The 80s TV show 21 Jump Street shot Johnny Depp to fame, and now Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are bringing their take on the premise with a new movie version. The comedy sees Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) and join the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, where they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. However, they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind. It’s due in UK cinemas March 16th.
Neighborhood Watch Teaser Trailer & Poster
The first poster and promo for this summer’s action comedy, Neighborhood Watch, have arrived, and while they don’t tell us much about the plot, they do reveal that perhaps Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade are taking the whole idea of Neighborhood Watch way too seriously. The guy guys set up the group as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week. But when they accidentally discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, they have no choice but to save their neighborhood – and the world – from total extermination. The movie is due out August 22nd.
Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill & James Franco Team For True Story
They both got oscar nominations for Moneyball, and now Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill are reuniting once again for True Story, although this time Pitt will only produce, while Hill is set to star. James Franco is also attached to appear in the movie, which gets its title from the fact the plot sounds like it was made up.
Deadline reports that the project is based on the memoir by Michael Finkel, a New York Times Magazine journalist who learned in 2002 that his identity was used by Christian Longo, a fugitive on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List who was wanted for killing his entire family. Finkel was fired by the magazine shortly after Christian Longo was captured in Mexico (for an unrelated matter), until the fugitive revealed that Michael Finkel was the only person he would talk to. Jonah Hill will play Finkel and James Franco is set to portray Longo.
Brad Pitt is producing True Story through his Plan B production, and won’t be acting opposite his Moneyball co-star in the project. Rupert Goold is directing. A screenwriter is not yet attached to adapt Michael Finkel’s book and there’s no director yet, so it’s early days.
New Posters: 21 Jump Street
New posters have popped up online for some of next year’s movie, so take a look above and below for new shots from 21 Jump Street, Mirror Mirror and Cosmopolis.
Although 21 Jump Street is loosely based on the 1980s Johnny Depp TV series of the same name, it’s a far more comic take on concept. It sees Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as a pair of underachieving cops who are sent back to a local high school to blend in and bring down a drug ring. The poster above is fairly generic, but it ain’t bad. The film’s out March 16th. (Image via Moviefone)
The trailer for Mirror Mirror was pretty dreadful, but these two posters aren’t bad. Directed by Tarsem, the film is a comic take on the Snow White legend starring Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer and Nathan Lane. It’s due to his cinemas on March 16th.
Finally, this rather brooding poster for Cosmopolis has appeared over at CosmopolisFilm.com. David Cronenberg’s take on Don De Lillo’s novel stars Robert Pattinson as young billionaire Eric Packer (Pattinson) who starts out just wanting to get a haircut, but as the day progresses, he must deal with the fallout from the decisions he’s made in his life. The film’s out in 2012.

First Images From Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters & More
US magazine Entertainment Weekly is in the fortunate position to be big enough that it very often gets the very first images from movies to show off. Its latest issue has a trio of exclusive first looks – Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Wrath Of The Titans and Neighborhood Watch.
The pic above, via EW, is from Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, which stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as grown up versions of the fairy tale characters, who are now in the business of hunting witches. Arterton commented, “You see a series of flashbacks with their experience of killing that first witch, which is brilliant. I remember being on set for the final few days of that. The candy house, and the witches are really repulsive and quite frightening. The make-up is out of this world. It’s this bone-chilling scene. Very dark. The girl who plays my character is brilliant, with the horrified expression she has. This (movie) is about abandonment and being lost and parents leaving you. The heart of it is that these kids grow up to be bloodthirsty witch hunters. It’s a bit tongue in cheek, really. What would Hansel and Gretel be in 15 years time?”
Take a look below for the Neighborhood Watch and Wrath Of The Titans pics, which were scanned from Entertainment Weekly by The Playlist.
Neighborhood Watch stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Richard Ayoade and Jonah Hill as guys who put together a home security group as an excuse to hang out and get away from their families. However they discover a nefarious plot to take over the world! The film’s due out August 22nd, 2012.
Sam Worthington is rocking a lovely bouffant look in the followup to Clash of The Titans. The Jonathan Liebesman directed movie is out March 20th, and sees Perseus heading into the underworld after Zeus is kidnapped.

New Trailer For The Sitter – Jonah Hill has kid problems
While there’s a limited amount of amusement that can be gleaned from kids swearing, The Sitter still looks like it could be a lot of fun. In the film Jonah Hill plays Noah, who’s been suspended from college and gets coaxed into babysitting the kids next door. As always with this sort of flick, he is completely unprepared for the wild night ahead of him. So if you like swearing kids, or indeed swearing at kids, then take a look at the new trailer for The Sitter. It’s due for UK release on January 27th, 2012.
