Insidious Chapter 3 Teaser Trailer – Returning to The Further with Dermot Mulroney

October 24, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Insidious-3-poster1The first two Chapters of Insidious took us into the creepy world of The Further through the story of the Lamberts and their the supernatural’s interest in them and their son. Now it’s prequel time, showing us how Lin Shaye’s Elise came to known about The Further, which came in handy in the earlier movie.

The first teaser for the movie is here, which suggests there’s going to be plenty more scary weirdness.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The newest chapter in the terrifying horror series is written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.’

Struck By Lightning (DVD)

October 1, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Chris Colfer, Allison Janney, Rebel Wilson, Christina Hendricks, Dermot Mulroney
Director: Brian Dannelly
Running Time: 86 mins
Certificate: 12
Release Date: September 30th 2013

Chris Colfer made his name as Kurt on Glee. While that keeps him pretty busy, he’s found time to write some children’s books and also the screenplay for Struck By Lightning. The fact he’s still only 23 is quite sickening.

He also takes the lead role here as Carson Phillips, who in the first few seconds of the movie is hit by lightning and killed. The film then flashes back to see how he got to that point. Carson is a senior in high school with dreams of becoming a journalist. He knows where he wants to work and what university he intends to go to – and he’s determined to get there. [Read more…]

August: Osage County Trailer – Meryl Streep launches her next Oscar campaign

May 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A very strange thing happened this year – Meryl Streep wasn’t nominated for an Oscar. However on the evidence of this trailer, she’s going for yet another nom with August: Osage County.

Based on Terry Letts’ Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play, the star-packed film also stars Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Abigail Breslin, Chris Cooper, Juliette Lewis, Dermot Mulroney and Sam Shepard.

John Wells directs the film, which is about the dysfunctional Weston family and the daughters who have gone their separate ways, until a crisis brings them back to their Midwestern home. The film should be out later this year. [Read more…]

Dermot Mulroney & Josh Henderson Up For Swelter

June 27, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Dermot Mulroney and Josh Henderson (who’s recent got a bit of heat thanks to starring in the reboot of TV’s Dallas), have signed on to star in the indie action flick, Swelter, from writer-director Keith Palmer (Mob Rules), according to Variety.

The movie is about four violent, escaped criminals who arrive in a dusty Californian town, where it’s incredibly hot and everyone knows one another’s business. The convicts are in search of a fifth man, who took off with over $10 million in cash, and the men want their share.

The movie is set to start shooting in August.

Struck By Lightning Trailer

February 21, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Chris Colfer made a huge splash playing the camp and loveable Kurt on Glee, and now despite only being 21, he’s showing off a whole new talent by not only starring in Struck By Lightning, but writing the script too. Christina Hendricks and Dermot Mulroney also star in the indie flick, which sees Colfer as a young man who, after being struck and killed by lightning, recounts the way he blackmailed his fellow classmates into contributing to his literary magazine.

The Grey

January 27, 2012 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

Starring: Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Liam Neeson
Director: Joe Carnahan
Running Time: 117 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: January 27th, 2012

The first trailer for The Grey made it seem like someone had gotten over-excited about The Tree Of Life. It suggested the film was going to be some sort of weird, ethereal, existentialist drama. Thankfully though, that’s not what it is at all (well, it is a bit, but not too much).

Liam Neeson plays a guy whose job is to sort out the predators that occasionally menace the workers at a remote gas refinery operation in Alaska. On a plane ride with a number of other motley oil workers, things take a rather drastic turn when they fall out of the sky. Normally a plane crash would be the worst part of your day, but the men are now in the middle of nowhere and in the territory of a particularly vicious pack of wolves. [Read more…]

The Grey Red Band Trailer

January 25, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Early trailers for The Grey made it seem oddly dreamy and ethereal, but this red band trailer is upping the intensity and going for the action jugular, as Liam Neeson and co. get thrust into the wilderness and have to face off against a pack of wolves. I can already see the press releases from the wildlife charities saying wolves aren’t really the bad guys. The movie sees Liam Neeson as part of an Alaska oil drilling team who struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders. The film’s out on Friday.

The Grey Trailer – Liam Neeson vs. Wolves!

November 21, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’ll be interesting to see what sort of film The Grey is, as from this trailer it looks part action film, part introspective drama and part rather pretrntious art movie. I just pray that whatever it is, the score isn’t as overbearing as it is in this trailer. The movie sees Liam Neeson as part of an Alaska oil drilling team who struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders. No UK release date is currently set.
