The film is from writer/directors Jim Rash (best known as Dean Pelton in Community) and Nat Faxon, who won an Oscar earlier last year for writing the script for The Descendants. The coming of age flick follows a teenager trying to deal with a dysfunctional mother (Toni Collette) and her boorish boyfriend (Steve Carell). He finds a summer job at a local water park and strikes up an unlikely friendship with its manager, played by Sam Rockwell. Amanda Peet, Maya Rudolph, Allison Janney, and Rob Corddry also star.
