Colton Haynes, Diego Boneta & Steven R. McQueen Lead New Abercombie & Fitch Campaign

February 3, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Abercombie & Fitch sure like hot young people, and recently they’ve been recruiting those heading up the ladder of fame for their campaigns. Their latest, ‘The Making Of A Star’, brings together the likes of Colton Haynes (Arrow, Teen Wolf), Christa B. Allen (Revenge), Diego Boneta (Rock of Ages), Kylie Bunbury (Twisted), Jazzlyn Marae (Nickelodeon star), Steven R. McQueen (The Vampire Diaries) and Debby Ryan (Disney Channel).

However it is slightly odd as while it’s difficult to find a pic on the internet of either Colton Haynes or Abercromibie & Fitch guys with their shirts on, here they’ve actually covered him up. I’m presuming it’s some sort of post-modern irony. Luckily Boneta and McQueen aren’t feeling as shy.

They’re all looking good though, so take a look at the videos released as part of the campaign, as well as some great images of the guys below (click on them for larger versions). [Read more…]

Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone Joins The Dead Men

Jackson Rathbone

Jackson Rathbone

While some actors have done well out of being in the Twilight franchise (Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Anna Kendrick), for many it hasn’t been quite the leap into the a-list it might have seemed like it was going to be. That’s true of Jackson Rathbone, whose role as Jasper Hale hasn’t really equated to major stardom.

The same is true of Diego Boneta, who may have thought the world would be at his feet after scoring the lead role in Rock Of Ages, but we haven’t heard much from him since. Now Rathbone and Boneta are teaming up for the thriller The Dead Men, according to THR.

The movie is about ‘an American running from his past who is brought into a group of young underground radicals called The Dead Men, only to discover a centuries-old spiritual battle.’

Sounds like it’ll be dealing with the supernatural then, but there’s no info on who Rathbone or Boneta will play. Kirk Sullivan, a longtime assistant to mega-producer Joel Silver, will be making his directorial debut with the film, with Andrew Poston on scripting duties.

Rock Of Ages (DVD)

October 7, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Diego Boneta, Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin
Director: Adam Shankman
Running Time: 118 mins
Certificate: 12
Release Date: October 8th 2012

The film adaptation of the 2009 Broadway musical is two hours of high energy 80s rock music coupled with laugh out loud comedy, as we see a young girl search for fame and fortune in the bright lights of Hollywood, set against the underside of the rock music industry.

Filled with great songs of the classic rock era – which has no doubt led it be being one of the last decade’s most popular musicals – the film makes you want to dance around and sing for the whole duration of the film. Although the music in the film is great, credit has to be given for the themes, of which several run through the film, with a sweet young love story evolving whilst the upside and downside of fame counterbalance each other in the background. Another theme that the film touches on is the clear mockery of the right wing with their wholesome image hiding a few dirty secrets. [Read more…]

Crush Of The Day: Rock Of Ages’ Diego Boneta

June 11, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

If you live in Latin America, you’ve probably known of Diego Boneta for years, but he’s pretty new to the rest of us. Born in Mexico, he’s had an incredibly successful career as a solo singer, staring when he was just a teen, even playing to 120,000 people at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2006.

He initially went into acting in Central American telenovelas, before going north of the border for guest spots on the likes of 90210 and Pretty Little Liars, as well as appearing in Mean Girls 2. He’s about to get a major career boost playing the lead male role in the musical Rock Of Ages, alongside Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones, as a young guy desperate to make it big in the world of Rock ‘n’ Roll. That seems a good excuse to take a look at some hot pictures of the cute actor, who’s had quite a career despite being only 22 years old – and he’s also keen to get his top off at the beach, which is all the better for us. New Rock Of Ages Trailer

April 3, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Rock Of Ages is one of those movies that could either be inspired genius or absolutely awful and from this trailer it’s tough to tell which. Coming across as a rather camp, tongue in cheek spoof on the 80s, filled with the music of Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and more, it’s certainly an unusual beast. Now a new full trailer has arrived, which largely seems to be about making us wait to hear whether Tom Cruise can sing (and when he does, it appears the autotune has been working overtime). The film tells the story of a small town girl called Sherrie and city boy called Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams, all mixed in with the fortunes of a club and the rock star Stacee Jaxx (Cruise). The film, from gay director Adam Shankman (Hairspray) is set for release on June 15th.

Rock Of Ages Trailer – Tom Cruise rocks out!

December 14, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

One of the more bizarre yet intriguing movies of 2012 is Rock Of Ages, based on the Broadway musical that takes a whole host of 80s hair metal tunes from the likes of Def Leppard and Foreigner, and mixes it with the story of small town girl called Sherrie and city boy called Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. If you watch the trailer, it’s more than a little bizarre, but could be a lot of fun. It’s just a shame that while there’s a big build up to seeing Tom Cruise as rocker Stacee Jaxx, we don’t get to see him rock out! It’s due in UK cinemas June 8th.

Rufus Sewell Joins Paradise Lost

November 8, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

13 years ago, actor Rufus Sewell helped Aussie director Alex Proyas make a name for himself with the wonderful Dark City, and now they’re re-teaming for the director’s new movie, an adaptation of Milton’s classic, Paradise Lost, according to Variety.

Sewell is set portray Samael, an angel who ends up on Lucifer’s (Bradley Cooper) side and urges him to start a war in heaven, after they get angry and jealous of God’s love for his new creation, humans. Benjamin Walker, Djimon Hounsou, Casey Affleck, Callan McAuliffe, Diego Boneta, Camilla Belle, and Dominic Purcell will also star.

Production should begin in January on what will be a largely motion-captured film.

Diego Boneta Signs Up For Paradise Lost

October 22, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

Diego Boneta may not be much of a name now, having only had a few guest spots in the likes of 90210, but the presumption is that with a lead role in the musical Rock Of Ages, the Mexican musician/actor will be a much better known by this time next year. It’s probably that which has helped him snag a role in Alex Proyas’ adaptation of John Milton’s classic poem, Paradise Lost.

Deadline reports that the actor will portray Adam, the first man on Earth, opposite Camilla Belle, who’s already been cast as Eve. I know Milton’s tale of the huge battle in heaven and the fall of Lucifer isn’t exactly scientific, but I’m pretty certain the first man and woman on Earth weren’t white/hispanic, which both Bell and Boneta are. But having a black Adam & Eve would probably freak out redneck, unthinking, bible belt Americansm so Belle and Boneta are probably a safer choice. It’ll also be interesting to see how the film handles the first human’s nudity – will it be fig leaves all round, or an extended version of the nude scenes in Austin Powers?

Bradley Cooper, Ben Walker, Casey Affleck, Callan McAuliffe, Dominic Purcell and Djimon Hounsou will also star as the varioius angelic factions fighting it out. The film starts shooting soon for release in 2013.
