The Flash TV Series Gets A Poster Featuring Grant Gustin

May 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

flash-poster1It was more or less a formality that after introducing the character in Arrow and a year of planning, The Flash would get a series order by The CW in the US.

That’s now happened and in its wake comes the first poster, featuring Grant Gustin in costume.

Gustin popped up as Barry Allen in a couple of early episodes of the current season of Arrow, but he won’t don the famed red costume in the pilot of The Flash, which is due to start airing this Autumn. He may have already had the accident that gave him powers in Arrow, but he apparently won’t get superheroic until he has his own series.

Before now Gustin was best known as Glee’s Sebastian, who tried to steal Blane from Kurt.

Win The Eurovision Parody Comedy Cupcakes On DVD!

May 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Cupcakes-dvd-coverCUPCAKES is out now from Peccadillo Pictures on DVD and on demand. You can order from Amazon and Play. We’ve teamed up with them to give away three copies in this great comp!

When a group of best friends in Tel Aviv gather to watch Universong (which is suspiciously similar to the Eurovision Song Contest), they are less than impressed by the official Israeli entry. Believing that they can do better, they spontaneously create and record their own song on a mobile phone.

Little do they know, their performance is seen by the Universong judges and soon they are reluctantly thrown into the spotlight as Israel’s next official entry. After initial reservations about their new found celebrity status, they decide to just go for it and find themselves on the road to international stardom. They embark on a flamboyant journey that brings about hilarious end results as they go head to head with the Russian entry in the Universong final.

From Eytan Fox the director of YOSSI, comes this extravagant and unashamedly entertaining Eurovision parody featuring a feel-good soundtrack provided by Babydaddy from the Scissor Sisters. With bright, Almodovar-esque styling, irresistibly catchy tunes and a gloriously uplifting storyline, this laugh-out-loud comedy is a refreshing ode to music, friendship and romance.

If you’d like to try and win one of the three copies of Cupcakes that we’ve got to give away, answer the question below and fill in your details, then press submit! The competition closes on May 23rd 2014, so get answering and good luck! [Read more…]

New Snowpiercer Red-Band Trailer – Chris Evans is looking dirty amongst an incredible cast

May 9, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Snowpiercer has had a few problems. Despite great reviews from film festivals, it became stuck in a battle between director Bong Joon-ho and The Weinstein Company over whether a recut version should be released commercially in the US and potentially other countries as well. The Weinsteins wanted to recut it, but Bong wants his version released.

It’s been stuck in limbo for English-speaking countries for over a year now, but eventually the Weinsteins relented and so the director’s original cut will hit US cinemas on June 27th (although annoyingly there’s still no UK date).

Ahead of that comes a new, rather cool, red-band trailer, which gives us a good feel for the movie.

The film is set on a ravaged Earth where the few human survivors are on a train (which gives the film its name) that travels around the globe. However a revolution is brewing amongst the passengers. The film has a great cast, following Curtis (Chris Evans), Mason (Tilda Swinton), Gilliam (John Hurt), Wilford (Ed Harris), Namgoong Minsu (Kang-ho Song), Edgar (Jamie Bell), Tanya (Octavia Spencer), Andrew (Ewen Bremner) and Yona (Ah-sung Ko) as they ride the train. The Inbetweeners 2 Teaser – Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison & Joe Thomas are going Down Under

May 9, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

After the massive UK success of The Inbetweeners movie, it was little that a sequel was put into development. Now the first western-infused teaser has arrived, and we can see the boys are on holiday once more – but a little further afield this time.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The hotly anticipated follow up to the UK’s most successful comedy film of all time, THE INBETWEENERS 2 sees our favourite foursome visit Australia. Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison & Joe Thomas are joined by additional cast members Emily Berrington, Freddie Stroma and David Field.

‘THE INBETWEENERS 2 is written and directed by series creators, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, and produced by Spencer Millman (“The Mighty Boosh”, “Man Down”).’

The movie will open in cinemas across the UK & Ireland on Wednesday 6th August 2014. [Read more…]

John Goodman & Ken Watanabe Join The Transformers 4 Voice Cast

May 9, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

john-goodmanIt’s not often you can add new cast members to a film just a couple of months before it opens, but it’s just been revealed that director Michael Bay has tapped John Goodman and Ken Watanabe to voice two of the new Autobots in Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

Goodman and Watanabe join legendary voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker. Goodman will play Autobot Hound, Watanabe will play Drift, while Cullen reprises his role as the voice of Optimus Prime, and Welker (who’s voiced numerous characters in the earlier movies) takes on another new character, Galvatron.

