Tough Love: Season 3, Episode 1, Part 2 – Steven still isn’t sure what to do with his hot gay date

March 29, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

In just a week, Part 1 of the first episode of Season 3 of Tough Love has had over 10k views on Vimeo, which means there’s plenty of people out there waiting to find out what happens next. When we left them, Blaire was in the midst of discovering the ex-girlfriend she wants back has found someone new.

Meanwhile, Steven’s insecurities surfaced when he discovered his blind date was a drop dead gorgeous model – and even worse, the hunk actually seemed to like him! In Part 2, Steven has to deal with what happens next, and as you can see from the gif above, that may involve getting into bed and confronting the fact he’s not quite as toned as the other guy (and to be honest, it’s not something he deals with particularly well).

It seems creator Steven Bell was also rather smitten with his co-star, commenting, “The actor who plays Marco (Constantin Tripes) is like a real life God. He’s 6’4” and not an ounce of fat on his body. In comparison, I’m barely 5’11” and I’m not sure if I actually have abs. I’ve never seen them so how can I be sure? In this week’s episode Marco takes Steven back to his apartment for “dessert” and things get steamy. I had to straddle Constantin in bed and it made me sweat a little, I think that my real life nervousness really made the scene work. Luckily Constantin was such a pro and had a great sense of humor during the entire shoot.”

Apropos Of Nothing: Sexy Nyle DiMarco Stars In Alex Newell’s Latest Video, Basically Over You

March 29, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

basically-over-you-alex-newellWe had to post this music video as its combines two of our favourite things – the musical stylings of former Glee star Alex Newell, and the ridiculous sexiness of America’s Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco. The only thing that’s confusing us is that the song is called ‘Basically Over You’, but how could anyone ever be over DiMarco? I’ve never met him and I’m not sure I’ll get over him.

It’s a great showcase for both the trans* singer and the sexually fluid model, and if they want to get together more often, we’re all for it.

DiMarco is on the cusp of becoming much better known in the US, as he’s following up his ANTM win with a stint on Dancing With The Stars. There’s been a bit of extra interest in his appearance on the show, which is helping people to learn how a deaf person learns to dance.

Take a look at the video for Basically Over You below. [Read more…]

Gay Short Film Showcase: American Obsession: Sailor Moon – Rediscovering the LGBT side of the classic anime

March 29, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

sailor-moonVice Media has released a great little documentary called American Obsession: Sailor Moon, which focuses on the LGBT-side of the beloved Japanese anime series.

Despite only being 11 minutes long, it covers a lot of ground, such as how when it was first dubbed for American audiences in the 1990s, two of the female characters, who were lovers in the original Japanese version, were turned into lovers who were just friends. However, even then many English-speaking viewers realised that there was something amiss.

The doc also looks at LGBT people and others who found inspiration in Sailor Moon, including a man who grew up friendless and affected by homophobic abuse from friends and family, who found solace in Sailor Moons, as well as learning about overcoming adversity and how people should treat one another. It’s well worth watching, so take a look below.

New Warcraft: The Beginning Trailer – Travis Fimmel & Ben Foster take us into a fantasy world

March 29, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

warcraft the beginning slide2They’ve sure taken a long time to bring us Warcraft: The Beginning. The film shot almost two years ago, but as this trailer shows, the reason for that is that it needed an awful lot of post-production and special effects work to create a convincing fantasy world, which wouldn’t seeming lacking in comparison the Peter Jackson’s take on Middle Earth.

Here’s the snyopsis: ‘The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another.  As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction.  From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home.

‘So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.

‘Directed by Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) and written by Charles Leavitt and Jones, the film starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu is a Legendary Pictures, Blizzard Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment production.’

The movie will be in cinemas on May 30th. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Directed by James Bobin, who brings his own unique vision to the spectacular world Tim Burton created on screen in 2010 with “Alice in Wonderland,” the film is written by Linda Woolverton based on characters created by Lewis Carroll and produced by Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd and Tim Burton with John G. Scotti serving as executive producer.

‘“Alice Through the Looking Glass” reunites the all-star cast from the worldwide blockbuster phenomenon, including: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter along with the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall. Julia Roberts Wants To Fool Me Once In A Harlan Coben Adaptation

March 29, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

julia-robertsJulia Roberts hasn’t had many big hits in the past few years, partly due to the fact she cut down on her hectic acting schedule so she’s have more time to spend with her family. However, she certainly hasn’t retired, and now Variety reports she’s planning to produce and star in the film, Fool Me Once.

The movie will be based on the just published Harlan Coben novel, which ‘follows a former special ops pilot Maya (Roberts) who sees an unthinkable image captured by her nanny cam while she is at work: her 2-year-old daughter playing with Maya’s husband, Joe — who had been brutally murdered two weeks earlier.’

Yep, you’d certainly be freaked out if you saw your dead husband playing with your kid, and we’re presuming there isn’t a supernatural explanation, and instead her hubby has faked his death. There’s no news on when the film might hit cinemas.

Like Cattle Towards Glow Trailer – Get a glimpse of the strange, explicit and ‘unknowable’ gay film

March 28, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

like-cattle-towards-glow-slideIt’s certainly difficult what to make of the gay-themed film Like Cattle Towards Glow from this trailer, but it’s certainly intriguing and rather enticing. It looks like the film that might be able to give your brain cells a workout while also being fairly erotic.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Dennis Cooper and Zac Farley’s Like Cattle Towards Glow is a 93 minute film consisting of five independent, thematically and emotionally interconnected scenes. The film is a complex, intimate, strangely serene, wide-ranging, and always challenging exploration of sexual desire as a hiding place. In these unique, stylistically and temperamentally diverse scenes, each one featuring its own set of characters and storyline, sex makes a promise of something so intense and untenable to the characters that they feel they must enter it in secret — through an act of violence, or under the guise of an unrelated transaction, or by rationalizing its dangers away with the help of politics, or through utilizing it remotely as material for a purely aesthetic project. Like these characters, and like sex itself, Like Cattle Towards Glow is as deep, knowing, and unknowable as it is raucous, original, and explicit on the surface.’

TLA Releasing will release the movie later this year. Before that get a glimpse below. [Read more…]
