New Frozen Trailer – Get your fill of snow jokes in a new look at the Disney movie

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Frozen hits cinema on December 6th, 2013, and now Disney has released our best look yet at the film in the form of a full trailer and a couple of new images. It certainly looks fun, as long as you have a high tolerance for jokes about all things icy.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

‘The film is directed by Chris Buck (“Tarzan,” “Surf’s Up”) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, “Wreck-It Ralph”), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Winnie the Pooh,” “The Princess and the Frog”). Featuring music from Tony® winner Robert Lopez (“The Book of Mormon,” “Avenue Q”) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“In Transit”), “Frozen” is in UK cinemas in 3D on December 6, 2013’ [Read more…]

In Fear Trailer – Alice Englert, Allen Leech and Iain De Caestecker get intense

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

We enjoyed In Fear when we caught it at Frightfest, and now Studiocanal has released a new trailer, giving us all a fresh look at the movie.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Starring Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures, Ginger and Rosa), Allen Leech (Downton Abbey) and Iain De Caestecker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), ‘In Fear’ is an intense psychological horror about a young couple’s fight to make it through the night. Home invasion but in a car. In real-time. Tom and Lucy are trapped in a maze of country roads with only their vehicle for protection, terrorised by an unseen tormentor hell-bent on exploiting their worst fears – fear of the dark, fear of the unknown, fear of themselves.’

It’s out in the UK on November 15th. [Read more…]

Michael B. Jordan Rumoured For Independence Day Sequel

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Michael-B-JordanAfter years and years of talking about it, Fox is finally committed to making a sequel to Independence Day, currently called ID Forever Part I, with director Roland Emmerich back in the driving seat. There’s been a lot of talk recently about whether Will Smith would or wouldn’t star, with the most recent chat saying he’s out.

Now it seems they’re looking for other cast members who’ll fill in whether Smith turns up or not, with TheWrap writing that Fruitvale Station star, Michael B. Jordan, has reportedly met with Emmerich to talk about a major role in the movie. No offer has been made yet though.

There’s no news either on who he might play, but the smart money is on a grown-up Dylan, the son of Jasmine (Vivica A. Fox) and step-son of Steven Hiller (Will Smith) in the first movie. Emmerich has already said the character will play a large role in the film as sort of a passing of the torch.

Fox really seem to like Jordan, as he’s still in the mix to the Human Torch in their Fantastic Four reboot.

It was announced a few months ago that ID Forever Part I would be released summer 2015, although it now appears it may wait for 2016, to tie in with the 20th anniversary of the first movie.

New Machete Kills UK Quad Poster – Sticking to the grindhouse roots with Danny Trejo & Charlie Sheen

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

machete-kills-quad
It is bizarre that a movie that started out as a fake trailer in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s double-feature, Grindhouse as spawned a sequel and proved far more popular than the movie that introduced us to it. Machete Kills hits cinemas later this month and now a new UK quad poster has emerged, which you can see above.

In the movie, Machete is called on by the President to stop a Billionaire (Gibson) who’s planning to launch a missile into space.

Danny Trejo, Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Demián Bichir, Michelle Rodriguez, Lady Gaga, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, William Sadler, and Antonio Banderas star, with Robert Rodriguez directing.

Justin Long Is Going Walrus For Kevin Smith In Tusks

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Justin-LongKevin Smith was going to give up directing after making his hockey movie Hit Somebody. Then plans changed and Hit Somebody became a mini-series, and Smith decided he was gonna make one more film, Clerks III. But that was definitely it.

Except now it’s not, as he’s going to slot in a strange, Hammer Horror style monster movie before shooting Clerks III. The film is called Tusks, and according to EW it’ll star Justin Long and Red State’s Michael Parks.

Smith had the idea for the film after he saw a Craigslist-type posting where a walrus-obsessed man sought a roommate he could dress up as the sea mammal, as if he lived with an animal rather than a person. That set Smith’s brain whirring and now he’s set to shoot it next month of a tiny $2 million budget, while he waits for funding to be completed on Clerks III.

Kevin says, “It’s about a guy who turns another guy into a f**ing human walrus. As weird as it is in my head when I talk about it, they finally sent me the costume designs by Robert Kurtzman, and I was like, ‘Holy s**t, it’s a monster movie, I had no idea.’ I thought I was making a kind of sister thriller to Red State. As soon as I saw the designs, I go, ‘Of course this is a monster movie and he’s Dr. Frankenstein.’”

