The LEGO Movie Blooper Reel – Things get cute when it doesn’t go quite right

February 14, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

After a massive opening in the US last week, The LEGO Movie opens in the UK today. It’s also time for a blooper reel, which has now shown up online. Following in the footsteps of Pixar’s animated screw-ups, it has a lot of fun with the block characters.

Here’s the movie’s synopsis: ‘The LEGO Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Emmet (Chris Pratt) is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie join Chris Pratt to form the cast of the first-ever full length theatrical LEGO movie, the greatest movie ever assembled,’ [Read more…]

Will Ferrell & John C. Reilly Reuniting For Devil’s Night

October 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Will-FerrellIn the mid-2000s, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly became an unexpected but very popular comedy partnership. However we haven’t had a movie from them for a while, but now TheWrap reports that are reuniting once again for Devil’s Night.

The movie is about Leonard and Gabe, two best friends who bonded over the annual Devil’s Night, which on October 30th in the 1970s and 1980s, was an unofficial holiday where young men and women would commit acts of vandalism and arson. Leonard and Gabe’s hijinks eventually lead to their friendship’s abrupt ending. 15 years later, they must reunite to help save their town from massive destruction and chaos.

Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul wrote the screenplay, with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay producing through their Gary Sanchez Productions company. It doesn’t appear a director is attached as yet.

Tropic Thunder Writer Etan Cohen To Direct Will Ferrell & Kevin Hart InGet Hard

September 18, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Etan-CohenEtan Cohen, who’s probably best known for co-writing Tropic Thunder, has signed up to direct Warner Bros’ comedy Get Hard, according to Variety. Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart have been attached to star in since December.

The film is about an affluent investment banker (Ferrell) who is sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit (nobody in films goes to prison for crimes they did commit – except for maybe the bad guy at the end). Before he is locked up, he ‘trains’ for prison life with the man who washes his car (Kevin Hart).

Warner Bros. wants to start shooting as soon as possible, as they want to get it in the can before the actors commit to any other movies. Etan Cohen’s feature directorial debut was supposed to Daddy’s Home, which also has Will Ferrell attached to star, but now Get Hard is likely to come first.

After being in development for years, Anchorman 2 is now in the can and heading for a Christmas release. The likes of Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate are all reprising their Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy roles, with Adam McKay directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ferrell.

The film takes place in the early 1980s, during the advent of the 24-hour news cycle. Needless to say, the Action 4 News team has trouble adapting to this news format. It also sees Ron heading off on a trip to New York.

Cameos from the likes of Harrison Ford, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Vince Vaughn and loads more are also promised to show up.

Now a couple of new pics have been released from the movie via The Playlist, showing off Ron’s very retro big furry collar. Take a look above and below.

Tobey Maguire & Kristen Wiig Join Will Ferrell’s The Spoils Of Babylon

June 4, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tobey-maguireIt’s not often a TV series can boast a cast including Tim Robbins, Kristen Wiig, Michael Sheen, Tobey Maguire, Haley Joel Osment, Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer, Steve Tom and Will Ferrell, but The Spoils Of Babylon can. The series comes from Ferrell, Adam McKay, and several other Funny or Die guys, with the show set to air on IFC in the US.

The six-parter will follow a fake book written by fake author Eric Jonrosh (Ferrell). The story will span multiple generations in the oil industry, which allows it to follows plenty of stories, allowing all sorts of famous faces to pop up.

IFC says, ‘The Spoils of Babylon, a century-spanning saga, chronicles the sexy and dramatic lives of the Morehouse family, led by Jonas Morehouse (Robbins), his daughter Cynthia (Wiig) and her adopted brother Devon (Maguire) who made their fortune in the oil business. The series takes viewers from the oil fields of Texas to boardrooms in New York City, through war torn battlefields and velvet-sheeted bedrooms.

‘Cynthia and Devon’s unbridled and taboo passion for one another cannot be prevented. Add in Cynthia’s evil son Winston (Osment), her put upon husband Chet Halner (Sheen), and Devon’s new love interest Dixie Mellonworth (Alba), and the booze, the pills, more passion, more pills and the heartache, and you have a mercurial potboiler. Then add in illegal arms deals, international espionage, the Shah of Iran (Ferrell), and two US Army Generals (Kilmer, Steve Tom) and it begins to overflow with boiling liquid in a pot on a hot stove that is operational.’

Production has already commenced with a 2014 premiere planned.
