Win An Eating Out Banquet Box Set – All five films in one box!

June 20, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There aren’t that many gay themed film series that have been so popular they’ve made it to five installments, and even fewer where all those movies have been a lot of fun. Now TLA Releasing is bringing out the five-film Eating Out Banquet Box Set, which includes all the movies so far in Q. Allan Brocka’s fun series. It hits UK shop shelves on June 25th and we’ve got two copies of the box set to give away in this comp.

The set starts off with the romantic confusions of 2004’s Eating Out, where Caleb ends up pretending to be gay and dating Marc, in order to try and get into Marc’ female roommates’ pants! Things then continue through four more very gay adventures, with the last three concentrating on the romantic entanglements of Zack and Casey, as well as the complication that arises when Benji (the incredibly hot Aaron Milo) shows up.

It’s all silly, sexy and very entertaining fun, with an almost ridiculous amount of hot guys in various states of undress. With loads of jokes, a great sense of farce and a liberal sprinkling of gay sex and shenanigans, what’s not to like?

If you’d like to try and win one of the two copies of Eating Out Banquet DVD Box Set that we’ve got to give away, answer the question below and fill in your details, then press submit! The competition closes on July 3rd, so get answering and good luck!

HOW TO ENTER: Fill in the entry form below and click send. All fields need to be completed correctly for an entry to be valid. This includes your address, which will only be used if you win a prize. Matt Bomer Talks Magic Mike Extreme Manscaping

June 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

As a gay man, we’re sure Matt Bomer knows a little about primping (and looking at him, it’s tough to believe that incredible face and physique doesn’t take a strict beauty and gym regimen), but it appears for his role as a male stripper in Magic Mike, things went to the extreme.

He’s been talking to People, and telling them that if you’re going to wander round in a g-string and be true to the male stripper experience, body hair has got to be pretty much banished – including from the nether regions – and the same was true for Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello and the film’s other stars! “We all had to go there,” Bomer says. “I’m not going to say it was fun, and personally I will never do it again, but for that project it was necessary. We were all in the boat together.”

“What was important to me was to tell the story authentically,” he adds, “and I wanted to reflect what the dancers in real life do. And that’s part of their job.”

They also knew that playing a male stripper was a bit of a risk. Bomer says of this, “It was us against the world. But in a lot of ways, that was the mentality of a lot of exotic dancers I talked to. It’s a profession that’s not widely accepted by the general populace, so even though they raz each other and it is a sort of locker room environment, they help each other out and look out for each other, and I feel like that’s something we picked up on.”

BGPS has already seen the movie and we’ll be bringing you our review soon (as soon as the embargo is lifted), so we can let you know it it lives up to the fun and saucy promise of the recent NSFW Magic Mike promo. The film hits UK cinemas on July 11th.

Magic Mike NSFW Red Band Promo – Steven Soderbergh’s male stripper flick gets saucy

June 14, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While Hollywood loves taking the clothes off women, it tends to be a lot more coy about men, so you may have been wondering just how saucy Steven Soderbergh’s male stripper flick, Magic Mike, would be. We’ve got a good hint now thanks to this extended TV spot, which promises much g-strings, erotic dances, bum flashes and even silhouetted massive dongs! It’s definitely NSFW, but if you fancy a bit of cheeky naughtiness aimed at straight women and gay men, take a look. Partly based on Tatum’s experiences as a young male stripper, the film sees him mentoring a newbie (Pettyfer) and apparently having romantic problems. The film hits UK cinemas July 13th.

Win The Woman In Black Starring Daniel Radcliffe!

June 13, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Woman In Black became the highest grossing British horror movie ever at UK cinemas earlier this year, taking over well over £20 million! Now it’s set to hit DVD & Blu-ray in the UK on June 18th, courtesy of Momentum Pictures, and we’ve got three copies of the movie to give away on Blu-ray.

Produced by Talisman Films in association with Hammer Films (and perhaps oddly, it’s the iconic British film company’s first ghost story, despite its long-standing fame for horror), The Woman In Black is based on Susan Hill’s acclaimed and very creepy 1983 novel. The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

If you’d like to try and win one of the three copies of The Woman In Black on Blu-ray that we’ve got to give away, answer the question below and fill in your details, then press submit! The competition closes on June 26th, so get answering and good luck!

HOW TO ENTER: Fill in the entry form below and click send. All fields need to be completed correctly for an entry to be valid. This includes your address, which will only be used if you win a prize. Rock Of Ages (Cinema)

June 10, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Julianne Hough, Diego Bonita, Tom Cruise, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin
Director: Adam Shankman
Running Time: 123 mins
Certificate: 12A
Release Date: June 13th, 2012

I have a horrible feeling a lot of critics are going to rip into Rock Of Ages, but I for one loved it. While it has its problems, it made me smile about 30 seconds in and I was beaming when I came out. It’s silly, cheesy and sometimes verges on the ridiculous, but it’s also a hell of a lot of fun, with a plethora of hair metal hits being shoe-horned in, Glee-style (or Mamma Mia! style, if you prefer).

The plot (which to be honest there isn’t a huge amount of) follows Sherrie, who arrives in LA from Oklahoma full of dreams of making it big in the City of Angels. She’s barely off the bus when she bumps into Drew (Diego Boneta), who gets her a job at the famed club, The Bourbon Room. Soon Sherrie and Drew are falling in love, but as the big time beckons for Drew, the course of true love won’t run smooth. [Read more…]
