take a look below. [Read more…]

Split Trailer – James McAvoy stars in M. Night Shyamalan’s latest

July 27, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

split-mcavoyM. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit may not have been a great movie, but it was made on a low budget and made a decent profit. As a result Shyamalan has teamed up with producer Jason Blum again for his latest thriller, Split.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being.

‘Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy, The Witch), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him—as well as everyone around him—as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.’

Jessica Chastain To Star Alongside Jake Gyllenhaal In Video Game Movie The Division

July 27, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jessica-chastainBack it early June it was revealed that despite the failure of Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time, Jake Gyllenhaal was jumping back into the video game-to-movie business with a film ased on Tom Clancy’s The Division. Now he’s got some company as THR reports that Jessica Chastain will co-star.

The game is a third-person shooter that’s set in a dystopian New York City following a smallpox pandemic. Gyllenhaal will play an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division, commonly referred to as ‘The Division’, who investigates the nature of the outbreak and combats the criminal activity that springs up in its wake. It hasn’t been revealed exactly who Chastain will play.

Ubisoft must think they’ve got a good chance with a movie version, as the game is their fastest selling title of all time, reportedly shifting $330 million worth of copies in just five days. It is part of the company’s attempts to turn the reputation of videogame-to-movie titles around, with high-profile films such as Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender and Splinter Cell starring Tom Hardy also in the works.

Office Christmas Party Trailer – Jennifer Aniston & Jason Bateman lead a star-studded festive film

July 26, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

office-christmas-partyOffice Christmas Party is a bit of a lazy title for a movie, but at least it should do exactly what it says on the tin.
