Walk Of Shame Trailer – Elizabeth Banks gets lost after a one night stand with James Marsden

January 17, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Elizabeth Banks is always a lot of fun, and it certainly seems she’s going to give good value for money in Walk Of Shame. Now the first trailer for the movie has arrived, which stars Banks alongside the likes of James Marsden.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘After losing an audition for her dream job, an aspiring Los Angeles TV news anchor goes out for an uncharacteristic night of partying. She awakes in a stranger’s bed to a phone message from her agent telling her the job is hers, if she can make it across town by 5 pm. Stranded in an unknown area without money, a phone, and a car, she embarks on a series of misadventures as she races to the most important job interview of her life.’

Quite frankly I know a lot of people who wouldn’t care how lost they were if it meant they’d spent the night with James Marsden.

It’s out this spring. [Read more…]

November 15, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

lego-movie-poster2
The Lego Movie is coming on February 14th, and over the past couple of weeks Warner Bros. has been releasing various character posters for the movie, and to finish it off comes a full poster, showing the brick people running away from some sort of danger – it’s dangerous to be an inch tall, apparently!

Here’s the sysnopsis: ‘The LEGO Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Emmet (Chris Pratt) is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.’

The movie’s out on February 14th. You can see the main poster above and the character posters below.

New The Lego Movie Trailer – The bricks have come to life

November 1, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Many people may be wondering whether a film filled with little yellow Lego people can work. Well, on the evidence of this new trailer, it could be a lot of fun. It also shows off the various franchises that will show up, including DC superheroes, NBA basketball teams, Lord Of The Rings and Ninja Turtles.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The LEGO Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. ‘Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie join Chris Pratt to form the cast of the first-ever full length theatrical LEGO movie, the greatest movie ever assembled, which is set to hit cinemas in 14th February 2014.’ [Read more…]

Our Idiot Brother (Blu-ray)

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Paul Rudd, Emily Mortimer, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Steve Coogan
Director: Jesse Peretz
Running Time: 90 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: September 16th 2013

It’s taken a long time for Our Idiot Brother to reach the UK. It was released in the US just over two years ago, but it’s only now making it onto DVD and Blu-ray. Considering the awesome cast, it might seem surprising it’s taken so long, but after watching the slightly underwhelming film I can understand why nobody felt in too much of a rush.

Paul Rudd plays the titular idiot, Ned, who lives on an organic farm with his girlfriend, but gets busted and locked up for selling pot to a uniformed police officer. After being let out of prison, he discovers his girlfriend has taken up with another man and won’t allow him back on the farm. Ned’s not even allowed to take his beloved dog, Willie Nelson. June 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Lego Movie may not arrive in cinemas until next year, but you can understand why they want to release a trailer nice and early, as a lot of people will be wondering whether a film filled with little yellow Lego people can work. The Lego Movie Title Logo & Competition Revealed

March 22, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

lego-movie-titlesThe first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, is due to open February 7th, 2014. Now the logo for the film has been revealed, which looks suitably bricky.

A competition has also been announced, offering aspiring filmmakers the possibility of having their own 15-30 second LEGO film creations featured in the movie. The competition opens on ReBrick on March 25th, but here’s a few details about it.

The fan-produced clips will relate to an exciting scene in the film, in which the citizens of the LEGO universe rally to prevent an unspeakable disaster. They do this by quickly disassembling the elements of their environments, brick by brick, and rebuilding them into fantastic and fun hybrid vehicles and tools, the stranger and more innovative, the better, like rocket/dragons or butterfly/speedboats, to take part in an epic battle.

