Doug Liman Circling Action-Thriller Narco Sub

October 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

doug-limanBourne Identity and Mr & Mrs Smith director Doug Liman is in early discussions to direct the action-thriller Narco Sub, according to The Wrap. He’s certainly not the first director to show interest in it though.

Tony Scott had been attached to direct back in 2011, but sadly his involvement ended when he died. Last February Joe Carnahan flirted with the project. Now he’s gone and Liman is coming aboard. The title refers to small submarines that South American cartels use to smuggle their illegal drugs into the US. It’s previously been reported that it will be in the same vein as Tony Scott’s thrillers Crimson Tide and Man on Fire.

David Guggenheim (Safe House) wrote the screenplay. Liman is currently in post-production on the sci-fi thriller Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise. It’ll be out next June.

Peter Dinklage Will Pretend He’s A Leprechaun In A New Comedy

October 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

peter-dinklageDue to his being awesome in Game Of Thrones, Peter Dinklage’s movie career is starting to take off. He’s playing Bolivar Trask in next year’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past and now he’s signed up for the lead role in a currently untitled comedy at Paramount, according to THR.

Not too much is known about the movie, but it has been revealed that Dinklage will play someone who claims to be a leprechaun. The tone will apparently be similar to Terry Zwigoff’s dark comedy Bad Santa, and it will have an R-rating. No other cast members have been announced.

Andrew Dodge, who wrote Jason Bateman’s upcoming comedy Bad Words, wrote the script.

Six Months For Six Weeks – Part 2 – Take a look at the next instalment of the gay-themed musical web series

October 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A few weeks ago we posted the first episode in the new queer-themed web series Six Months For Six Weeks, which mixes a gay love story with original music. Now Part 2 is here and it’s well worth a watch!

An adaptation of Coons’ one-man show of the same name, “Six Months” is the product of a successful Kickstarter campaign, which wrapped earlier this year. “Six Months for Six Weeks” is the brainchild of singer-songwriter John Coons. A semi-autobiographical one-man show built around original songs, it is an honest, funny, and heart-breaking new piece of queer theater. “Six Months” tells the story of two twenty-something men in Portland, Maine, their six-week “relationship with an expiration date” and its aftermath, set against 2009’s “Question 1” same-sex marriage debate. Alternatively tender and satirical, it looks at the definitions and value we place on relationships in our changing world.

John Coons premiered “Six Months” as a live one-man show in Seattle in June 2012 and has since performed it in venues on both coasts including Boston’s Cloud Club, the PortFringe 2012 festival in Portland, Maine, as a fundraiser for Washington United for Marriage, and at “Don’t Tell Mama” in NYC’s theater district. In May of 2013, Coons ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund a webseries adaptation with fellow Seattleite, Alex Berry (creator of the Jinkx Monsoon documentary series, “Drag Becomes Him”).

A native of Maine, Seattle-based songwriter John Coons is forging a genre-defying career that has included singing as a soloist with the Seattle Opera, popular recording artist Ben Folds, the Pittsburgh Symphony, and performing the national anthem for the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Coons has performed in venues from Mobile, Alabama to Skagway, Alaska, and has shared the stage with Amanda Palmer, Foreigner, and the award-winning cabaret duo, The Jane Austen Argument. For more information, visit www.johncoonsmusic.com.

Alex Berry is a freelance video maker who lives in Seattle. He has worked with many local companies and artists to create videos that emanate a unique style and feeling. Some of his most well known work has been the “Drag Becomes Him” series starring Jinkx Monsoon, as well as his continual work with Rudy’s Barbershop. He’s planning on making his first feature film. T.R. Knight Marries His Boyfriend In An Intimate Ceremony (Attended By Katherine Heigl)

October 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tr-knight-patrick-husbandFormer Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight got married to his partner, Patrick, last Friday in an intimate ceremony in upstate New York. The couple have been together for the last three years.

Katherine Heigl was in attendance, and she’s been keen to prove it, tweeting a couple of images from the shindig, which also reveal that fellow Grey’s Alum Kate Walsh was in attendance. You can see those pics below.

Since Grey’s Knight has had a recurring role on The Good Wife and appeared in the feature film 42. Mostly though he’s been on stage. He is currently starring alongside actors Elizabeth Olsen, Daphne Rubin-Vega and William Hurt as Mercutio in the Classic Stage Company’s off-Broadway production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet in New York City.

