New Jurassic World Trailer – Chris Pratt looks exceedingly good tracking down Indominus Rex

April 20, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-poster3-slideWhen it was revealed Jurassic World would be set in a fully functioning dinosaur theme park many decided the film would be rubbish, but ever since the first images emerged many have changed their mind and decided it might actually be quite awesome.

That feeling certainly continues with this very cool new trailer which is full of dinos, plenty of harks ack to earlier movies as well as the suggestion the addition of genetically manipulated animals may be a very good idea – including the super-predator, Indominus Rex. We’ve also got three new posters you can look at below.

Here’s the brief synopsis: ‘Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next instalment of his ground-breaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The screenplay is by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Trevorrow & Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.’

The film is out in the UK on June 11th 2015. [Read more…]

Jurassic World Super Bowl Spot – Chris Pratt shows off his velociraptor skills

February 2, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-poster1-slideWhen early trailers for movies come out, there’s often a lot of complaining about the special effects, with many not realising that due to the fact it’s months until the release the shots we’re getting aren’t in there finished form.

That was certain true of the Jurassic World trailer, but now the Super Bowl spot is here, which contains many of the same shots but the quality of the dinos has certainly improved. Hell, there’s even a shot which in the original trailer was just people running and screening, and now is full of pterodactyls.

There are also a few neat additions, such as Chris Pratt showing he’s figured out how to work with the velociraptors and stop them eating him, as well as glimpses of the movie’s fearsome genetically created beasty, the Indominus Rex.

Take a look below. [Read more…]

Jurassic World Trailer – Chris Pratt versus the dinosaurs

November 25, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-poster1-slideWatching the trailer for Jurassic World, you get the impression that Chris Pratt is the only person who’s seen the first three movies, as like most of us he quickly realises that while dinosaurs might be trouble, that goes double for creating your own genetically modified super-predator beast.

It does look pretty cool though, with the trailer – which we’d been promised on Friday but which has appeared online early – giving us a look at the rather futuristic and fully operational dino park. As you’d expect things quickly start to go wrong.

However it would appear that this time it’s not just humans vs. dinosaurs, as the genetically modified super-beast means many of the dinos are in just as much trouble as the people. Take a look at the trailer below.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, BD Wong and Judy Greer also star. It’s due out in the UK June 12th 2015. [Read more…]

Jurassic World Trailer Tease – Chris Pratt & Bryce Dallas Howard enter the dinosaur park

November 23, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Chris-Pratt-Jurassic-WorldAfter a 14 year gap the Jurassic Park franchise is returning in 2015 with Jurassic World, which takes us inside the fully functioning dinosaur theme park that John Hammond always envisioned. Now we can take out first look, although a very brief one. It does show us some real footage though, including some dinos, along with stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt.

Along with the 15 second tease is the promise we’ll be getting a full trailer this Friday.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley join the team as fellow producers.

‘Jurassic World was shot in 3D and will be released by Universal Pictures in June  12th, 2015.’ [Read more…]

Bryce Dallas Howard Wanted For Pete’s Dragon Remake

November 21, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bryce-dallas-howardDisney is slowly piecing together it’s remake of Pete’s Dragon, with Robert Redford already in talks and young Oakes Fegley due to play Pete. Now another actor is being eyed, as Bryce Dallas Howard may be the female lead, according to Variety.

It’s not known exactly who Bryce Dallas Howard would play. She could be a character similar to Nora (Helen Reddy) from the original Pete’s Dragon, although the plot of the remake is rather different so she could be someone very different.

This time around the dragon with be CGI, and the story will also be rather different (it also won’t be a musical). This time around Pete was raised in a forest by the dragon after his parents died in a car accident. He has to take on a group of loggers who are cutting down all of the trees.

Redford will play a local who tells tall tales involving dragons that no one believes, the equivalent of Mickey Rooney’s Lampie from the original. If Howard is playing a Nora-like character, that would mean she is his daughter, although that’s certainly not clear at the moment.

David Lowery is directing from a script he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks.

Chris Pratt Looks Exceptionally Hunky In New Jurassic World Pics

June 12, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-pic1With a Jurassic Park movie, you expect dinosaurs, but as the movie is still in production we’ll forgive them for showing off the human side in a trio of new pics that have arrived, as they probably haven’t had too much time to sort out the effects for Jurassic World yet.