Using only LEGO bricks and non-licensed LEGO mini-figures, contestants will select a character and set their action sequence in one of their favourite LEGO worlds, such as Space, Pirates, Western, Vikings, Dino, Castle, and others. After building and recording their LEGO vid, they must upload the video to YouTube, and bookmark it on the rebrick.com Building Challenge page, where it will be open for voting from the entire ReBrick membership. The 25 videos earning the most ‘Likes’ will be reviewed for creativity, originality, theme and suitability for the film by a panel of judges, including Phil Lord and Chris Miller, writers/directors of The Lego Movie.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two to Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, for a VIP Tour; a meeting with the directors, to participate in a LEGO build; an exclusive LEGO film camera designed and built by the official LEGO model shop; plus souvenir items from the movie’s set, signed by the designers. His or her winning entry may also be edited into the film’s big battle sequence. Second and third place winners will also be honoured, as well as winners of bi-weekly prizes selected during the challenge’s six-week run, for a range of additional prizes, including tickets to the Studio’s tour, The Lego Movie merchandise, a $200 gift card for the Studio’s online store, and a feature spot on The Official LEGO Channel on YouTube.

All entrants must be at least 16 years old and be registered on the LEGO fansite rebrick. Submissions will be accepted from March 25, 2013, at 9:00 A.M., until May 6, 2013, at 8:59 A.M., EDT. Videos must be between 15-30 seconds and be captured using a camera that is at least 3.2 megapixels, and framed to fit within a 2.40:1 aspect ratio (as that’s what the final movie will use). If you fancy entering, make sure you read also the rule at rebrick.it/Contest.

The 3D computer animated The Lego Movie tells the story of Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire Effie Trinket & Caesar Flickman Capitol Portraits

March 5, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

catching-fire-effie-trinket-portrait
After the success of The Hunger Games, there’s a massive amount of excitement in some quarters for the follow-up, Catching Fire. Now a couple of ‘Capitol Portraits’ have surfaced, featuring Caesar Flickman (Stanley Tucci) and Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks), done in oil painting style.

The pics come via a Facebook App, that will be releasing more pics over the next day or two.

Here’s the synopsis for the film: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The film’s due out November 22nd.

People Like Us (DVD)

March 4, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, Olivia Wilde, Michael Hall D’Addario, Michelle Pfeiffer
Director: Alex Kurtzman
Running Time: 109 mins
Certificate: 12
Release Date: March 4th 2013

Alex Kurtzman is best known for writing (alongside Roberto Orci) Mission: Impossible III, the Transformers movies, Star Trek and Cowboys & Aliens. You might expect then that for his first directorial outing he’d go for something bombastic and action-packed, but instead he’s dusted off an old screenplay he wrote with Orci and Jody Lambert, which is far more character drama than action spectacular. Kristen Stewart & Elizabeth Banks Put On The Big Shoe

February 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Kristen-stewartIt’s a common stereotype that women likes shoes, so it’s surprising the world of film hasn’t made more movies about them (the movies haven’t yet got past the idea that all women spend their entire lives daydreaming about weddings).

Now Kristen Stewart and Elizabeth Banks are set to help the footwear cause by signing up to star indie comedy The Big Shoe, for director Steven Shainberg (Secretary).

The film is about a talented shoe designer (Jim Sturgess), whose unscrupulous family wants to mass produce his greatest creations so they can make a quick buck. He’s resistant and breaks away from his family, but his folks want their potential cash cow back in the fold and so hire a muse (Kristen Stewart) and a psychotherapist (Elizabeth Banks) to get him to toe the family pine.

Shainberg will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mickey Birnbaum, which is said to use the same blend of eroticism and humour as his 2002 indie Secretary. Shooting should begin June 17th.

James Marsden Taking A Walk of Shame With Elizabeth Banks

December 7, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A couple of days ago we had news that James Marsden may be returning as cyclops in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and now he’s got another movie up his sleeve, as Variety reports that he’s signed up to star alongside Elizabeth Banks in Walk Of Shame, for director Steven Brill (Mr. Deeds).

The movie is about an uptight news anchor (Elizabeth Banks) wannabe, who goes on a bit of a binge and ends up having a one night stand after an interview for her dream job goes badly. The next morning she discovers that perhaps her dreams haven’t been dashed after all and she could still get the job, as long as she can get to the station in time. However she’s on the wrong side of town, with no money, phone, or ID. No details are known about James Marsden’s character.

It isn’t known when production will begin.
