Monster Trucks Trailer – Lucas Till gets a weird creature under his bonnet

November 17, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

monster-trucks-poster-slideMonster Trucks has been hanging around for a while, and the studio behind it has so little faith they’ve already written of a multi-million dollar loss on it. However, they’ve nevertheless given it a prime December 26th release date, in the hope of enticing kids while they’re out of school.

But while it may not be the hit they were originally hoping for, it does look bizarre enough that it might not be too bad.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend.

‘Melding cutting edge visual effects and state-of-the-art CGI, Monster Trucks is an action filled adventure for the whole family that will keep you on the edge of your seat and ultimately touch your heart.’ [Read more…]

Monster Trucks Trailer – Or at least a monster in a truck, with Lucas Till

June 1, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

monster-trucks-slideI think it’s likely the title for this movie came before any idea about the plot, which may explain why the trailer suggests this is gonna be a bit of an odd movie. Not necessarily a bad one, but an odd one.

Ice Age’s Chris Wedge directs the movie, which will be in cinemas February 2017. Take a look at the first trailer below. [Read more…]

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Jon Bernthal, Barry Pepper
Director: Ric Roman Waugh
Running Time: 100 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: October 28th 2013

It’s been a great year for Dwayne Johnson, who’s had hits with GI Joe:  Retaliation, Fast & Furious 7 and Pain & Gain, and a smaller success with Snitch. It’s not just impressive he’s had so much box office success, it’s amazing he’s managed to squeeze that many movies into such a short timespan. [Read more…]

Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Michael Sheen Join Jeremy Renner In Kill the Messenger

July 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Mary-Elizabeth-WinsteadA few weeks ago Jeremy Renner got his first co-stars in the thriller Kill The Messenger, Rosemarie Dewitt and Paz Vega. Now the cast has swelled massively with a slew of great names, as Collider reports that Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Michael Sheen, Andy Garcia, Tim Blake Nelson, Robert Patrick, Barry Pepper and Oliver Platt have all signed on for the movie.

The movie is based on the true story of Gary Webb, a San Jose Mercury News reporter who helped expose the CIA’s involvement in a drug smuggling operation with Nicaraguan rebels in the 1980s. In an effort to discredit the writer, the agency launched a smear campaign before the journalist tragically his own life.

There’s no news on exactly who the cast members will play.

Shooting has already begun, with Michael Cuesta directing from a screenplay by Peter Landesman, which is adapted from Gary Webb’s book Dark Alliance: The CIA, the Contras, and the Crack Cocaine Explosion, as well as Nick Schou’s Kill the Messenger: How the CIA’s Crack-Cocaine Controversy Destroyed Journalist Gary Webb.

Kyle Chandler Heads For Broken City

November 29, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

Broken City recently started shooting in New Orleans, but it seems they haven’t finished filling out the cast, as Variety reports that Super 8 and Firday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler has signed up to take a role in the movie.

A few weeks ago Barry Pepper joined the film as a mayoral candidate, and Chandler will play his campaign manager. The story centers on Mark Wahlberg’s character, a private investigator hired by the mayor (Russell Crowe) to find his wife’s lover. The detective comes to learn dark secrets about the mayor during the course of his investigation, which puts his life in danger.

Allen Hughes is directing with the thriller due out next year.