“I am pleased to welcome two gifted and versatile actors, John Goodman and Ken Watanabe, to the world of Transformers,” said Bay. “And to reteam with Peter and Frank, who have brought Transformers characters alive from the beginning. I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the best voice talent in the business, and together we will introduce several exciting new robots to fans of the franchise around the world.”

Rounding out the voice-over cast are actors John DiMaggio, Mark Ryan, Robert Foxworth and Reno Wilson. DiMaggio and Ryan will take on the new characters Crosshairs and Lockdown, while Foxworth reprises the role of Ratchet and Wilson returns as Brains.

The all new human cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Li Bingbing , Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, T. J. Miller, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor and Titus Welliver.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.’

The film is due out in July.

Patrick Wilson Will Be The Blunderer, Alongside Jessica Biel, Imogen Poots, & Toby Jones

May 9, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

patrick-wilson-shirtless-slideA very talented cast is coming together for The Blunderer, with Deadline reporting that Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel, Imogen Poots, and Toby Jones have signed on to star (and yes, I do include Biel in the talented group, as she’s actually far better than most of the roles she’s given).

Based Patricia Highsmith’s 1960s set novel the story follows Walter Stackhouse (Wilson), who is a successful architect with a lovely wife (Biel).

Underneath his seemingly normal, perfect life, he is obsessed with an unsolved murder case, which spirals out of control as he faces both a deadly killer (Jones) and an ambitious detective, all while lusting for another woman (Poots).

Andy Goddard is set to directing from screenplay by Susan Boyd. The film will be looking for buyers at Cannes.

Jay Roach To Direct Matt Damon & Ben Affleck Baseball Wife Swap Drama

May 9, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jay-roachMatt Damon and Ben Affleck have been hoping to reteam for The Trade for over three years, but it’s only now that it finally looks like it’s coming together. Variety reports that Jay Roach has signed on to direct the Warner Bros.’ baseball sex scandal drama.

The film is based on a true story from the 1970s when sandal erupted after it was revealed that two New York Yankees pitchers, Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich, had decided to swap wives. Although it has started off as a few swinging one-offs, they eventually decided to make the switch permanent. While it was an equitable arrangement that pleased all parties, the public wasn’t quite as understanding. Fritz and Susanne remain a couple till this day, while Mike and Marilyn drifted apart.

Affleck is eyeing the role of Peterson with Damon as Kekich. Casey Affleck is also likely to star, and indeed he also wrote the latest draft of the script, taking over from David Mandel. Previously both Affleck and Damon have considered directing, but they’ve not handed the reins to Roach.

Jay Roach is best known for comedies such as The Campaign, Meet The Parents, and the Austin Powers films, but has had success with drama such as Game Change and Recount.

Ansel Elgort & Nat Wolff Turn Fault In Our Stars A Little Bit Gay

May 8, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

fault-in-our-stars-changed-poster1There’s a lot of buzz for next month’s The Fault In Our Stars, based on John Green’s incredibly popular novel. However it seems that some people have been wondering what would happen if it was based around a romance between two guys – and that includes the film’s stars, Ansel Elgort and Nat Wolff.

The two actors recreated the pose from the movie’s poster, but replacing Shailene Woodley with Wolff. The pic was posted on  Elgort’s and Green’s Instagram accounts. Elgort then managed to post a doctored version of the movies poster with the two guys getting up close and personal.

Click on the pics below to see larger versions of both the original and the rather more gay version.

The movie is about Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley), a teenager who joins a support group after being diagnosed with cancer. Hazel begins to fall for another cancer-stricken teenager, Augustus (Ansel Elgort), from her group. Sam Trammell and Laura Dern play Hazel’s father and mother, with Nat Wolff as Isaac, Augustus’ best friend.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes Trailer – Caesar and his simian chums are building a nation

May 8, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Things have certainly moved on for Caesar and his chums since Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, but their relationship with the surviving humans certainly isn’t that great.

Now we can take by far our best look yet at Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes with a full trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.’

It certainly looks pretty cool. [Read more…]

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Trailer – Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner & family have a sucky time

May 8, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

After passing from studio to studio, Disney has finally adapted the extremely popular children’s book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, for the big screen, with Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner starring.

And now the trailer is here!

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Disney’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life-a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him.

‘He soon learns that he’s not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is directed by Independent Spirit Award winner Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl, Cedar Rapids, Youth in Revolt) from a screenplay by Rob Lieber, is a 21 Laps/Jim Henson Company production.’

The film is due out in October. [Read more…]
