Batman & Superman Get Gay For One Another In A Funny New Parody Trailer

May 17, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

At the moment DC’s big 2016 superhero mash-up is going by the title Batman Vs. Superman, but in this funny new video from French YouTube comedy channel It’s Big!, it’s more like Batman ♥ Superman.

Yep Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne aren’t just hiding their superhero alter-egos, they’re hiding the fact they’re big old gays, and after they meet it’s going to be difficult for them to hold their feelings for one another inside!

And it’s not just those two either, as Robin’s a great big ‘mo too!

Let’s hope Zack Snyder is taking notes. And if Joss Whedon wants Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye and Captain America to get a bit drunk and explore their sexuality in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, we wouldn’t complain about that either. [Read more…]

Andrew Garfield Explores Gender Identity In Full Arcade Fire Video

May 17, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A couple of weeks ago a short clip from the Arcade Video popped up online, which gained a lot of interest as it featured Spider-man himself – Andrew Garfield – exploring gender identity by donning female clothing and wandering around Coachella.

Now the full video for the Canadian indie rockers tune, We Exist, has arrived, which you can watch above. While it’s previously been said that the actual song is about a gay kid talking to his dad, the video ‘follows the story of a young person’s struggle with gender identity.’

Although they are two separate issues, they both share the difficulty of trying to work out who you are and how other will react to you – in this case and young person venturing out as a woman when the world knows them as a man.

It’s a great looking video whatever it’s about, so take a look above. [Read more…]

Interstellar Trailer – Matthew McConaughey is heading into space for Christopher Nolan

May 17, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

So far the promotion of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar has been pretty low key, as while the loose plot details we’ve had have suggested a big space adventure, the marketing has been pretty earthbound.

That’s true of the beginning of this trailer – but things aren’t going very well for the planet. So it’s time to send Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway into space!

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan (“Inception,” “The Dark Knight” Trilogy), the production will travel the globe and utilize a mixture of 35mm anamorphic and IMAX film photography to bring to the screen a script based on the combination of an original idea by Nolan and an existing script by Jonathan Nolan, originally developed for Paramount Pictures and producer Lynda Obst. The new script chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.

‘“Interstellar” features a prestigious cast that includes Matthew McCaughey (“Magic Mike,” “Mud”), Academy Award® winner Anne Hathaway (“Les Miserables,” “The Dark Knight Rises”), Academy Award® nominee Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “The Tree of Life”), Bill Irwin (“Rachel Getting Married,” TV’s “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”), Academy Award® nominee John Lithgow (“Terms of Endearment,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), Academy Award® nominee Casey Affleck (“The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” “Gone Baby Gone”), David Gyasi (“Cloud Atlas”), Wes Bentley (“The Hunger Games”), Mackenzie Foy (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 and 2”), Timothée Chalamet (TV’s “Homeland”), Topher Grace (“Spider-Man 3”), David Oyelowo (“Jack Reacher,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), Academy Award® winner Ellen Burstyn (“The Last Picture Show,” “The Exorcist”), and Academy Award® winner Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules,” “The Dark Knight” Trilogy).’

The film’s due out in November. [Read more…]

New Guardians Of The Galaxy Poster, Plus A Tease Of The Upcoming Trailer

May 17, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

guardians-of-the-galaxy-poster2Marvel is going Guardians Of The Galaxy crazy with a new poster and a tease of the big new trailer that’s due to be released on Monday. And you can see it all right here.

The poster is certainly pretty cool, and the trailer tease suggests we might be getting a pretty good look at the movie on Monday.

Also released are some new characters descriptions:

PETER QUILL (Chris Pratt):
Peter Quill is an interstellar adventurer who was abducted from Earth at a young age. After recovering an ancient artifact, Quill must rally an unlikely team of cosmic misfits to prevent a powerful villain from destroying the galaxy.

GAMORA (Zoe Saldana):
Gamora is an orphan from an alien world who was raised by the mysterious Thanos to become the perfect weapon. As Thanos’ personal assassin, Gamora has earned a reputation as a formidable warrior. Gamora now seeks redemption for her past crimes.

DRAX (Dave Bautista):
A physical brute, Drax has a personal vendetta against Ronan, who killed his family. Now fueled by pure rage, Drax will stop at nothing to take his revenge on the most dangerous being in the galaxy.

GROOT (Vin Diesel):
Groot descends from a race of walking flora and resembles a sentient tree. Despite his strange appearance and limited communication skills, Groot proves to be a valuable ally and a loyal friend-not only to his fellow bounty hunter Rocket but to the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy as well.

ROCKET (Bradley Cooper):
Rocket is a bounty hunter and mercenary whose mastery of weapons and battle tactics make him a formidable warrior, despite being a genetically altered, cybernetically enhanced, talking raccoon. The result of traumatic biological experimentation, Rocket is a genuine gun-toting badass and mechanical genius who has a huge chip on his shoulder.

RONAN (Lee Pace):
A Kree radical, Ronan continues to fight an ancient war between his people and the Xandarians. Ronan has struck a bargain with the Machiavellian Thanos – retrieve a mysterious artifact, and in exchange Xandar will finally be eradicated. Ronan leads his army to hunt down Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy when they come between him and his genocidal goal.

