Jane Got A Gun Trailer – Natalie Portman goes to the Old West with Ewan McGregor

October 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jane-got-a-gun-slideJane Got A Gun got off to a really rough start, with cast issues and director Lynne Ramsey leaving the day before it was due to start shooting. That caused huge delays, more cast changes and the recruitment at short notice of a new helmer, Gavin O’Connor (Warrior).

Hopefully it’s manage to overcome those teething issues.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Jane Got a Gun [Natalie Portman] centers on Jane Hammond, who has built a new life with her husband Bill “Ham” Hammond after being tormented by the ultra-violent Bishop Boys outlaw gang. She finds herself in the gang’s cross-hairs once again when Ham stumbles home riddled with bullets after dueling with the Boys and their relentless mastermind Colin. With the vengeful crew hot on Ham’s trail, Jane has nowhere to turn but to her former fiancé Dan Frost for help in defending her family against certain destruction. Haunted by old memories, Jane’s past meets the present in a heart-stopping battle for survival.’ [Read more…]

Joy Trailer – Jennifer Lawrence invents the miracle mop for director David O. Russell

October 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

joy-teaser-posterJennifer Lawrence reunites with director David O. Russell (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) with a new film – all about mops. Well, sort of, as it’s about the inventor of the Miracle Mop, although as the trailer shows, it’s perhaps more mob movie (with a dash of comedy) than flowery biopic.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘JOY is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces. Jennifer Lawrence stars, with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd, and Virginia Madsen. Like David O. Russell’s previous films, Joy defies genre to tell a story of family, loyalty, and love.’

Joy is in UK cinemas 1st January 2016. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

October 21, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

dads-army-character-poster4Dad’s Army is arguably the most successful British sitcom ever, still regularly shown during primetime even though it started in 1968 and the final original episode went out in 1978. It’s not too surprising then that the film world has come calling for a remake that bring the Home Front men to the big screen.

MI5 then discover a radio signal sent direct to Berlin from Walmington-on-Sea. There’s a spy on the loose! The outcome of the war is suddenly at stake, and it falls to our unlikely heroes to stand up and be counted.

‘Dad’s Army’s all-star British cast includes Bill Nighy as Wilson (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Love Actually), Catherine Zeta Jones as Rose (Side Effects, Chicago, The Legend of Zorro), Toby Jones as Captain Mainwaring (The Hunger Games, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Tom Courtenay as Corporal Jones (Quartet), Michael Gambon as Godfrey (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The King’s Speech), Blake Harrison as Pike (The Inbetweeners), Danny Mays as Walker (Atonement), Bill Paterson as Fraser (Miss Potter), Sarah Lancashire (Last Tango in Halifax, Lark Rise to Candleford), Alison Steadman (Gavin & Stacey) , Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, Doctor Who), Annette Crosbie (What We Did on Our Holiday), Felicity Montagu (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Alan Partridge), Julia Foster (Alfie), Holli Dempsey (Derek), Oliver Tobias (Arthur of the Britons) and Emily Atack (The Inbetweeners).’

James Franco Plans Film About Gay Porn Producer Murder, With Garrett Clayton As Porn Star Brent Corrigan

October 19, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

garrett-clayton

Garrett Clayton

Sean Paul Lockhart has made a bit of a name for himself as an actor and producer in gay-themed movies, but as many will know, before he went legit he was porn star Brent Corrigan, who for a time was the hottest gay adult actor around, known for his boy next door looks and, erm, impressive endowment.

However what fewer know is that during his career he unwittingly became central to a murder, when porn actors Harlow Raymond Cuadra and Joseph Manuel Kerekes savagely killed porn producer and head of Cobra Video, Bryan Kocis. They thought by doing so they’d be able to make it big behind-the-scenes of the porn world, and lure Brent Corrigan to work for them in order to make a massively successful movie. Lockhart had got his start with Cobra Video, although it was later revealed he was underage in his first videos. He was later involved in a legal dispute with Kocis over the name Brent Corrigan (however there was never any suggestion he was involved in the murder).

Now a film about the case is in the works, called King Cobra, with QueerClick reporting that James Franco (who else) is set to produce, with Chrisian Slater playing  Kocis. Molly Ringwald has also been cast, apparently playing Kocis’ sister Melody.

It’s not clear what actors will step into the roles of Cuadra and Kerekes, but the movie has founds its Brent Corrigan in the very hot form of former Disney Channel star Garrett Clayton (Teen Beach Movie, The Fosters).

It appears Franco will also appear in the movie, but it’s not clear what role he will play. It will also reunite him with his I Am Michael director, Justin Kelly.

Edina & Patsy Are Back In The First Pic From Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie

October 19, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

absolutely-fabulous-film-pic1Jennifer Saunders has been talking about it for years, but now it’s actually happening, as she and Joanna Lumley are on set to make Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. As well the main stars, other returnees include Julia Sawalha as Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble and June Whitfield as Mother.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Appropriate for their big screen debut, Edina and Patsy are still oozing glitz and glamour, living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots. Blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party, they become entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi. Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high life forevermore! In true Ab Fab style, the cast will be joined by a host of A-list stars from the acting, music and fashion worlds.’

“I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming. We are all on the Sanatogen and hoping for the best,” said Saunders.

The movie is out in 2016, as they recently launched a search to find a hundred drag queens, it’ll be as camp as ever.

Starring: Patrick Stewart, Carla Gugino, Matthew Lillard
Director: Stephen Belber
Running Time: 92 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: October 12th 2015 (UK)

In 1995 Patrick Stewart played a flamboyantly gay character in the wonderful Jeffrey. Now he’s returned to the LGBT arena for Match. He plays aging Juilliard ballet teacher Tobi, who agrees to meet with a woman called Lisa (Carla Gugino) to help with her dissertation about dance in 1960s New York.

Lisa arrives at Tobi’s apartment with her cop husband, Mike (Matthew Lillard). The interview initially seems to go well, until Tobi begins to get suspicious that there is something else going on. It becomes clear that Lisa and Mike are there trying to figure out whether Tobi is Mike’s father, as while he’s lived most of his life as a gay man, in the past Tobi has slept with women, including Mike’s mother. If Tobi is Mike’s dad, it doesn’t appear it’s going to be an easy family reunion. [Read more…]