Talking about the cast he says, “I wrote the script around him, so it’s nothing but Michael Parks dialogue porn. Justin Long is the guy in the walrus suit. I needed a guy who has expressive eyes because once you’re in that suit, you’re covered. I reached out to Justin and he wrote back and was like, ‘This is awfully scary but how can we not? Let’s fall down this hole.’”

Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba & Christopher Eccleston Get New Thor: The Dark World Posters

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

thor-the-dark-world-uk-quad
Pre-booking starts in the UK tomorrow (September 27th) for Thor: The Dark World, and to help announce that, Marvel has released three new posters. One shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Jane (Natalie Portman) looking suitably heroic in a variation of earlier posters. The second has Christopher Eccleston’s villainous Malekith, while Idris Elba’s Heimdall looks as moody as ever in the third.

Here’s the synopsis: Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.  In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery “ #83 in August, 1962.

Thor: The Dark World is out in the UK on October 30th and a week later in the US.

Transformers 4 Behind-The-Scenes Pic Promises Big, Michael Bay Action

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Transformers-4-pic2
In the run up to the Transformers: Age Of Extinction shoot, it seemed that it was all change. The movie’s got a completely new human cast, with Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz stepping into the fray, while Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel have gone elsewhere.

However the shot above shows many things are staying the same, not least that Michael Bay is in the director’s seat and things are gonna get explosive.

Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, Han Geng, Titus Welliver, T.J. Miller, and Kelsey Grammer also star, and while we’ve been promised Dinobots, there’s not been too much info on the plot, other that it features young woman (Peltz), her dad (Wahlberg), and her racecar driver boyfriend (Reynor).

It’s out next summer.

Jennifer Lawrence Reuniting With Hunger Games’ Gary Ross For East of Eden

September 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence

People seem to like working with Jennifer Lawrence, as it often appears she gets her choice of role not just because she’s a great actress, but because they like having her around. That appears to be true of The Hunger Games director Gary Ross, who is reuniting with Lawrence for a film version of East of Eden, along with another adaptation entitled Burial Rites, according to Deadline.

East of Eden had been in development at Universal since 2004, but it’s been difficult to get it off the ground. Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech) had been set to direct in 2009, although the rights to the book lapsed and the project never got off the ground. Recently, the studio and producer Brian Grazer put together a new deal, attaching Gary Ross to direct and now Jennifer Lawrence  is set to star.

Lawrence will play Cathy Ames, the estranged wife and mother of two boys. The young men compete for their father’s attention, while believing their mother isn’t around anymore. The novel was previously adapted into director Elia Kazan’s 1955 film East of Eden, which starred James Dean in his feature debut. Jo Van Fleet won an Oscar for the role Lawrence will play.

Burial Rites meanwhile is based on a Hannah West novel about a young Icelandic woman who is accused of murder in 1829. The story is set between the murder and the trial, as prosecutors press for a public execution. Jennifer Lawrence will play the accused murderer. It isn’t clear when either film will shoot, although it’s unlikely to be until after Jennifer has completed filming the final two Hunger Games movie.

Need For Speed Trailer – Aaron Paul revs it up

September 25, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

When DreamWorks announced they were making a movie version of the videogame Need For Speed, it sounded like they were trying to cash in on the Fast & Furious audience, and that certainly seems to be true from the evidence of this first trailer. That doesn’t mean it it won’t be worth a look though!

Aaron Paul stars as an underground race car driver who owns a shop that modifies sports cars for racing. He is framed for the murder of his best friend, who died during a race, and upon his release from prison he seeks revenge. Dominic Cooper plays a former NASCAR driver who now owns a high-end shop that rebuilds race cars, while Imogen Poots is an exotic car dealer who works with both Aaron Paul and Dominic Cooper’s characters.

Scott Waugh directs with a February 2014 release set. [Read more…]

A Case Of You Trailer – Peter Dinklage gets quirky opposite Justin Long & Evan Rachel Wood

September 25, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s quirky, indie rom-com time, this time with Peter Dinklage as a peculiar barista, while Justin Long & Evan Rachel Wood are the ones having romance issues. Interesting Long also co-wrote the script alongside his brother Christian.

The movie is about a young man who creates an online dating profile full of lies to try and attract women. It works well and he starts seeing a woman (Evan Rachel Wood), but then he realises that in order not to appear a complete liar, he needs to maintain the fiction he created online. Sienna Miller and Busy Phillipps also star, with Kat Diro directing.

A Case of You is out in the US on November 6th. [Read more…]
