Back in August 2015 we got the
Colin Trevorrow had a monster hit with Jurassic World, but rather than staying in the world of dinosaurs or immediately making another mega-budget movie, he decided to helm The Book Of Henry. Not the trailer has arrived, which starts off suggesting this will be a quirky family drama, before veering into surprisingly dark thriller territory.
Hamlet is undoubtedly one of the greatest plays ever written, but as many have noticed, the female characters are somewhat problematic from a modern perspective. That’s now getting addressed on film with a movie adaptation of Lisa Klein’s young adult novel, Ophelia.
In the last couple of year Jake Gyllenhaal has been flexing his acting muscles in the likes of Nightcrawler and Southpaw and getting plenty of critical plaudits for doing so. It looks like he’s hoping to continue that run with Demolition, which has now released its first trailer.
There are quite a few high-profile LGBT-themed films starring well-known actors coming out before the end of the year, including Freeheld (starring Ellen Page and Julianne Moore) and Stonewall (with Jeremy Irvine). There’s also About Ray, starring Elle Fanning, Naomi Watts and Susan Sarandon, which we haven’t heard as much about, until now with the arrival of a trailer.

Noah Baumbach (Frances Ha, Squid And The Whale) is back with While We’re Young, which reteamed him with his Greenberg star Ben Stiller, alongside Naomi Watts, Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried, for a look at a 40-something couple trying to keep hold of their youth.
Divergent didn’t get a great reaction from critics, but audiences disagreed, as it grossed almost $300 worldwide and proved that Lionsgate was right to put three sequels into development before the first movie opened.
The moment 3D became popular there was talk in Hollywood of making a new Ring movie, with the feeling that having the creepy Samara crawling out of the screen would be very popular with audiences. However while there’s been rumours of remakes and sequels, it’s been trapped in development hell.
