HAPPY CHRISTMAS FROM BIG GAY PICTURE SHOW!
(And thanks to Ryan Phillippe for being a sexy Santa)
BGPS’s Advent Calendar Of Buff Blokes: Day 24 – Daniel Radcliffe
Now that the Harry Potter films have come to an end, are we allowed to think Daniel Radcliffe’s a very sexy young man without feeling like perverts? To be honest it’s his own fault people all across the globe have been feeling awkward, because one minute he’s play a boy wizard on screen and the next he’s appearing naked in Equus. It does your head in, but we still reckon he deserves to be our final Advent Calendar guy!
Now he’s all grown up and as the pictures in the galley below attest, he isn’t averse to getting his shirt off and looking hot. He’ll next be seen in the creepy movie The Woman In Black, which is out in February, but for now just enjoy some Christmas Eve Daniel Radcliffe hotness! [Read more…]
BGPS’s Advent Calendar Of Buff Blokes: Day 23 – Chris & Liam Hemsworth
It seems the sensationally sexy Hemsworth brothers are taking it in turn as to who’ll be the most famous. Chris started out first, taking a role in Home & Away from 2004-2007. Then younger bro Liam popped up in Neighbours before getting a Hollywood break in 2009 with Knowing opposite. The following year he appeared in The Last Song, which led to a high profile relationship with Miley Cyrus.
After that though, Liam seemed to be stalling, which allowed Chris to hit back with a role in Star Trek. He then got a huge break playing the title role in Thor. However it’s 2012 that’ll be the real test of which brother is gonna be the biggest star, as Liam has The Hunger Games and The Expendables 2, while Chris will star in Cabin In The Woods, Red Dawn, Snow White And The Huntsman and a little movie called The Avengers.
To help you decide whether you think 28-year-old Chris or 21-year-old Liam deserves to be higher up the a-list, I’ve put together an advent calendar gallery of the brothers looking as fine as they can be. After all, nothing says Christmas more than hot guys. For my part, I reckon Liam wins on looks, but Chris is probably the better all round package. [Read more…]
New Bel Ami Trailer
It seems Robert Pattison doesn’t want us to think he’s just a drippy vampire – he wants to be seen as a stud! He’ll be shagging his way through 1890s French society in Bel Ami, based on Guy De Maupassant’s novel. The film tells the story of George Duroy’s (Pattinson) calculated rise to the top of Parisian high society via the beds of the city’s most glamorous and influential women. Uma Thurman plays the wife of Duroy’s friend, who helps George’s rise to the top, thanks to her society connections. Also in the film will be Kristin Scott Thoman, as a socialist who falls for Duroy’s charms but gets too clingy in the process. Declan Donellan directs. It’s out on March 2nd.
You have to wonder though, does Pattinson know the name Bel Ami and his character in the movie, George Duroy, have been coopted in recent years by one of the world’s most successful gay porn companies?
Prometheus Trailer – Get excited about Ridley’s return to sci-fi
After 20th Century Fox spent the last few days bigging up the release of a trailer for Prometheus (by releasing trailers for the trailer), they needed to deliver something worthwhile. Now that trailer is here and while it’s only a minute long it’s difficult not to get excited. Although in interviews Ridley has tried to distance the movie from Alien, suggesting it’s not a prequel in the way you’d normally think (there’ll be no xenomorph, for example), this trailer puts it smack bang in the same world, with a nod to Alien in both the production design and the way the title is revealed. It’s undoubtedly very cool and sets Prometheus up as one of the must watch flicks of 2012. Let’s just cross out finger Ridley can pull it off. Prometheus hits cinemas June 1st, 2012.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Trailer
This first trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey seems in large part about assuring us we really are going back into Middle Earth, and it’ll be the proper one, with Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett and Gollum. It has very much the same feel as Lord Of The Rings, which is what you’d hope and Martin Freeman seems a good fit as Bilbo. It very much an introduction back into the fantasy world, but it certainly seems this two part Hobbit adventure is on the right track! The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits cinemas on December 14th, 2012.
Wrath Of The Titans Trailer – Sam Worthington works up a sweat
Last year they clashed and now those Titans are going to have some wrath, with Sam Worthington returning as Perseus on March 30th, 2012. The trailer for the movie has just dropped, which suggests we’re in for more of the same, with lots of derring-do, battling monsters and Liam Neeson being a God. Hopefully though this film will be a little more coherent. Quite why Sam Worthington needs his new hairdo I’m not sure, although I suppose it does make him look more like Harry Hamlin in the original 1980s Clash. Click below to take a look.
The Dark Knight Rises Trailer
A new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises debuted in cinemas over the weekend and now it’s hit online! Everything is pretty intense and it seems Christopher Nolan isn’t letting up the brroding tension for the last instalment of his Batman trilogy. The film will arrive in cinemas on July 20th, 2012, but watch the trailer to get a great feel for what we can expect.
BGPS’s Advent Calendar Of Buff Blokes: Day 19 – Zac Efron
Last week an image emerged which appeared to show Zac Efron wearing a t-shirt in support of gay marriage (we’ve included it in the gallery below). Sadly it now looks like the picture was a fake, but it’s still a good excuse to include Zac in our Advent Calendar of gorgeous guys.
Zac is pretty gay friendly though, having once told an interviewer about rumours he has a hankering for other men, “Honestly, if the worst these people can say about me is that I’m gay, then I think I’ll be fine. I can handle it.”
The 24-year-old still hasn’t quite outgrown his teen idol days, but he’s having a good go at it, helped immensely by the fact he’s almost painfully handsome. It’s also nice that he often seems to be slightly allergic to shirts. Click on the pics below to enjoy our pre-Christmas gallery of the best of the Zefron. [Read more…]
Michael Fassbender Talks About Gay Sex In Shame
Michael Fassbender has garnered an awful lot of praise for his performance as a sex addict in Shame (out in the UK on January 13th). While the character is largely heterosexual, at one point he ends up in gay bathhouse, a situation Fassbender recently addressed in an interview with Time Out Chicago.
After being asked whether the slightly ominous scene was equating the character having gay sex with his descent into depravity, Fassbender said, “It doesn’t become about homosexuality or heterosexuality, it becomes about a fix, and where can I get my fix? That is a real scenario for many addicts that are predominantly heterosexual and they end up with a guy. You put yourself into a scenario that you wouldn’t do in a normal situation because your choice is gone.”
Fassbender also noted that he’d done a lot of research in sex addiction and was grateful to “one man in particular, his honesty gave me great insight into the gravity of the situation. When you’re imprisoned by these compulsions, what makes it different to the other addictions, it’s part and parcel of us. Alcohol is an extremity you’re adding into your life. But sex is something that most of us do. It’s a very strong primal instinct.”
While there’s been a lot of Oscar buzz over Fassbender’s performance, many believe he’ll miss out not because he doesn’t deserve it, but because the sexually frank themes and nature of Shame (along with its liberal inclusion of Michael Fassbender’s penis) are distasteful to the Academy’s old guard, who still hold a lot of sway over the awards. We’ll have to wait and see if that turns out to be true.
