New Ghostbusters Trailer – The spooks are back, with only Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig & co. to fight them

May 18, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ghostbusters-2016-slideEver since it was announced that Sony was reviving the Ghostbusters franchise with a new, all-female team, there have been some grumblers out there saying it shouldn’t have been done. That wasn’t helped by the first trailer, with many saying it made the whole thing look like a complete travesty. Now though, another trailer has arrived, which certainly shows more promise, suggesting something new while having a few callbacks to the original.

This time around the people fighting the ghosts are Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. It’s been confirmed be set in a parallel universe where the events of the earlier movies never happened, although the likes Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts, will be in the film, playing different characters.

Other new faces include Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams and Chris Hemsworth (who’ll be the women’s hunky secretary. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) directs, with a July release set. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Sausage Party Red Band Trailer – Seth Rogen becomes animated food in an R-rated comedy

March 15, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

sausage-party-slideYesterday at SXSW Seth Rogen presented a work-in-progress screening on his R-rated, CG animated movie Sausage Party. It got pretty good buzz, even if it wasn’t finished, with many suggesting it’s a smart and funny movie, which takes a sideways look at belief and religion.

Now the first trailer has dropped, which you can watch below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG animated movie, is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store. The film features the vocal talents of a who’s who of today’s comedy stars – Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton, and Salma Hayek.’

It’ll be cinemas in August. [Read more…]

Ghostbusters Trailer – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig & co. are out to beat the spooks

March 4, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ghostbusters-2016-slideEver since it was announced that Sony was reviving the Ghostbusters franchise with a new, all-female team, there have been some grumblers out there saying it shouldn’t have been done. However, now the first proper trailer is here, which gives us our first proper look at the movie. While slightly different in tone to the original, it does look like it’ll be a lot of fun.

This time around the people fighting the ghosts are Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Previous reports have suggested that the film would be set in a parallel universe where the events of the earlier movies never happened, but the trailer suggests that’s not true, although it doesn’t full explain why the actors from the original movies, such as Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts, will be in the film but apparently playing different characters (it’s also notable that they were left out of the trailer).

Other new faces include Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams and Chris Hemsworth (who’ll be the women’s hunky secretary. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) directs, with a July release set. Take a look at the trailer below.

Get Your First Look At Chris Hemsworth In The Ghostbusters Reboot

February 3, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ghostbusters-2016-pic1-slideWith this summer’s new take on Ghostbusters, they’re not just swapping the gender of the spook fighters, but also of their secretary. Annie Potts who played Janine Melnitz in 1984’s Ghostbusters and its 1989 sequel has morphed into the form of Chris Hemsworth’s Kevin. Now we can get out first look at him in the movie thanks to a new pic.

Annie Potts will still be around though, but like Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Pitts and even Bill Murray she’ll be playing a different character than in the original. It appears the movie takes place in a parallel universe to the original movies, where the busters never existed and no one knows ghosts exists.

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will be the women who team up to take on the supernatural – and each of them also gets a new pic too, which you can take a look at below. A trailer is expected very soon (it looks like it might it might arrived to tie in with the Superbowl).

New Zoolander 2 Trailer – Ben Stiller must save the world from a celebrity killer

February 3, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

zoolander-2-teaser-slideIn a week and a half we’ll finally get to see the long awaited Zoolander 2, which has been in the works for years but is only just now making it to cinemas. Will it have been worth the wait? A new trailer is here which hopes to convince us it is.

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson back in male model mode, with the duo beginning to realise that they aren’t as young as they once were – something that is pretty much fatal in their profession – and also that the world of fashion has changed from the one they once knew. That includes Benedict Cumberbatch as a model who goes beyond androgynous.

There is a problem though, someone is out killing celebrities including Demi Lovato, Usher, Justin Bieber, Lenny Kravitz, and Miley Cyrus, all of whom have died with one of Derek Zoolander’s signature looks on their face.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and expect the movie in cinemas on February 12th, 2016.

Get A Fresh Look At The Ladies Of The Ghostbusters Reboot

December 16, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ghostbusters-reboot-pic2

2016’s planned Ghostbusters movie is bit of a hybrid, as it’s both reboot and remake but not quite either. It’s a new plot and the team looking for spooks are now ladies, but it’s aparently a different timeline so the events of the first film never took place. That may come as a bit of a surprise to some, as it’s well known the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Pitts and even Bill Murray will be in the movie, but all apparently playing different characters.

It would suggest though that this is actually a reboot, which will explain why these people are different to the ones we knew from the original movies, and also why no one is aware ghosts exist (which is apparently why director Paul Feig didn’t want to do a simple continuation of the earlier films).

We’ve had one look at the new female crew of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, and now a new one has arrived via Planet Ghostbusters, which you can see above.

Chris Hemsworth is also onboard as the girls’ secretary, with Andy Garcia as the mayor of New York City. Expect to see more very soon, including a first trailer, which will hope to get us excited for the July 2016 release.

Nasty Baby Trailer – Kristen Wiig stars in the Outfest & Teddy Award winning movie

September 22, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

nasty-babyNasty Baby has certainly been getting some love at LGBT film festivals and awards ceremony, picking up the Teddy Award for the best LGBT-themed film at the Berlin Film Festival, as well as Best Feature at Outfest.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Nasty Baby, centers around a Brooklyn couple, Freddy (Sebastian Silva) and his boyfriend Mo (Tunde Adebimpe) who are trying to have a baby with the help of their best friend, Polly (Kristen Wiig). Freddy is an artist, and his latest work is all about babies – it’s clear he’s dying to be a father. Polly is a family practitioner who is more interested in having a baby than having a man. Mo is hesitant about the entire idea, especially when Polly isn’t having success with Freddy?s sperm and the donor responsibility shifts to him.

‘Set almost entirely in the multicultural vibrancy of Fort Greene, Brooklyn, the trio navigates the idea of creating life, when they are confronted by unexpected harassment from particularly aggressive neighborhood man, nicknamed The Bishop (Reg E. Cathey). The Bishop is bothersome in small, yet persistent ways, with a hint of danger. As their clashes become increasingly aggressive, someone is bound to get hurt.’

Nasty Baby will recieve a limited theatrical release in the US on October 23rd, before reaching VOD and iTunes on October 30th. It’s not clear when it will arrive in the UK. [Read more…]

Melissa McCarthy & Kirsten Wiig Strap On The Proton Packs In The First Official Ghostbusters Reboot Pic

July 11, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ghostbusters-reboot-pic1Are you only allowed the bust ghosts in single gender groups? In the 1980s it was all men and now the series is getting rebooted with a female team of Ghostbusters – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

The odd thing is that while it’s a different team and they’re all women, in this first official pic the whole thing looks very familiar, with similar costumes, the iconic Ghostbusters car, the logo and proton packs.

Director Paul Feig tweeted the first pic of the ladies in costume.

Although not many plot details have been released it’s believed McCarthy and Wiig play women who wrote a book all about how ghosts are real. However that later gets Wiig laughed out of her university job, leading her to reluctantly team with McCarthy, McKinnon and Jones to take on spooks that invade Manhattan.

It’s due out next year.
