The new version of Annie isn’t too far away, with a Christmas release set for the film which takes the classic musical and updates it to the modern day. And with Will Smith and Jay-Z both involved with updating the score, it should also be a little funkier.
The plot also remains the same, with little orphan Annie (Quvenzhane Wallis) having a hard-luck life in the foul orphanage run by Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). She’s then taken in by the filthy rich Benjamin Stacks (Jamie Foxx). In this version he’s running for office and initially just wants Annie so the press will see him being nice to an orphan, but he soon falls for the plucky youngster’s charms. But then Annie’s real parents are found, or are they?

The Internet got a bit excited a few weeks ago with reports that Cameron Diaz had said she was “sexually attracted” to other women. While many were ready to slap a bisexual label on her, she soon after clarified her comments by adding, “that’s not what I was saying, what I’m saying is that I can appreciate the beauty of another woman.”
Later this year we’re all going to get to see Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel’s Sex Tape, and while they may be trying to cover it up in the poster above, it’s going to be in cinemas September 5th.
