Final X-Men: Days Of Future Past Trailer Arrives – All the Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy & Michael Fassbender you can handle

April 16, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Barely a day goes by without something new from the world of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which perhaps isn’t surprising considering Fox has spent more on the film than any other except Avatar. It’s also true that when you look at the grosses of X-Men movie, they’re successful but not hits on a par with many other superhero movies.

However now they’ve released the final main trailer, which throws everything at the wall to show that this going to be one enormous action-packed movies with more mutant shenanigans than most films could handle.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.’

The movie hits cinemas next month. [Read more…]

Fox Considering A Jennifer Lawrence Mystique X-Men Spin-Off Movie

April 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

x-men-day-of-future-past-character-pic7Fox is busy trying to expand the X-Men universe. They’ve already has success with stand-alone films featuring Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and First Class took us back into mutant past.

There’s also been talk of X-Men Origins: Magneto, which never came off, as well as a Deadpool film. Now new reports suggest that not only is Deadpool still in the works, but X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner says in EW that she has her eye on a Mystique film, with the hope that Jennifer Lawrence will star in her own spin-off adventure.

She says, “There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it. I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.”

However things are obviously at a very early stage, and it’s difficult to know when a spin-off would come (or if Jennifer Lawrence would agree to star), especially as X-Men: Apocalypse is already in the works for 2016 and a third Wolverine should be out the following year.

How soon will a spin-off happen? That’s hard to tell at this point, with director Bryan Singer already in pre-production on the next franchise sequel X-Men: Apocalypse, which will hit theaters two years from now in 2016.

Producer/writer Simon Kinberg adds his thoughts to the possibilities of the future, saying, “I love what Jennifer Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there’s so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo.”

As for Deadpool, Director Tim Miller suggests the only holdback now is a greenlight from Fox. “We will never give up!” he says, “Deadpool is still alive and we’re just waiting for the studio to embrace what an amazingly f***ing awesome film this would be. Ryan [Reynolds] is ready, I am ready, the fans are more than ready, we just need that elusive green light.”

X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer – Can one film handle this many famous mutants?

March 24, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

X-Men: Days of Future Past always looked like it was gonna be a big movie, but it’s not until this trailer that we’ve been able to see just how massive it is. The idea of the two X-Men casts coming together is exciting enough, but that’s only one part of this trailer, which really piled on some enormous effects-filled set-pieces.

Now we can’t wait until the movie’s May release.

Take a look at the trailer where the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage and Halle Berry are only the beginning of the new and old faces we’ll get to see.

Oh, and enjoy the new poster below. [Read more…]

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Blu-ray)

March 16, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland
Director: Francis Lawrence
Running Time: 146 mins
Certificate: 12
Release Date: March 17th 2014

With the first Hunger Games, many remarked that it was surprisingly violent for a young adult film. The second isn’t quite as violent, but it’s is surprisingly dark and gritty. Many wondered whether swapping director Gary Ross for Francis Lawrence would result in a more mainstream, Hollywood-ised tale, but instead it’s rather gone the other way, with a film that doesn’t pull its punches over the darkness and pain at its heart, or try to make its hero less flawed than she is. David O. Russell Eyes Jennifer Lawrenxce To Star In Miracle Mop Inventor Biopic

January 31, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Jennifer Lawrence

In the past few people worked with David O. Russell more than once, partly due to the fact he was renowned for having a fiery temper. However it appears he’s become easier to deal with as American Hustle was filled with actors on their second go round with the director.

That included Jennifer Lawrence, who had a particularly good reason to return, having just won an Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook, and some now suggesting she could get another for Hustle. It seems Russell isn’t done with her, as Deadline reports the director is eyeing a biopic of Joy Mangano and he wants Lawrence to star.

Mangano was ‘a struggling Long Island single mom of three who became one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs with her self-wringing Miracle Mop invention.’ Annie Mumolo wrote the script about a woman who was working three jobs to try and support her family, and had to fight to get her invention recognised, but it eventually became a home shopping sensation, including becoming one of the Home Shopping Network’s most successful presenters.

There’s no news on when it might shoot, or indeed whether Lawrence will be able to fit the movie around her Hunger Games commitments.

New Clip From The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Online – Katniss’ job is to be a distraction

November 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

hunger-games-catching-fire-victory-tour-poster-slide
It’s just a couple of weeks until The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits cinemas, and now we’ve got a clip of Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) telling Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) exactly what her new position in life is supposed to be.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

‘THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone. THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE opens on November 22, 2013.’ [Read more…]