Knight’s time on Grey’s Anatomy was marked by controversy after co-star Isaiah Washington referred to him as a ‘fag’ on the set. This gave him the impetus to come out. He left the show after five seasons, followed shortly by BFF Heigl.

New Inside Llewyn Davis Trailer – Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake & Gerrett Hedlund star in the Coen’s latest

October 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

If they’d stuck to the original plan, Inside Llewyn Davis would have already been and gone from cinemas, but it was pushed back to a Christmas US release in the hope of getting some awards recognition. Now we get a new taste of the Coen Brothers’ film with a new trailer.

Oscar Isaac stars as the title character, a folk singer making his way through the Greenwich Village music scene in the 1960s. The movie is loosely based on the life of folk singer Dave Van Ronk. Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Gerrett Hedlund, and John Goodman also star.

It certainly looks stylish, with plenty of the Coens’ trademark sharp dialogue, although it’s definitely one of their more idiosyncratic efforts. The film will be out in US on December 20th, with a January 2014 opening set for the UK. [Read more…]

October 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

willem-dafoeWe already knew that Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres were returning for Pixar’s Finding Dory, and now another Nemo star has revealed he’s coming back. Willem Dafoe has confirmed that he is once more voicing Gill in the movie.

The actor said in a recent interview, “Yeah I’ve already started. It’s even better than the first. It’s fantastic. It’s good to say I think it’s going to be better than the first; that’s good advertising! It’s difficult to repeat a success and so many years afterwards, but it’s really cool. I’ve done one session so far and I just am going to have such a good time.”

Gill is one of the fish from the dentist’s aquarium who ended up helping Nemo after he was captured.

Brooks and DeGeneres will once more be Marlin and Dory, while Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy have signed up to be Dory’s mother and father, along with Ty Burrell as Bailey. The story revolves around Dory finally reuniting with her family.

Jason Isaacs Finds Fury, Alongside Brad Pitt & Logan Lerman

October 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jason-isaacsFury has been shooting for the last few weeks and we’ve even had the first photo. However that doesn’t mean the cast is complete, as it’s only now that it’s been revealed, via THR, that Jason Isaacs has signed on to star.

The actor will play the the senior member of a five-man tank crew, who come across a desperate Nazi unit towards the end of World War II when they find themselves trapped behind enemy lines. His character is the confident captain and team veteran, who Brad Pitt’s character looks to for advice. Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña and Scott Eastwood co-star.

What’s the betting that as he’s only just signed up, Isaac’s character doesn’t make it to the end credits?

David Ayer is directing from his own screenplay.

October 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac 3 Comments

Preorder-Orthodox-Calendar-2014-slide
We’ve been featuring the making of quite a few sexy calendars in the last few days, from Dieux du Stade and Men In The Alps, to a naked Dutch gay rugby team. Now it’s the turn of Orthodox Priests – well, sort of.

No, Orthodox Christians haven’t decided to eschew their usual disdain for all things gay, as these are hot guys posing a priest, both to be a little provocative and make a statement.  As the official release says: ‘The 2014 edition of the Orthodox Calendar (#OC2014) pays tribute to gay marriage. It’s the story of young gay couples from Eastern Europe sharing a common dream of one day being able to wed their beloved at the altar of St. Basil’s or St. Sophia’s or any other Eastern rite church.

‘There are 15 countries in the world that recognize same-sex marriage. Many countries in Eastern Europe are neutral when it comes to this matter – there have been no real attempts to legalise this type of union. But it could be worse. There are 10 countries in the world where homosexuality is punishable by death!

‘Still, we would like to believe that acts of tolerance and respect for other people’s sexuality are possible. Approximately 8 to 10% of the world’s population is gay. In celebration of the fact that love, regardless of sexual orientation, exists and can be celebrated everywhere and by everyone, we bring you a fantastic selection of artistic pictures.

‘Starting today, anyone can discover among other related products our 12 seductive artistic pictures of Orthodox priests and their guests by simply ordering on-line from Amazon or directly from our store at http://www.orthodox-calendar.com/shop. The price for the classic wall calendar is only Eur 16.99 and you can buy our limited edition calendar with uncensored cover for only Eur 29.00 !’

We’re certain a lot of religious folk will be outraged, but it is kind of hot! [Read more…]
