Monster Trucks Trailer – Lucas Till gets a weird creature under his bonnet

November 17, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

monster-trucks-poster-slideMonster Trucks has been hanging around for a while, and the studio behind it has so little faith they’ve already written of a multi-million dollar loss on it. However, they’ve nevertheless given it a prime December 26th release date, in the hope of enticing kids while they’re out of school.

But while it may not be the hit they were originally hoping for, it does look bizarre enough that it might not be too bad.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend.

‘Melding cutting edge visual effects and state-of-the-art CGI, Monster Trucks is an action filled adventure for the whole family that will keep you on the edge of your seat and ultimately touch your heart.’ [Read more…]

Monster Trucks Trailer – Or at least a monster in a truck, with Lucas Till

June 1, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

monster-trucks-slideI think it’s likely the title for this movie came before any idea about the plot, which may explain why the trailer suggests this is gonna be a bit of an odd movie. Not necessarily a bad one, but an odd one.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. Ice Age’s Chris Wedge directs the movie, which will be in cinemas February 2017. Take a look at the first trailer below. [Read more…]

Nicholas Braun & Jane Levy Are Good Kids

August 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Nicholas Braun

Nicholas Braun

Nicholas Braun (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) is one of those actors who feels like he’s waiting for the right role to break out (it sometimes seems his hulking 6ft 4in frame is limiting the role the 25-year-old gets). However now Deadline reports that he and Jane Levy have signed on to star in Good Kids for writer/director Chris McCoy.

The film is about four overachieving high school kids from Cape Cod who decide to reinvent themselves after graduation, when the summer tourism season begins. There’s no info on exactly who Nicholas Braun and Jane Levy will play, and the other two primary roles have not been cast yet.

Chris McCoy is making his directorial debut, working from his own screenplay, which landed on The Black List in 2011. Most recently McCoy has been working on the Guardians of the Galaxy screenplay.

First Evil Dead Remake Photo Arrives

October 15, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

After several years in development, a remake of The Evil Dead finally went into production a few months ago with Fede Alvarez directing and Sam Raimi producing. Now the first image from the movie has arrived via EW, who’s taken over the role originated by Bruce Campbell. She’s certainly not looking very healthy in this shot though.

Those worried this will be toned down Evil Dead apparently don’t need to worry, as it’s expected the first cut submitted to the MPAA will get the NC-17 rating only really extremely violent movies get (although it will get cuts to take it back to the edge of the more commercially friendly R-rating). It’ll be in cinemas next spring.
