Second The Internship Trailer Debuts – Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn get Googled

April 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A new trailer for The Internship has arrived, giving us a look at this summer’s Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn comedy. It still feels like it’s going to be a two-hour ad for Google though.

In the movie, Billy (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Owen Wilson) are salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital world. Trying to prove they are not obsolete, they defy the odds by talking their way into a coveted internship – yes, you guessed it, at Google – along with a battalion of brilliant college students. But, gaining entrance to this utopia is only half the battle. Now they must compete with a group of the nation’s most elite, tech-savvy geniuses to prove that necessity really is the mother of re-invention.

Shawn Levy (Real Steel) directs, with a June 7th US release set, and the movie coming to the UK on July 4th.

The Internship Trailer – Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson head for Google

February 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s no surprise that with The Internship prominently featuring Google, the trailer has debuted on the company’s Youtube platform. However as with the previously released image and poster, I’m still not sure how much this is a movie and how much a Google ad.

New Internship Image Gets Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn Googling

February 12, 2013 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

internship-preview-pic1I’m starting to wonder whether The Internship is less a movie than an advert for Google. The first poster mimicked the Google homepage, and now a new image has Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson staring lovingly at the Google logo.

The search giant presumably got very good terms in its deal to be included in the film, which includes plenty of mentions outside the actual movie.

First Poster For The Internship With Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn

January 17, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

internship-preview-poster1Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are getting back together for The Internship, which certainly sounds like it could be a lot of fun when it arrives in cinemas on July 4th. Now the first poster for the movie is here, and as you can guess, the film has a bit of an Internet theme.

The Watch (Blu-ray)

January 4, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, Richard Ayoade
Director: Akiva Schaffer
Running Time: 97 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: December 26th 2012

In one of the featurettes on The Watch Blu-ray, producer Shawn Levy says the key to the movie was the casting, and that’s kinda the problem, as they don’t seem to have spent a whole lot of time on anything else. The film lines up a potent quartet of comedy actors, and seems to assume their presence alone can make the movie work, even though the script spends most of the time meandering around a plot that’s pretty much join-the-dots. Vince Vaughn Takes On Action-Thriller Triple Time

November 1, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Although Vince Vaughn is best known for comedy roles, he’s sometimes proved he can be a very good dramatic actor. He’s now getting into a bit of action drama, as Variety reports he’s signed on to star in the action-thriller Triple Time.

Peter Billingsley is set to direct the film, which will see Vaughn as a US Marshal who is escorting a prisoner accused of environmental terrorism. What’s supposed to be an easy assignment gets increasingly complicated, with the Marshal having to work with the convict to unravel a vast conspiracy after their transport plane explodes, even though one of them may be involved. So it’s a little bit The Fugitive and a little bit Con Air.

Billingsley will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Michael J. Wilson. The movie is currently looking for buyers at the American Film Market.

Secret Circle’s Britt Robertson Up For Starbuck

September 12, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While Britt Robertson might has hoped she’d shooting the second season of The Secret Circle by now, her diary suddenly freed up when the series she played the central role in got cancelled. Now she’s found something to do as she has joined the cast of DreamWorks’s Starbuck. She will play the daughter of Vince Vaughn’s character in this comedy, one of his hundreds of kids.

The story, based on the French-Canadian movie Starbuck, is about a man (Vaughn) who comes to realize that he has fathered 533 children through his sperm donations over the years. When several of his kids come forward, he must come to grips on whether or not to reveal his identity. Chris Pratt also stars as the man’s attorney, and Cobie Smulders will play his pregnant girlfriend. The title comes from the anonymous nickname the man used to make his deposits.

Original Starbuck director Ken Scott is back at the helm for this remake, working from his own script. Shooting is scheduled to start later this year. (Source: Deadline)

John Goodman Takes On The Internship

July 30, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

With The Internship just started shooting, director Shawn Levy is busy pulling together the last few cast members for the Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson comedy. Now Variety reports he’s signed up John Goodman and Eric Andre for the movie, although don’t expect much more than a cameo from Goodman.

The movie sees Vaughn and Wilson as two old-school salesmen who, finding themselves suddenly unemployed and passed-by in the digital world, try to reinvent themselves by becoming interns at a major tech company. The film is based on Vaughn’s original script.

Goodman is set to play the big boss of the company Vaughn and Wilson intern at, while US comedian/actor Eric Andre will be the guy who has to mentor the men. (Source: Variety)