YONDU (Michael Rooker):
Blue-skinned Yondu is an interstellar bandit who has a less-than-perfect paternal relationship with Peter Quill. As leader of the outlaws known as Ravagers, Yondu and his cohorts pillage their way through the galaxy, taking whatever they want for solely their own benefit.

NEBULA (Karen Gillan): A blue-skinned deadly assassin, Nebula is a loyal lieutenant in Ronan and Thanos’ employ. Her advanced skill set and cybernetic enhancements make her a valuable asset but her resentment of Thanos’ adoptive daughter Gamora may prove to be her Achilles heel.

KORATH (Djimon Hounsou):
Korath, a powerful ally of the villainous Ronan, is a feared intergalactic hunter. Korath is a pursuer who is dedicated to the kill and focuses only on one thing-his target.

RHOMANN DEY (John C. Reilly):
Rhomann Dey is a Corpsman in the Nova Corps, the planet Xandar’s military force. Dey is a loyal and trusted officer but his by-the-book attitude takes a detour when he develops an unlikely rapport with Peter Quill.

NOVA PRIME (Glenn Close):
Nova Prime Irani Rael is in charge of Nova Corps operations throughout the galaxy. From her base of operations on Xandar, the principled and efficient Nova Prime leads her forces with confidence. She defines her mission above all to protect the citizens of Xandar and keep peace.

THE COLLECTOR (Benicio Del Toro):
Taneleer Tivan, aka The Collector, is the obsessive keeper of the largest collection of interstellar fauna, relics and species in the galaxy. An enigmatic figure, The Collector operates out of a place in space aptly named Knowhere. When he encounters Peter Quill and his band, The Collector attempts to strike a dubious bargain. The Riot Club (previously) known as POSH, certainly has an attractive cast of young guys, but that doesn’t mean the movie will be any good. However now we have a taste with a trailer and poster.

The Flash Extended Trailer – Grant Gustin goes fast (and shirtless)

May 15, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj0l7iGKh8g

One of the most anticipated shows starting this autumn on TV is The Flash, starring Grant Gustin as the classic DC Comics character. We’ve already met his alter-ego Barry Allen in Arrow, but now we can have our first taste of the actual show with an extended five-minute trailer.

In Arrow we saw Allen have an accident that mixed lightning with science, but since then he’s been in a coma. However when he wakes up he realises that he’s the fastest man in the world, and becomes the superhero – The Flash.

You’ll also be pleased to see that while it may be more fantastical than Arrow, it hasn’t dispensed with getting the guys to take their shirts off (and after all, isn’t that the most important thing?).

Take a look at the trailer above and look out for the show this autumn. [Read more…]

First Look At Addison Timlin, Jeremy Irvine & Harrison Gilbertson In Fallen

May 15, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

fallen-pic1While in the last few years young adult adaptations have proven a more miss than hit affair, the fact they often don’t cost a huge amount to make but have potentially massive rewards means Hollywood is still very keen on them.

One that’s coming sometime in 2015 is Fallen, which features a very attractive cast including Addison Timlin, Jeremy Irvine & Harrison Gilbertson – and now we get our first look at them with the pic above. It certainly doesn’t seem to be shying away from potential Twilight comparisons.

The film is based on Lauren Kate’s young adult supernatural fantasy novel about an alienated teen girl, Luce Price (Timlin), who is drawn to the mysterious and aloof Daniel Grigori (Irvine) from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch their every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce, she can’t let go and has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret. As secrets unfurl, it becomes clear Daniel may not be what he appears, and there could be a reason he seems so familiar. Harrison Gilbertson plays Cameron ‘Cam’ Briel, a bad boy who also has a dark secret.

Scott Hicks (The Lucky One) is directing from a screenplay co-written by author Lauren Kate, Nichole Millard and Kathryn Price. It isn’t clear when it will shoot.

And just in case you were wondering if Jeremy Irvine really was looking that hot, I’ve included a close-up below. [Read more…]

Glee’s Chris Colfer To Play Gay Writer Noel Coward, With Ian McKellen Starring Too

May 14, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

chris-colferIt’s going to be a gay old time on the set of Noel this summer, with Chris Colfer and Ian McKellen teaming up for a biopic of the legendary Noel Coward. Vanessa Redgrave and Jonathan Pryce will also star, according to Screen Daily.

The film will follow Coward’s early life and inspirations, which led him to become the famously flamboyant raconteur and writer behind plays like Blithe Spirit, Private Lives and Hayfever, scripts such as Brief Encounter and songs like Mad Dogs And Englishmen. He was also an actor, perhaps most famously playing Mr. Bridger in The Italian Job.

Coward was gay, although as with most people of his era (he lived from 1899 to 1973) this was never mentioned while he was alive, although it was obvious and even Noel himself once observed ‘There are still a few old ladies in Worthing who don’t know.’ He also encouraged his secretary to write a frank biography which was to be published after he died.

This will be set before all that, although are no exact details on what period of his life the movie will cover. Colfer takes the role of Coward (let’s hope he’s been practicing his posh English actor, as Noel had a very distinctive voice), but it’s now known who McKellen, Redgrave and Pryce will be.

Martin Sherman wrote the script, who has a good pedigree with gay-themed project, having written Bent. Joe Stephenson (Chicken) will direct.
