Scott Eastwood in The Perfect Wave

Scott Eastwood

Scott Eastwood started out with appearances in a couple of father Clint’s movie, such as Gran Torino and Invictus, but more recently he’s been breaking out on his own with movie such as Chasing Maverick, Texas Chainsaw 3D and the upcoming The Perfect Wave.

Now he’s scored another role in a major movie, as he’s signed on to star in Fury for End Of Watch writer/director David Ayer, according to Deadline. He joins Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Michael Pena in the World War II action drama that follows a five-man Sherman Tank crew who are stuck behind enemy lines during the tail end of the war. Scott Eastwood is set to play a member of the tank crew called Sergeant Miles.

David Ayer is directing from his own screenplay, with shooting scheduled to begin next month.

First Clip Of Shia LaBoeuf In Nymphomaniac – Getting NSFW for Lars Von Trier’s film

July 27, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Nymphomaniac is definitely intriguing, with Lars Von Trier promising it will feature real sex, although due to it having a high profile cast, some of the shagging may involve body doubles and special effects. A few weeks ago we had the first clip from the movie, which unsurprisingly wasn’t exactly hardcore. Now another comes, which give us our first look at Shia LaBeouf in the movie. The clip is safe for work, but as you can see, the new pic above isn’t.

The likes of Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater, Willem Dafoe, Uma Thurman, Connie Neilsen and Stacy Martin also star.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The film is a wild and poetic story of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe (Gainsbourg). On a cold winter’s evening the old, charming bachelor, Seligman (Skarsgard), finds Joe beaten up in an alley. He brings her home to his flat where he cares for her wounds while asking her about her life. He listens intently as Joe over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-out and multi-faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.’

No release date is currently set, but expect it later this year. [Read more…]

Shia LaBeouf May Be A Villain For Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo

May 15, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

shia-labeoufWhen Shia LaBeouf said a few months ago that he was done with Hollywood, many thought that many he’d only make little arty movies from now on, but it appears he’s just done with films like Transformers. Deadline reports he’s signed up for a movie that may not break the box office, but has decent commercial prospects.

The movie is Villain, which Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) has just signed on to direct, with the project being put together as a vehicle for LaBeouf. Shia will play one of two brothers who reunite under mysterious circumstances in a merciless wilderness.

Unfortunately there’s no more plot details than that on Josh Zetumer’s script, or any info on who will play the other brother (it’s suggested somebody will be cast soon).

The project is being sold at Cannes, although there’s no news on when they hope to shoot.

Shia LaBeouf Joins Brad Pitt in Fury

April 24, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Shia-LaBeoufWhen Shia LaBeouf announced he was ‘done’ with Hollywood, many presumed that meant we’d only see him in little, edgy movies from now on, but it seems he is interested in keeping his star alive, as yesterday we reported he’s in talks to join Robert de Niro in Spy’s Kid, and now Variety reports that he’s likely to join Brad Pitt in the World War II movie, Fury.

Based on a true story the drama is about a five-man American tank crew towards the end of World War II, who must fight an increasingly desperate Nazi army in April 1945. Shia LaBeouf will play one of the Sherman tank crew members, if a deal is finalised.

David Ayer (End Of Watch) is directing from his own original screenplay. Filming is scheduled to begin this September, with a release date of November 14, 2014 already set.

Robert De Niro and Shia LaBeouf Up For Spy’s Kid

April 23, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

shia-labeoufShia LaBeouf may have said he’s done with Hollywood movies, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely eschewing commercial filmmaking, as he’s now in talks to star in Spy’s Kid (which thankfully has nothing to do with Spy Kids) alongside Robert de Niro, according to THR. The film will reunite D.J. Caruso, after they made 2008’s Eagle Eye together.

The film is set in the world of espionage, based on a series of true-life articles that ran in the Oregonian. Robert De Niro and Shia LaBeouf will play a father and son duo, with the story revolving around a traitorous spy who enlists his offspring to continue doing his dirty work.

Both actors’ final involvement in the project hinges on the screenplay. No writer has been hired at this time, so it’s very early days.

New The Company You Keep Trailer – Shia LaBeouf is on Robert Redford’s trail

February 15, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

At festival screenings last year, there was a fair amount of praise for The Company You Keep, which marks Robert Redford’s first on-screen appearance since 2007’s Lions For Lambs.

He play a former Weather Underground militant who’s been wanted by the FBI for 30 years, but is forced out of hiding and on the lam when a young journalist (Shia LaBeouf) uncovers his true identity. The script is adapted from the novel of the same name by Neil Gordon.

It hits US cinemas in late April, with a June 8th UK release set. [Read more…]

Lawless (Blu-ray)

January 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain, Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy
Director: John Hillcoat
Running Time: 116 mins
Certificate: 18
Release Date: January 14th 2012

When it was released in cinemas last September, there were rumblings that Lawless would be in the running for the Oscars. It rather lost momentum over the last few months and ended up with no nominations at all. It’s a shame as while it’s not a masterpiece, Tom Hardy deserved a nod in one of the acting categories and the cinematography should also have been acknowledged. Indeed, I’d have included it in the Best Picture category ahead of Amour and Silver Linings Playbook. [Read more…]

First Pic Of Shia LaBeouf In Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman Arrives

December 4, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Shia LaBeouf has said he isn’t that interested in big Hollywood movies anymore, and one of his upcoming more edgy films is The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman. Now Collider has the first image from the movie, which sees LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood getting up close and personal.

Here’s the brief synopsis: ‘Traveling abroad, Charlie Countryman falls for Gabi, a Romanian beauty whose unreachable heart has its origins in Nigel, her violent, charismatic ex. As the darkness of Gabi’s past increasingly envelops him, Charlie resolves to win her heart, or die trying.’

Mads Mikkelsen, Rupert Grint, Melissa Leo and Til Schweiger also star, with Fredrik Bond making his feature directorial debut with the movie. It’ll arrive in cinemas next year.
