It seems a bit extreme for a film director to want to start World War 3, but that’s just what Sam Raimi is doing. Variety reports that he’s set to helm a movie by that name, which he’s currently developing.
Perhaps most worryingly for a film with that title is that it’s based on a non-fiction source, George Friedman’s book ‘The Next 100 Years’. The sysnopsis describes it as, ‘A fascinating, eye-opening and often shocking look at what lies ahead for the U.S. and the world from one of our most incisive futurists.
I’n his thought-provoking new book, George Friedman, founder of STRATFOR — the preeminent private intelligence and forecasting firm — focuses on what he knows best, the future. Of course, whether any of that will actually happen is impossible to know, but it certainly gives Raimi an interesting sandbox to play in.