We have to say though, Chris Pratt is looking good as a scientist doing research into raptors on the island we were introduced to in the first movie. It’s now a fully functional theme park, but as you may have guessed, with dinosaurs around there’s bound to be havoc.

Bryce Dallas Howard plays a very smartly dressed woman who’s also believed to be some kind of scientist (with some reports suggesting she may be related to John Hammons). In the bottom pic are the youngsters who’ll inevitably end up in peril, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins.

The film is due out next year.

First Official Jurassic World Set Pics Emerge & Bryce Dallas Howard Is Looking Good

April 23, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-set-pic1It’s the week for the big movies of 2015 to gear up their shoots. The first pics from the Avengers: Age Of Ultron set have arrived, Terminator: Genesis announced it has started filming and now EW debuts some official set photos from Jurassic World.

There might not be any dinos, but looking at the truck, they’re certainly around. We’re also liking Bryce Dallas Howard’s new hairdo.

Director Colin Trevorrow comments “Yesterday I was under a construction crane with Chris Pratt, covered with dirt, eyeballing the exact height of the dinosaur trying to kill him. We both cracked up laughing. Sometimes you just have to stop and let the joy take over.”

He also promises plenty of dino action, with related reports saying that as with the earlier films, they will be using at least come animatronic animals.

Bryce Dallas Howard May Go To Jurassic World

September 28, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bryce-dallas-howardIt may be the 21st Century, but a lot of the time it’s still true that when an actress becomes a mother, they tend to take fewer film roles (while the husbands continue as if nothing had happened). That seems to be true of Bryce Dallas Howard, who’s only made a few film in the last few years and they’ve tended to be supporting roles in movies such as Twilight: Eclipse, The Help and 50/50.

However it looks like she may be jumping into a lead role in Jurassic World according to TheWrap. The only details known about the film is that it will a brand new dinosaur and will return to Isla Nublar, the island from the first movie. It’s rumoured that by the time the film begins the disaster of Jurassic Park has been forgotten and it’s operating as a theme park. Unsurprisingly, things go terribly wrong.

David Oyelowo, and Garrett Hedlund has also been said to be in contention for role, but it’s not certainly is Universal is still courting them. However Howard is said to be in full negotiations.

Colin Trevorrow is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with his Safety Not Guaranteed collaborator Derek Connolly. A June 12th, 2015 release has been set.

50/50 (Cinema)

November 24, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Bryce Dallas Howard, Anjelica Huston, Anna Kendrick
Director: Jonathan Levine
Running Time: 100 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: November 25th, 2011

Ok, here’s my pitch to try and get a poster quote for 50/50 – ‘The funniest film about possibly dying of cancer you’ll see all year!’ I doubt the studio is going to use that one, but it doesn’t mean it’s not true. It also kind of sums up 50/50’s problems, because while it’s very funny, extremely moving, quite sweet and extremely entertaining, the fact it’s about someone with cancer will inevitably limit its audience.

It’s a real shame, as a lot of people will undoubtedly miss out. It doesn’t really matter what I or anyone else says – a movie about cancer sounds like a bummer, and so getting people through the door is gonna be tough. [Read more…]

The Help (Cinema)

October 29, 2011 By admin Leave a Comment

Starring: Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone
Director: Tate Taylor
Running Time: 146 mins
Certificate: 12A
Release Date: October 26th, 2011

Set in Mississippi in the early 60s, The Help deals with the world of segregation, when black women raised the children of white women, but weren’t allowed to use the same drinking fountains, sit in the same part of the bus and, as the movie says, often couldn’t even use the same toilet.

Young, rather liberal, Skeeter (Emma Stone) returns home after getting a college education to find that the black maid she’s known and loved since childhood, Constantine (Cicely Tyson), no longer works for them, but nobody will tell her exactly why not. While all Skeeter’s friends are busy becoming wives and mothers – and never questioning the idea that the black women who work in their houses should be treated as second class citizens – Skeeter embarks on a project to write a book about these maid’s experience of lif. However she needs to recruit some of ‘the help’ to tell her about their lives. [Read more…]
